Chapter 7: One Day
AN: I am extremely sorry for the hiatus I went on. This is my senior year and it has been hectic but as this year is winding down and graduation is near it is slowing down I am hoping to be able to update more and I am right now starting chapter 8. I hope this long chapter will hold all you lovely reader over until my next update.
Annie wakes up early and she carefully gets out of the bed. She then picks up here clothes and puts them back on and goes into the kitchen to start her some coffee. She fixed her a cup and fixed Auggie a cup. She contemplated not waking him but she wanted to tell him bye before she left for the airport. "Auggie it is time for you to get up." Annie said in his ear.
"No it is not my alarm has not gone off. So I still have some time to sleep now so come and join me before we have to go to work." Auggie said opening up his arms for Annie.
"I hate to break it to you but I have to get on a plane in an hour and half and you have ten minutes before your alarm goes off." Annie said.
"You have to leave again why does she always have you going out of the country like this. I am definitely not a fan of Lena Smith." Auggie groaned
"Well first of all my mission is classified and second I made you a cup of coffee. Now you have fifteen minutes to get ready so I can drive you into Langley or you can take your car service. So which do you choose." Annie said
"You, I will always choose you." Auggie said and got out of bed. Annie brought him his cup of coffee and gave it to him. He took two sips and then went to go get in the shower. Auggie got out of the shower and quickly got dressed. They then refilled their coffee cups and left.
"So when are you going to get a break?" Auggie asked Annie
"I don't know when this mission is over I guess." Annie says
"Do you know when that would be?"
"No I really don't. This mission is going smooth and it might take a while."
"Oh I didn't know you could do a mission smoothly." Auggie said and chuckles
"Oh ha ha Auggie but I will have you know that not all my missions have gone bad."
"Yeah ok but what about Switzerland, London, Sri Lanka, Belarus need I name any more?" Auggie asks
"Ok funny guy I get it but those are only a few." Annie said as they pulled into Langley. Annie parks the car and then both of them get out. Annie goes to her trunk and pulls out a jacket. They walk in together and once they are on the elevator they both press their floors. Annie gets off first and Auggie then heads up to his new office.
Annie enters Lena's office to find that she is not in yet. So she walks over to Glenn's desk to see if Lena left her anything. Glen hands her the ticket for her flight and the stuff she is she is suppose to do for her NOC. Annie checks her clock and sees that she has about an hour until her flight takes off so she heads to the Starbucks to get another cup of coffee before she leaves. She is waiting for her coffee when she hears a group of people talking about Auggie. "Did you see him Tuesday night with that woman." one of the girls say.
"Yeah they got real cozy and drunk." Another girl said.
"I saw them get into the same cab. I also heard that her name was Parker and was the sister of one of Auggie's buddies from special forces." Barber said.
"I heard that they went on a couple of dates then Auggie broke it off with her when she went to Eritrea." Stu said.
"I bet he got lucky." One of the other guys says. Annie's mind was racing. Would he really sleep with Parker. No he wouldn't cheat on her but he acted strange on the phone. That has to be because of our fight right. Annie was pulled out of her thoughts when the barista called her name for her coffee. She grabbed her coffee and left. Annie made it through security as her plane started boarding. All Annie could think about on the plane ride was Auggie and Parker.
Annie is met by Simon at the gate. He grabs her bag from her and leads her to the car. He takes them to Shangri-La and he took her up to their room. She walks in and she stands in the doorway taking in the beauty of the room and the view. She finally walks out on the terrace and he follows her and puts his arms around her and kisses her neck. "This is too much Simon." Annie says
"Not for you Annie. I figured I would make our time here worth it." Simon says
"Okay so what do you have planned?"
"Well tomorrow I plan to go out and just enjoy the city. I decided I wouldn't plan the trip out."
"Sounds like a plan to me." Annie says as she turns around in his arms. Then Simon picks her up and kisses her and takes her to the bed.
Auggie is sitting at his desk trying to figure out who would have wanted Jai killed. He kept hitting dead ends. Then he thought about Henry. He quickly gets up from his desk and goes to see Arthur.
"Is Arthur available?" Auggie asks Arthur's secretary.
"Let me see." She says back at him. He hears her getting up and the door opening. Just like that she comes back into the room. "He will see you." She says to Auggie.
"Thanks." He says and flashes on of his best smiles. He walks into Arthur's office.
"Auggie what do I owe the pleasure." Arthur says to him
"I think I might have found a way to crack this case." Auggie says
"That is amazing. What is it."
"Well I have come to the conclusion that Jai didn't leave the evidence here at Langley. He thought we had a mole. His house has been swept and we didn't find anything there. Then I got to thinking I told Annie last year to get a safe house. I thought what if Jai had a safe house and that is where he kept his findings."
"Ok that seems plausible but you are not suppose to tell anyone where your safe house is so how would we find Jai's."
"Knowing him I bet he told Henry." Auggie said.
"I have talked to Henry plenty of times and he wont tell us anything."
"What if I talked to him." Auggie suggested.
"No Henry likes to play games. If he wont tell me then he definitely wont tell you."
"Just let me try." Auggie said
"I said no and that is my final answer." Arthur said. "Try and find it some other way." With that Auggie left Arthur's office.
Annie woke up to a cold bed. She thought that maybe he had left. She then heard him talking on the phone. She got out of bed and took a quick shower. When she was out of the shower Simon was still on the phone. Once she was dressed she moved into the sitting room where Simon was and he said goodbye with whom ever he was on the phone with.
"Morning it looks like you already took a shower and with out me." Simon said
"I was going to ask you to join me but I saw that you where on the phone and I did not want to disturb you." Annie said as she went over to him and sat on his lap. "Was that work calling you?"
"Unfortunately! I am sorry but we are going to have to cut this trip short." Simon said as kissed Annie's neck.
"It's ok I have to go look at an artifact anyway." Annie said as she got up off his lap.
"You're mad!" Simon said
"No I am not mad. I understand I just wish we had more time." Annie said as she moved into the room.
"Me too. One day we will make it past the twenty four hour mark." Simon said.
"Yeah one day."
"How about you meet me after I am done with this and we can take a five day vacation."
"I don't now if I can ask my boss for time off on such short notice."
"Well when you get back in DC ask your boss for time off and if you can come call me." Simon said as he zipped his bag up.
"Ok so where would we be going?" Annie asked
"Cuba!" Simon said
"Ok I will ask my boss. " Annie says as she kisses Simon.
"I hope to hear from you soon. I should be done with this in three days." Simon says. " Oh and when you get ready to leave just check out with the clerk he has all my information."
"Ok thanks but I can just leave with you and get me another hotel." Annie says
"No I want to do this for you." Simon says
"Ok but I shouldn't be long I am going to try and check out the artifact today because now I have a free afternoon and I will try and catch a plane tonight so I can let you know as soon as possible."
"Take as long as you want I don't want to rush you." Simon says
"I don't want to be away from you for long." Annie says as she kisses him again and he nods his head and then picks up his bag and walks out the door. As soon as he shuts the door her phone rings.
"Walker" She says into the phone.
"Have you made any headway yet." Lena said
"He had to leave so if you could I am going to check out the artifact in case he has someone following me just to be safe then I am going to head home so if you could book me a flight for around 5:30 pm that would be great." Annie said
"Ok well when you get back I want a full debrief."
"Ok just text me my flight plans."
"Ok just stay safe." Lena said then hung up.
Annie landed at 8:40 and she saw a car waiting for her to take her to Langley. Annie entered Langley and went straight up to Lena's office.
"Annie glad to see you made it back. You look tired so I wont keep you long." Lena said.
"Yeah all this traveling has got me messed up." Annie said
"Soon you shouldn't have been traveling every week. This is the beginning so it has required a lot of flying."
"I know and I am ok with it but I am ready to be able to sleep for two days straight."
"How about this I will give you two days off."
"That sounds good." Annie said "Back to business Simon got a call and said he needed to leave. He then invited me to meet with him in Cuba. I would not be able to use my passport and I did not know if I should go or not." Annie said
"Well what do you think." Lena said
"I think it will be beneficial he said to tell him if I could go. He has other business elsewhere and he said it would take him three days." Annie said.
"Ok tell Simon you can go. You leave me your passport I will get a replica made and you can take three days off. " Lena said.
"Sounds like a plan." Annie said
"I will drop it by your place Thursday."
"Ok se you then." Annie said as she walked out of Lena's office.
Annie went to the elevator and headed up to Auggie's new office. One she got to the door she asked his secretary if he was in. His secretary said yes and Annie asked if she could go in to see him. His secretary got up to go ask him and Annie stopped her saying she wanted to surprise Auggie and his secretary sat down and let Annie go into Auggie's office.
"Karen I thought I told I did not want to be interrupted." Auggie said when he heard his door open.
"Well the I will just leave you alone." Annie said
"Annie I didn't think you would be back so soon it has only been one day."
"Yeah well my trip got cut short and I have three days off."
"Well how about I take one day off with you and we can just stay in bed all day." Auggie said with a grin
"I would love that but can this place handle you being gone for one day. I know if it was me I would be completely lost with out you." Annie said as she moved to sit on the corner of his desk.
"They will be ok." Auggie said then he picked up his phone and told his secretary to come in.
"Karen clear my schedule tomorrow I am going to take the day off. I have been going at this for two days straight and I need to sleep." Auggie said
"Yes Mr. Anderson." Karen said and then she went back to her desk.
"Yes Mr. Anderson take as long as you would like because you need air quote sleep." Annie said into his ear.
"Lets get out of here." Auggie said as he grabbed his civilian cane.

I am so ready for season 5 Chris Gorham tweeted that they were starting to film. I am ready to see where they take Annie and Auggie.
