AN: Another short chapter, I'm sorry but it's late and I'm tired. :( This is about as fluffy as I get so prepare yourself, lol. (As a random side note I will just add that every chapter of this story is actually a title of some of my fave songs from the 70's/early eighties era. Black Dog is a song by Led Zeppelin.)

Chapter Sixteen: I Was Made For Lovin' You

Sirius' hands shook as he held the letter in front of his eyes, he found himself suddenly incapable of understanding basic English. He gazed at the harsh black and white print for a long time yet his brain seemed unable to make any sense of what he was looking at. Slowly he lowered the letter and thrust it at Remus who took it in surprise. "Read it…I…I can't…" Sirius pushed his hands into his hair and drew his knees to his chest as he prepared himself for the news, he felt a firm hand squeeze his shoulder and he lifted his eyes and met James'.

"Sirius…It says here that…" Remus paused and looked at him, slowly a huge smile spread across his face. "You're fine." He handed him the letter and Sirius took it, he finally found himself able to read again and he saw that his test had proven negative. He had been torturing himself for nothing. It took a long moment to sink until he felt a smile tugging at his lips, he was helpless to stop it. Once begun his smile seemed to reach right off his face.

"Oh thank fuck!" James gasped, putting his hand over his heart. "Scared the crap out of me that did." He grinned shakily at Sirius who suddenly let out a sharp bark of laughter, he rocked backwards with his head thrown back and the letter crumpled in one fist. He still shook but that was with relief more than anything.

"I came so close to pissing myself with fear!" Sirius gasped finally, wiping his eyes with his hand. "Christ, why was I such a wuss?"

"I think this is a cause for celebration." James said and jumped to his feet, he ran to Sirius' drink's cabinet and withdrew his best whiskey. Sirius pursed his lips in disproval.

"I was saving that for a special occasion, I stole it from my Dad years ago. It's bloody expensive."

James shrugged and grabbed some glasses from the kitchen. "I'd call this a special occasion, Sirius. After all, you've just found out you're not dying."

"Well no but still, I'd rather you didn't…" Sirius winced as James unscrewed the cap and began pouring out three healthy measures of beautiful amber liquid. "Great." Sirius muttered, he tried to be angry but when James handed him a glass and their fingers touched, he couldn't help but smile softly.

"Let's make a toast to Sirius' continued good health." James said and raised his glass.

"No…to friendship." Sirius said quietly, running the pad of his finger over the rim of his glass and watching the liquid inside ripple. "If it wasn't for you guys I don't know where I'd be right now…" He looked up at his best friends through his hair. "Well…actually I do, I'd probably be lying in some dirty hotel room with my throat slit or choking on my own vomit." He smiled weakly. "I owe you my life."

Remus smiled and lifted his glass. "To friendship then." He said softly and touched his glass to Sirius'.

They drank to friendship and after a few glasses Remus left them to use the bathroom, Sirius and James sat in companionable silence for a while. Sirius downed the last of his drink before setting aside his glass and eyeing James from beneath heavily lidded eyes, he watched his friend sip at his drink and lick his lips. Sirius remembered the feel of them against his own and once again found himself obsessing over it, he hesitated to make any move that may scare James away for good. He didn't want to do anything to ruin what they were trying to rebuild but he knew deep down that he wanted James as more than simply friends, he knew he would never be able to return to what they once were. Sirius was too far gone, he was so deeply in love with James that it would be utter agony to have to resume the mantle of mere friendship. He took a deep breath and looked down at his empty glass, he sighed heavily as he tried to sort through his thoughts and come up with a way of breaching the subject. As he contemplated his situation his thoughts were interrupted by a bottle being shoved roughly into his line of vision and his glass filling up with liquid. He looked up to find James' face very, very close.

"Siri…" James put aside the bottle and downed what he had in his own glass as he tried to give himself courage, he met his best friends gaze and flushed. "I…I was…" He swallowed and looked away with a frown, he couldn't understand why it was suddenly so hard to speak. He had never had any issue asking girls out so why was this so hard?

"I'd love to." Sirius said abruptly, hoping desperately that he had interpreted James' hesitant stutters correctly.

James looked up quickly, his cheeks flushed with alcohol and embarrassment. Slowly he grinned. "Ok…cool…um…"

"Let's go to this really nice bar I've been to before." Sirius said, a smile slowly spreading across his own face. "It's owned by some guy with a really big beard but he's alright really. We'll have a few drinks and then…"

"Then we can go to a club…I mean, if you want to."

"Sounds good." Sirius' smile widened and he laughed a little nervously. "I feel like a right prat." He said and James nodded his agreement. "I mean, I can get just about any bloke into bed with me just by smiling but I…I've never been on a real date before."

"Well, now you can." James took Sirius' hand in his own and their fingers tightened around each other.

Remus came out of the bathroom and smiled when he saw the pair of them kissing furiously on the bed, their gasps and moans filled the small bedsit and they seemed completely deaf to all around them. Remus took his coat off of the hook, glad that he had taken the time to simply sit on the toilet seat and read a book to give James and Sirius a chance to talk. He shook his head to himself and quietly crept from the flat, he closed the door behind him and walked down the steps and into the night. He supposed he could take the time to see his parents and stay there for a while.

Sirius felt as if he was burning. James' fingers were entwined with his own as he pinned his hands above his head, he could feel James' hair tickling his face gently as he kissed and nipped at his throat. He groaned and tipped his head back to expose his throat, James' tongue followed the line down to his collar bone before he lifted his head and looked at Sirius. "You alright?" He asked softly and watched Sirius open an eye.

"You're stopping…to ask me that? Did I say you could stop?" He lifted an eyebrow and gazed up at James imperiously. "I don't think I gave you my permission to even think about anything but me right now, get on with it."

James chuckled and bent his head to nip lightly at Sirius' earlobe, when he drew away again he sighed. "I thought I was in charge?"

Sirius snorted derisively. "I may be bottom, Jamie, but I have all the control I need. All I need to do is smile and you turn into a great lump of putty and you know it. Now, pleasure me, Bitch." He smirked and James growled as he suddenly bit down hard on Sirius' shoulder making him yelp and giggle.

"Bastard." James whispered against Sirius' lips, their fingers tightened on each other.

"I may be a bastard, Potter, but I'm a lovable Bastard."

James hummed his agreement and began slowly teasing Sirius' lips with his tongue.

Sirius was surprised. He had expected James to be much more nervous than he was, after all, the last time they had shagged it had fucked everything up royally. Now though he was a ball of burning passion, his hands managing to somehow find Sirius' most sensitive spots and each touch sent him mad with pleasure. He panted, groaned and muttered James' name, apparently the only word he could speak without it turning into some noise of ecstasy. All he could do was swear repeatedly, moan James' name and rake his nails down his back in a vicious attempt to ease the exquisite agony. Sirius had never, in all his life, felt anything more perfect. James' hair was stuck to his forehead with a fine sheen of sweat, his skin was slick and his long fingered hands unusually skilled for someone who had only ever had sex with another man once. Sirius arched his back, throwing his head back into the mattress as James moved sharply, he dug his fingers into James' shoulders and gasped helplessly. James swore softly, whispering Sirius' name into his ear over and over until it became a litany of meaningless noise.

Every mutter, every swear word, every whisper of a name was a confirmation of devotion. They didn't need to say anything more as they each came rushing towards their completion. When Sirius came he gazed up into James' eyes, eyes that were lacking their usual covering of glass but were no less beautiful because of it. With rough movements Sirius tangled his fist into James' hair and dragged his head down to his, he gasped, jerking his hips in time to his lovers' movements. "Jamie…" He muttered as blinding white pleasure blurred his senses and consumed him.

James collapsed onto Sirius panting heavily, his arms shook from where he had been holding himself up. He could feel Sirius' heart beating rapidly against his own, fingers that were woven into his hair slowly began to relax as they came down from their respective highs. "God…" James breathed finally and closed his eyes as he buried his face into Sirius' hair and took a deep, shuddering breath. "That was brilliant."

"Mmm." Sirius was unable to form any coherent words so he simply relaxed and closed his eyes, he smiled as he felt James' body cooling against his own. It was all so perfect, so unutterably beautiful he didn't want to speak for fear of shattering the dream-like stillness that had descended upon them.

Slowly James roused himself enough to slide off of his lover and lie at his side, he gave Sirius time to roll over so they were looking at each other before pushing a hand into Sirius' hair and pressing their lips together. The kiss was soft, sweet and full of undying feelings far too complicated to put into words, so James pulled away with a smile. "I love you, Sirius Black." He whispered tiredly.

"I know…" Sirius replied with a smirk and evil glitter in his eyes. "I am rather loveable."

James laughed and hit him on the head. "Idiot."

"Yeah, I am." Sirius replied and left a lingering kiss on James' bare shoulder before he pulled the duvet over their bodies. "G'night, Jamie." He sighed and smiled when he felt fingers gliding over his ribs.

"Night." James said sleepily and closed his eyes.

END NOTE: If you're wondering why I put in the whole HIV thing in the first place, well I wanted to find a way that would truly scare Sirius out of his self destructive ways as well as bring the three friends together again. I thought that a HIV scare would do the trick as the eighties is when they began the whole AIDS awareness thing, it was appropriate for the time period the story is based in. This is not the last chapter but this story is being rounded up for it's finale, I hope you are still enjoying and I love everyone who has taken an interest. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
