Wings-Chapter Five
In spring I am gay in handsome array; in summer more clothing I wear; when colder it grows I fling off my clothes; and in winter quite naked appear.
"You did what?!" A feminine voice screeched throughout the humongous mansion. Inuyasha shrunk away in fear as his stupid brother brutally took the verbal beating from the pissed of four winged women. This time the green eyed angel, Satomi, had bright blue eyes and black hair. Apparently angels even had concealment charms to.
"How dare you say that to my Doko!" Satomi screeched at Sesshoumaru.
"Please Satomi-sama, Sesshoumaru-sama really didn't mean to say that! I swear Satomi-sama!" The raven youkai said trying to calm the fuming wing woman.
Sesshoumaru glared at the black haired male.
"This Sesshoumaru said it and this Sesshoumaru meant it. So I will reiterate what I said earlier. What is Kagome's vexation with her belonging to this Sesshoumaru, woman?"
Satomi's eyes narrowed as they burned with anger.
"You know I can purify your sorry carcass to hell and back right? I am not known as the four winged mercenary of God for nothing."
"This Sesshoumaru is well aware of that." He stated blankly knowing there was a underlying threat.
She growled and huffed. Throwing her hands in the air yelling exasperated "Why do I even bother?! You demons are all the same! Arrogant, selfish, cocky jerks that hold the title being gods to humans!"
Sesshoumaru just hned.
"You know that's how most of the ancient taiyoukais died right?!" She yelled, trying to scare him a little bit.
He just looked at her blankly.
"They got exposed due to their arrogance! I hope you meet their fates!" She hissed then gracefully sat down on the other end of the couch were Inuyasha was is curled up hidden under a blanket.
'S-she's w-worst then Kagome!' He thought in fear as she looked at him.
"Oh." She said put in a hand on her chest genuinely surprised "Hello Inuyasha."
"Woman," growled Sesshoumaru. "I need answers."
Satomi closed her eyes and began to massage her temples trying to fight back an oncoming headache.
"If I know Doko, she should be going back to a place that reminded her of a more comfortable time to release some stress that you caused her. She prefers trees instead of buildings Sesshoumaru. I think you get my picture right?"
She felt her eyebrow twitch when she received no answer. When she opened her soft blue eyes, she noticed that everyone was gone. She immediately screamed,
"Sesshoumaru!"
Finland, Forest
She walked through the trees with ease. The pine needles made soft muffled scraps against her boots. Her ice blue eyes looked at every detail in the forest. She was traveling on a old unknown path. At least, it was an unknown to humans, she and three others traveled this path many times to and fro. But this time, something was different, she could feel something murderous and threatening was at least three days ahead of of her.
She smirked as she came to a cliff.
But unknown to that something, she knew many short cuts around this place. She let her white wings burst from her back. Blood sprayed every where. She smirked coldly at the ball of flames setting in the sky. Ignoring the pain in her wings.
She reached out to touch it but then took her hand back and smiled bitterly. She may have not been the most beautiful of angels or the strongest. No, but she had her moments.
Kagome spread her winds and let the cool wind dry off the red liquid.
She defiantly wasn't the smartest or the fastest. But when someone needed her she always did make it in time. And her IQ in human standards was pretty high.
She gave them a test flap and winced in pain. Tears came to her eyes as she bitten her lip to contain a scream of pure agony as she kept flapping.
She certainly wasn't the braves but in moments like these she was the hero of her story. The one to defeat the bad guy and bring peace and harmony to those she cared about.
She dived of the cliff. The ground came closer and closer and closer.
But maybe. Maybe at times like this where she really did doubt her sanity. Maybe they were the only real reason she felt alive again.
She spread her wings at last second narrowly excepting the sharp jagged tops of the rock below her. The current under her lifted her to the clouds as she followed the trail set by her.
But then maybe the reason she had to live was to protect the ones she loved. But now was not the time to think.
Her eyes narrowed and she began to flap her wings harder and faster. It hurt like hell but her friends lives where at stake here. The small cottage came into view. She flapped her wings harder. It was just over the hill. She allowed the wind to lift her higher and higher. Suddenly tremors of pain racked her body. Her body stopped all movement letting the wind carry her to her desidtion.
...Flashback...
'Momma, where are you going?' A small blue eyed winged girl asked as her mother turned her back to her. The other lady smiled sadly as she looked at the child. Suddenly the ground started to rumble. The blue eyed child screamed in fear.
"Momma!" She cried as she looked for the elder women. She looked around despritly as feathers fluttered in the air.
Three flashes of lights opened her to the new awaiting world she was about to he cast into.
"Momma!" She screamed the light sucked in her in. If she had listened hard, she have distinctly heard a males chuckle ring trough out the clearing. Little did she know, that chuckled was the well known chuckle of the devil himself.
(Japan, Unknown Village, Orphanage)
She open her eyes blue eyes once again. And found a kind lady starring down at her with a funny look on her face. Immediately, a happy gurgle past her lips, though she was confused about where she was, the pretty women looked like she was far worse.
Her black hair was out of her neat ponytail. Her pretty brown eyes where underlined with shadows due to a lack of sleep. Her burrows where furrowed with worry causing her to look older then she really was.
The lady letter out a sigh of relieve as she gurgled. That when happened the body's eyes focused in on to the women forehead right in the middle of it was four specks that looked like a shards of glass in a four point star formation. She started to move towards the door of the hut.
The baby blink here ice blue eye innocently before grabbing a strand of the pretty lady's raven hair and gave it a hard tug.
A gasp was heard causing the baby's head to whip to the side and eyes poke out of its pink blanket. She blinked innocently as the a women started to blubber appologys.
"Oh! I'm so sorry, miko-sama! Please forgive her! I swear she didn't mean to do it! I'm sorry here allow me-"
The lady tried to remove the baby from the pretty women's arms, but it shrank away from the praying hands.
The blue eye baby's lips trembled, causing the miko's eyes to widen. She swiftly avoid the women's hands and rocked it gently to her chest. The baby let out a sigh of contentment, causing the miko to chuckle under her breath. The blue eyed baby looked up at her with confusion. Blinking innocently, she began to play with the necklace that hung around the pretty lady's neck.
"I will be taking her." The miko stated confidently. The other lady gasped in surprise. And another man pop out of no where and gently urged the miko to reconsider.
"But miko-sama! That little one looks like a ball of trouble! Are you sure you are willing to take her! Why not one of the these precious little ones, huh? Their well behaved, obedient an-"
The women frowned and quickly ordered the man to be quiet.
"Silence." She ordered harshly causing the man close his mouth with an audible snap.
"I will be taking this one." She said sternly. "She will be my pupil for she has more power I even I."
The man gasped and looked at the blue eyes staring intently back at him.
"She shall be known as Kagome."
He sighed and bowed.
"Yes Midoriko-sama. Thank you for saving our village."
...End Flashback...
Kagome gasped and clutched her chest in pain. Her eyes blazed in anger and determination. Her wings flapped harder and harder until she met the cliff. They quickly retracted into her body causing her to gasp in pain as more blood spilt on the ground. She grabbed onto the nearest tree and lent on it for support. Her eyes watered as she bit on her lip drawing blood to keep in a pain filled scream. Soon enough, the pain past leaving her panting and softly groaning in pain.
'I have to keep moving.' She thought as she looked at the crimson liquid on the ground.
'The demons will be soon coming.' With that she pushed herself off the tree with another painful groin.
'Damn things.' She grouched as she continued on the well worn path. She her pace quickened as the scent of blood enter she senses.
'Oh-no.' She thought horrified as she quickly zoomed down the path at frightening speed. She came to a small hut and stood in the doorway in shock.
'No. No. No.' She thought as she walked in the hut numbly.
She fell on the floor. Pools of blood splashed under her sudden intrusion. A shaky hand went out to touch the face of its owner but stopped mid-way, unwilling to touch their peaceful appearance. An unwanted sob wreaked her tiny frame as she fought to keep it down.
'This can't be happening.' She thought as she stared at the two dead bodies. Both had blood shot green eyes and their faces were consorted into a sort of horror. The one body was a women's. She had flame red hair and a dainty body, with nine fire red poking out from under her.
'Hana...' She thought as her shaky hand reached up to touch the body once more. Much to her horror, she found that it was cold.
She looking away with tears in her eyes. Sadness was immediately replace by anger as she gazed at the male's body not to far away. The male had nine brownish tails, and soft brown hair. He was laying on his stomach, his arms tied behind his back and was looking at underneath the bed with cold dead eyes.
'They probably made Midori watch as they tortured Hana.' She thought bitterly as she kneel next to the body.
Kagomes eyes zeroed in on the direction his eyes where going. No sound met her ears as she looked the direction the dead man was looking toward. She got up and walked to the presumed area she thought her friend was staring when he slowing bled to death.
Slowly lowering herself to the floor as she peer under the forest green bed of the two deceased kitsune. She was surprise to find to emerald green eyes staring right back at her. The little creature gave a startled yelp as she quickly snatched in up by the tail and dragged it out. It scratched at the floors, yipped and swirmed as Kagome tugged it out.
Her eyes widened in disbelieve as she pulled out the thing. Emerald green eye looked at her in fright as its body tried to squirm away from the hands harsh grip.
Kagome looked at the thing in total shock before she finally managed to locate her voice. She eye roomed the small demons form as she studied it. He was a small child up to the height of her knee only. He had wild red and brown hair that seemed to be a mix of Hana's and her mates, and beautiful green eyes, with a set of fangs, claws and a matching fox tail. He had an emerald green bow in his hair with a tag.
"Sh. Little one. Sh." She cooed as she brought the small demon closer to her chest. The little demon whimpered causing her heart to drop a bit.
"I promise I won't hurt you." She whispered as she laid her chin on top of his head. And walked out the door throwing a match into the hut. The boy tried to look over her shoulder to see what she was doing but she quickly averted his gaze by pulling him away, quickly cut off his tag and read it.
"So your names Shippo huh?" She asked. The boy nodded mutely.
She gave him one of her rare dazzling smiled causing him to relax a little as she placed him under her chin once more. She hummed him a small lullaby and watch intently as his eyes began to droop.
'Don't you worry Shippo-chan' she thought as a light snore came from him. She smiled a little. 'I'll protect you from now on.'
...Five months later, very very very deep in the forest of Russia...
She laid in a middle of a daisy covered feild watching the clouds go by. Kagome let her eyes close and listen to the sound of the grass russling, the birds tweeting and the creek gurgling. She smiled softly as she listened to natures soothing masterpiece. It soothed her soul and relaxing her whole form.
She was well aware of the pair of eyes watching her as she relaxed.
Shippo grinned evilly as he scurried through the thick grass to his impending prey. He slowly stalked towards his peaceful pray. Unaware of the traps she laid for him. Before he knew it, a thick cord of rope caught his ankle and putted him up into a tree. He looked at the ground below him and squeaked. Before screaming at the top of his lungs.
"Ka-go-me!"
Kagome chuckled and shook her head as she walked toward the massive tree that held the mischievous kit. She clucked her tongue mockingly.
"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. What I'd tell you Shippo? You have to keep your senses open for anything if you what to come to the city with me."
Shippo pouted.
"No fair Kaa-san!" He whined pitifully as he let his arms dangle. "How in the world am I suppose to beat you when you learned every trick in the book already?! Besides I'm just a child!"
Kagome pressed her lips together in a thoughtful manner as got Shippo down.
"Hm... Well if you can't beat me in stealth then you can try to beat me in logic." She offered smoothly as she pick up the kit and started to walk again.
"If you can answer my riddle then we can go to the city and stay there." She said watching amused as Shippo's eyes lit up. "But if you get it wrong, then we stay here for two weeks and do more rigorous training. And you won't stop until I see it fit."
Shippo nodded his head vigorously.
She closed her eyes and began to think of a good riddle. 'Ah.' She thought as she opened her eyes and look at Shippo anxious emerald orbs. 'That one's perfect.'
"Ok I got it Shippo. You ready?"
Shippo nodded.
"My head bobs lazily in the sun.
You think I'm cute,
For my face is yellow,
My hair is white,
and my body is green.
What am I?"
It was a fairly easy riddle since she was surrounded by it.
"Uh..." Shippo said clueless. Then he remembered reading about these small birds that have these amazing red faces and green body's. Maybe it one of those?
"A humming bird?" He answered unsure of himself. Kagome smiled at him softly and pat his hair down and picked one of the small flowers that surrounded them. Before placing him in her lap.
"No silly. The answer was..."
She handed him the plant.
"A daisy."
Shippo groaned.
'Great.' He thought bitterly as he glared at the small flower in his chubby hands.
"Fate hates me." He whined dramaticly as he slumped against her. Kagome chuckled. Shippo pouted.
Why did Kagome have to be such a harsh trainer?

Luna: *backs away from fuming writer and hides behind Cy.*
Cy: I think she's really pissed off this time. But she did ask for constructive criticism, so she has no one to blame but herself.
Writer: *growls and continues writing.*
Luna: but they didn't need to point out her spelling error to blandly. They could have at least put it in a more sympathetic way. She already struggles enough with writing this things.
Cy: Sigh... Some people are just like that Luna. You can ether 1. ignore them 2. Listen to them or 3. Get mad at them.
Luna: I guess she's doing 3 and 2
