the patrol was very much ordinary only regular burglars this time. they agreed to have infant max stay with ava as they trained with captain america who was shocked at what hydra has done. the team was trained to utilize their powers in combos to face any hydra super soldier. and the meeting with aunt may was a bit awkward for peter. aunt may actually believed the distant relative story as she revealed that peter did have some hispanic ancestors so she just thought max was a cousin three times removed. and now max was bunking with peter. the two metahuman heroes sighed as they went about the files they brought with them to see what other powers max can develop. so far they can deduce he will eventually develop the senses of a tiger and be able to use a paralyzing venom in his claws. that was all they could think he can develop. max heard from fury that max will be going to midtown high with peter and the team. he groaned at the thought of meeting mj and harry. he never met them in his timeline as peter cut all ties to them for pushing him away. he had heard from his mother that the two childhood friends seemed to have stopped caring for his father when they and his team was the only ones keeping him sane from the guilt he still felt at his uncle ben's death.
mary jane watson has only interested in her future career and harry for hating spider-man for what the goblin did and distancing himself from thought that those two need a reality check. he heard from great aunt may about the fight peter had with great uncle ben before his death. he went to sleep wondering how the encounter will go. probably not well was his guess. they sounded like jerks to his dad lately. he recalled that he had to make sure not to call ava and peter mom and dad while in public as he is from the future. he hoped his other personality tora wouldn't come out. a side effect of his tiger dna was that in stress he gains a tiger stripe mark on each side of his face and a whole other personality. tora was actually the manifestation of his white tiger half. max had made a deal with the personality. he can take control as long as he didn't attack anyone unless they were gave the logic of that the power of the jade tiger amulet was used to protect and that attacking anyone without good reason would destroy any good reputation the powers had and maybe have the amulet destroyed to prevent an incident like that scenario and the personality agreed out of pride in that logic. the spider half of max then gave the tiger half the choice of coexistence. as long as max was in harmony with his soul he can use the powers as long as they were used responsibly. this split personality of his gave him the ability to multitask. but we are getting off topic.
max and peter just met up with the rest of the team and ava let them know max's younger self was being looked over by luke's parents. "oh there's mary jane watson and harry" said peter when the school came into view. max's smile turned into a frown at that. "sore spot max" asked danny when he noticed. "there was a reason why dad never mentioned those two, after what he went through those two really hurt him i mean they were his childhood friends and they basically abandoned him." harry max can somewhat understand but to hate spider-man for something that wasn't his fault was going a little to far. they eventually met up with the two and peter pointedly ignored them with eva. max just glared at them. "what's that guy's problem" asked harry to danny. "he's peter's distant cousin and well he received a letter from peter about how his two childhood friends abandoned him when he needed them the most. you remember how peter still feels guilt for what happened to his uncle well max there didn't like what he heard. mary jane you jumped onto the hate spider-man bandwagon triple j has going when peter is the only one besides the six of us that spider-man is a hero. while harry you actually avoided peter because he defended spider man who kept his promise to save your dad. then we found out pete's parents were murdered by that terrorist organization hydra led by red skull last week. he's got enough stress and now fearing that hydra will target him is just making it worse. when max heard he came right away to help support peter" said danny. that made the two 'friends' of peter gasp.
"what you two did is not right and ava is helping peter as her folks was targeted by the same organization have you ever wondered why you never met her folks" said luke as he passed them. mj had noticed ava was helping peter through the stress. "harry you and mary jane have only hurt peter more when you abandoned him he's still trying to pick up the pieces of his past and trying to move forward" "said alex as he moved past them to get to his locker. "sorry to say but you both may have lost your friendship with pete" said danny as he headed to class. "also if you harm my 'cousin' again just know that us parkers are able to hold some grudges why do you think pete is going to quit the bugle. jameson has done nothing but used pete's pictures to spread lies that are going against the reason the news exists: to tell the facts. pete saw with his own eyes spider-man saving lives and jameson is being prejudiced for some reason. so think long and hard on the consequences your actions can have on those around you. do i have to remind you harry that your action got peter captured by the goblin then turned into a monster because he was trying to mend your friendship. peter told me about it in a letter. anyone who harms my family usually has to go through hell to regain my trust. and so far you have yet to earn it' said max as he followed peter and ava to their homeroom. the others went their separate ways leaving mary jane watson and harry osborn to look at each other in guilt.
"we have been horrible friends haven't we" asked mary jane. "i guess i was just looking for someone to vent my anger out and since spider-man seemed to have been the cause of what happened to my dad he became the target. i knew peter had some reason to defend spider-man but i think i took it to far" said harry. "and i didn't help by getting into the hate-spidey hype after the incident at the bugle' sighed mj. "and their right if it wasn't for me being so stubborn pete wouldn't have been targeted by the goblin and turned into that carnage monster to be dad's 'ideal' son as he saw that pete was like a brother to me. sometimes i wonder what it would have been like if i had never became friends with peter and i guess karma is finally getting back at us" said harry. as the school day progressed the entire school talked about the odd split between the original trio of parker,watson and osborn. even flash said it was like the universe went topsy-turvy like the natural order of the town had changed suddenly.
then the students heard rumors of what happened with peter's past and started to think maybe they should have helped him out. they did say that peter did seem to have some kind of mask on. they didn't know that it had ran so deep the emotional mask had become an entire persona. that raised the question of just who is the real peter parker under that persona. they had no clue about peter's folk's occupations but if a high level terrorist group targeted them then it must have been something that got their attention. harry had told them that the parkers were scientists and that peter got their intelligence and that he only used the jokes as a coping mechanism to hide the grief. mary jane had looked up anything from last week and found that hydra had attacked a mall where peter was at to pick up some back up equipment for his chem lab at home.
when that circulated that hit home for many that peter had just cause to fear being targeted. coulson hearing about all this felt his eyes widen and thought of another way that hydra can get at peter. he called fury to check on peter's aunt and what he found wasn't good. He quickly called the seven teens together on the intercom. He couldn't keep the panic from his voice though and that confirmed the school's fears . Something happened to aunt may. At once the seven ran to coulson's office. They then received the worst news yet. "When I heard the rumors going around I had fury check on may. Hydra put her in a coma. By the look of it she's in a temporal lock" said could on. "Then it can only be chrono a hydra soldier from my time he can control the flow of time around others he froze great aunt may in time . Hydra sent him to demoralize peter here. Guys no choice we have to drop out school is taking to much time and like it or not hydra just played their trump for the start of what history calls the meta war."informed max. The seven walked out to find the entire school waiting.
"Looks like the charade is over huh?" Said max. "Your from the future huh your actually Peter's kid" said harry. "Coulson turn off the intercom." Said max. "Listen I came back in time to stop hydra and that's what we are going to do" said max. Johnny storm ran up. "So your just going to leave with out me huh jeez and I came all this way to hand over the team's new suits" said Johnny. He handed watches to everyone but peter. "Time to give hydra a war they won't forget" said peter as he activated his nanite costume. That shocked the school. Max activated his and wasn't surprised his original suit formed. "Let's go" said aracnager. "Flame on!" Said johnny becoming the human torch.
ava's suit was an inverse of her original costume only her hair was covered completely by the mask. Luke's costume was now silver and black and had a visor headset. Nova just donned his helmet and Alex now wore a black armored version of his original outfit. The eight headed out as the school went wide eyed. Now harry and mj felt like the worst of jerks. They had really lost their closest friend. And that he was protecting the city made them respect him. Even flash was showing respect. Mj then realized how peter became spider-man. "Now I know how peter went from the styrotypical nerd to average martial artist that spider bite three years ago must have made peter at his top condition even fixed his eyes I wondered how he was able to see without his glasses" said mj and harry now looked guilty. "It's my dad's fault then it was oscorp that created the experiment my own dad was working on recreating the super soldier formula used on captain america" said harry. "Hydra was the ones who hired your dad for that job heard it from red skull himself now that you know my secret don't tell anyone hydra put my aunt in a coma and that went to far" said spiderman as he entered electric mode.
with that the team went into the air and was soon joined by the rest of the fantastic four and tony stark. The heroes was determined to stop hydra. And thus starts the meta war.
