A/N: I know this ending may not be entirely enjoyable for all of you, but I felt it was the best way to go. I made rookie mistakes on this story that made it difficult to provide an acceptable conclusion for you. I did give you an ending set in a perfect world where season seven really did not happen, and where River doesn't die but is always traveling. I know that season killed me, so I was being kind to my own feels by writing it this way. Thank you to everyone who bothered to read my first fanfiction, and please remember that I will never own Doctor Who.

Chapter 15

"Come on, Mum. You can't end it there!" Amy chuckled at her son, as she finished drying a dish. She turned to Jonathan after turning off the water.

"Well, I'm afraid you'll have to ask your dad for the rest of the story, Jon."

"He never tells stories as good as you do. Can't I ask The Doctor?"

"I'm sure you could, but I doubt you are patient enough to wait for his next appearance." Amy responded, ruffling the boy's hair before hanging the towel she had been using to dry dishes. She looked at her son lovingly as he groaned and stood up from the chair he had been listening from.

"Mum?" Jon asked.

"What, J?" Amy answered.

"Do you think The Doctor will let me ride in the TARDIS when I'm older?"

"He might, but I may not. I'd have to come with you two just to make sure he keeps you and himself out of trouble. And even then, I doubt we'll be able to avoid it. Trouble sniffs The Doctor out everywhere he goes," Amy looked at the clock on the counter, "Your dad will be home soon. Did you finish your homework?"

"Uh…Most of it?" Jon said. Amy gave him a pointed glare. "Fine, I'm going, I'm going. But I'm asking Dad about that story after dinner!" He scurried off with Amy shaking her head at his antics.

"Amy? Jon?" Rory opened the front door.

"Hey, stupid-face." Amy turned the foyer light on and leaned in to kiss her husband.

Rory shut the door and asked, "So what did you two get up to while I was gone?"

"I was telling him about the time the Daleks and The Master teamed up, and we learned about a daughter we had yet to conceive." Amy said, leading Rory back into the kitchen.

"Did you tell him how it ended?" Rory asked as he put his keys on the counter.

Amy leaned against the counter. "No, I wanted to give anyone else that honor."

"You mean you didn't want to tell him you were knocked out by a Dalek trying to leave the building?"

"Well, it's not like fainting when a childhood best friend transforms is that impressive either, Rory." Amy quipped as she set the oven.

"You did not tell him about that! Ugh, and his sister will be sure to exaggerate the facts when we see her this month!"

"Of course I told him about that! It's not like I missed much either. The Master and the Daleks did not see eye-to-eye, or eyestalk-to-eye for that matter, because they ended up destroying each other instead of The Doctor."

"Yeah, and afterwards Wilf invited us to Christmas dinner. Glad we avoided that. Did the man expect us to accept the invitation when we knew his daughter was experimenting with tofu dishes?" Rory took a prepared meal out of the freezer and handed it to Amy.

"The Doctor could always finish the story. He probably has an epic finale featuring him as the hero." Amy put the meal in the oven and set a timer.

"We should get River and The Doctor here at the same time. Then they could both spin a fantastical ending for J."

"You know, it would be the most convoluted story that we ever star in with those two telling it."

"Well, if I stall Jon by retelling the story without my fainting, maybe you can try getting The Doctor on the phone to properly finish it." Rory suggested as he set the table.

"Yeah-"Amy paused and looked toward the back of the house. "Speak of the devil and he shall materialize." Amy smiled as she spoke over the noise of the TARDIS brakes. Rory and Amy looked at each other.

"Jonathan! The Doctor is going to finish the story!" Rory yelled.

"He's probably already halfway down the stairs. He has no patience when it comes to waiting for The Doctor's storytelling. After all, I don't think anyone can end The Adventures of Legs, Nose, and Mrs. Robinson like The Doctor can."
