"Pink…" Yoh Asakura muttered.

The section of the department store he was standing in was full of it; pink shoes, pink bows, pink dresses, pink scarves, pink. A few feet away from him his fiancée, Anna, was holding up a, of course, pink onesie with a cat-eared hood. Yoh was definitely starting to become a believer in the myth that pregnancy makes women glow; even though she was barely showing, when Anna held up that tiny onesie, the effect was blinding.

"Can't we pick something cooler like orange," he whined.

Anna glared back at him with an intensity which could have melted steel. Yoh flinched. She calmly smiled and turned back to the baby clothes. "Pink is cuter."

"But what if it's a boy?"

Anna put onesie down, and stared off towards the boy's section. Her face seemed a little glum, but it wasn't too far off from the stoic expression that Yoh was used to.

"Maybe we should pick yellow," she whispered.

Two hours they arrived back at their house with three bags full of new yellow baby clothes, streamers, napkins, and a cake. Yoh sat down at the table and peered into the clothes bag. At the very top was Anna's favorite onesie with a toothy grinned rubber ducky design on it. He stared at the duck. The duck stared back at him. Yoh shuddered. He had survived the Shaman Fights and had dealt with ghosts for most of his life, but that ducky could give an oni the creeps.

"Yoh," Anna called, breaking his trance. She was leaning out of the kitchen door holding up one pink and one blue napkin. "Which ones should I put out?"

Yoh blinked at her. "Does it matter?"

"Yes," she said flatly.

Yoh squinted thoughtfully at the napkins and cocked his head to the side. "Really?"

Anna stared at him for a second before disappearing back into the kitchen. "Pink it is then."

Yoh sighed. Did they really have to throw a party for this kind of thing? They were just going to tell everyone about the pregnancy. But then again, knowing his friends they probably wouldn't show up if there wasn't the promise of cake. Yummy chocolate cake. He put on his headphones and laid down to the beats of BOB.

When he woke up Manta was standing over him grinning. "Yo."

Yoh rubbed his head and sat up and removed his headphones. "Manta. 'sup man?"

"Just here for the party."

Yoh looked around the room. Clearly Anna had been busy while he was napping. Streamers lined the walls in a disorderly manner. A pile of yellow balloons sat in the corner. Yoh sighed. This was probably the first party Anna had really had. Manta leaned in close to him.

"So," the short kid whispered. "Does Anna still keep you on a regimented diet?"

"Yeah, everyday," Yoh muttered. From the kitchen he saw Anna's head pop into the doorway. From the look on her face it was clear that she had been listening. Manta stiffened up, but Anna simply slipped back into the kitchen.

"I was scared for a second that she was going to slap us," Manta murmured.

"Don't worry," Yoh said, grinning. "At this point it's almost like a sign of affection."

"I heard that," came Anna's flat voice from the kitchen.

Yoh and Manta both, though hesitantly, chuckled.

There was a light knock on the door, before a sweet voice came from outside. "Hello?"

"Just come on in," Yoh hollered.

A meek looking Tamao Tamamura entered holding a frilly looking bag. She looked around the room shyly, before leaning in towards Yoh.

"Umm… I brought you guys a present," she whispered. "Where's Anna?"

Right on cue, Anna peeked out of the kitchen and then smiled. "Tamao!"

She put down whatever it was she was holding and strolled up to the pink haired girl before embracing her. Tamao patted the other girls back, smiling.

"It's good to see you too," she stammered, gently putting some distance between them.

Anna glanced down at the package and grinned "You shouldn't have," she said, as she accepted the gift. "Come, sit down wherever you like."

Tamao sat down hesitantly next to Yoh, as they all watched Anna waft back to the kitchen. Then she turned to Yoh, eyebrows knit in distress.

"Seriously," she whispered. "What happened to Anna?"

It wasn't until the rest of the gang had arrived, that her question was answered. Ryu had brought everyone some cookies that he was trying out. Rin had brought Jeanne with him, and Horohoro only needed to bring himself.

Yoh stood nervously in front of the group, studying everyone's confused faces and attempting to avoid Anna's demanding one.

"Hi everybody," he said, scratching the back of his head. "You're probably wondering what are having a party for?"

"I thought it was obvious," Horohoro interjected.

"If he said we would wonder, then it's probably not the obvious answer you imbecile," Rin muttered.

"Well nobody said it couldn't be," the blue haired boy pouted. "I wouldn't mind some post-SF appreciation. I mean we mostly saved the world."

"Yeah, but Hao still became god," Rin retorted.

"Hey, I don't care," Horohoro yelled. "Just so long as he isn't out to murder humanity anymore."

"Speaking of which," the young heir said. "Was your brother not invited to this party?"

This question triggered a great deal of chatter throughout the room, about their odd new god, and his relation to their friend.

Yoh sighed. "Well he was, but he said no. But that's really not what this party was about…" He could feel Anna starting to boil next to him. "So, if you could all just settle down we will tell you what this all about."

"Is Hao quitting?" Horohoro blurted with a laugh.

Yoh felt the fuse in his young bride-to-be pop.

"I'm pregnant!" she said.

The room fell silent. Yoh watched as the blood drained from all his friends' faces. He knew the news would be hard on them, but he never expected the level of shock which danced through the room.

Anna on the other hand was bright red, flushed with rage and beauty. Every tiny emotion was on display, for the first time, for the world to see. She huffed and then left the room, tears lightly decorating the corners of her eyes.

"So any questions?" Yoh asked, putting his most assuring smile on.

Ryu raised his hand. "Is this a joke?"

"No," Yoh answered calmly. "It is not."

Tamao let out a little squeak before fainting. Nobody went to her aid; they only sat there in silence.

Yoh took a deep breath. "So! Who wants cake?"
