While out on a run with Rick and Glen, Daryl gets into a little walker trouble, including walker blood actually splattering into his mouth! He soon can barely talk and loses his speech. (Daryl was never that big on talking anyway). He soon grows closer to Carol as she helps him get through his pain.

After rescuing her from kidnappers, he wanted nothing more than to protect her from the fallout. They find safety in the most unlikely of places; it wasn't quite what she thought he had in mind. Broken and scarred, Beth struggles to recover from her demons. Daryl struggles to work through his feelings lingering from before she was taken. "T" for now, may go up. EVENTUAL Bethyl

Maggie had hoped and prayed to be reunited with her family. She gets reunited with Glenn, but as she realizes Beth isn't in the boxcar, she comes to terms with the fact that she might only get half of her wish. And then she hears Daryl's side of the story.

Based loosely on events from Season 3's 'The Suicide King' and 'Home' but with the focusing on the turmoil shown by Daryl and Carol after he chooses to take to the road with his brother rather than to return to be with her.

They have a lot in common. Daryl thinks she knows this. Maybe she told him about the two enchained walkers she dragged along and sliced their heads off the moment the opportunity dawned, because she knew he'd understand. It was never easy, in spite of her words. It can never be easy.

Starts at the end of season four and goes along the same lines as the show. Daryl learns to live with the loss of Beth with some help. But maybe he gave up too soon. Rated M just in case for later chapters- Bethyl
