Emptiness.
This didn't feel right.
Not that it felt wrong.
It didn't feel anything.
She was being pulled in two directions
She felt she needed to stay
But knew she needed to go
She felt the longing of those she was leaving
She felt the chill of the air around them
She felt the darkness she was leaving behind
She felt her lover, the sadness and longing.
She felt his best friend, his empathy and strength.
She felt her boss, her courage and bravery.
She felt the old man, his rage and determination.
She felt that they'd all be okay, in the end
They'd come back to themselves in time.
She felt her partner, and knew it was wrong
She felt nothing.
No sadness or longing.
No empathy or strength.
No courage or bravery.
No rage or determination.
She felt for him and felt nothing.
Emptiness.
She felt she should go back, but knew she couldn't.
