bluewind32: Lol I actually had to look up what amourshipping was because I had never heard of it before. To answer your question, this won't be amourshipping, because I only ship Ash with his original female best friend, Misty. Sure they didn't get along at first, but as the show went along, their relationship evolved so much that it's literally impossible for me to imagine Ash with anyone else. I am a huge fan of Pokemon X and Y though, so I ship Calem and Serena. This is a kalosshipping.
Sdarkynecro: Haha , thank you! :D your fangirl moment actually made me smile when I read it, I fangirl all the time when I read a good fanfic! You are so correct, this is a kalosshipping, and there will be a lot of CalemxSerena involved through the whole story. These first few chapters are just the beginning, I have so much in store for this story that it's probably going to become my second longest story after The Legend of Zelda: True Love! If you liked the first two chapters, you'll definitely like what I have in store! Generally if I have a good idea for a story, I write it down in a document and save it as part of the plot. Then, I combine everything together and I write what I plan. That's how my writing works, because I hate it when I forget a really good idea, so I always have to write it down! I almost lost the plot to this story, I thought of it during one of my classes and wrote down the whole thing on the back of a piece of paper, but I luckily found it again and I can't wait to use what I've planned!
tagiru akashi: Thank you so much! Yeah, I actually based the Pokemon on this story from my Pokemon Y game. I like to name my Pokemon simple names because it's easy to know who's being released from the Pokeball, I don't even have to think twice about it! The two names I think that are probably the most unique would either be Spirit (my Yveltal) or Blueberry (my Azumarill) but I honestly had no idea what else to call them. Reading crazy Pokemon names in stories really confuses me, I have to look back at the beginning to know who Abraham Lacey McIntyre Rosalina is! Lol that's a weird name, but you get the point. All of my Pokemon are named after either people, an element of nature, food, or emotions. Luke and Thomas (Pikachu) were named after my brothers' favorite Pokemon, Sunny was named after the Sun, Blueberry was named after the food (self-explanatory), Spike was named for the spike on his chest (Lucario), and Spirit is my nickname!

Serena opened her eyes and sat up in her bed as she heard a strange buzzing noise besides her. She looked over to see her Holo Caster going off, flashing uncontrollably. "Ugh, can't a person get any sleep around here?" she grumbled, reaching out to grab it. When she pressed the button to accept the call, Shauna's beaming face appeared on the screen.
"SERENA CAN YOU HEAR ME? IS THIS THING EVEN ON?" Shauna's voice boomed through the speaker. "Yes Shauna, I can hear you perfectly fine." Serena snapped as she rolled her eyes. "Well, looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning!" Shauna giggled. "Why are you so grouchy, did you stay up too late last night with Calem?" she asked with a gleam in her eye.
"H-how d-did you know about that?!" Serena gasped with a slight hint of blush across her face. Shauna giggled and rolled her eyes. "Oh it wasn't that hard to tell, I think he's got it bad for you!"
"You think so?" Serena softly asked, her face becoming redder by the second. "Totally! I've never seen him smile like that before in my life! He's really got it bad." Shauna agreed, nodding her head. "Well anyways, I'm on the way to Santalune to catch up with the reast of the gang. You should join us there! You might even be able to see Calem again if he isn't off training somewhere." Shauna winked.
Serena smiled back at her friend. "Oh alright, I'll meet you guys up there! If Calem comes, don't let him leave!" she exclaimed as she quickly jumped out of bed and ran to her closet to pick out her favorite outfit.
When she was done getting dressed, Serena ran downstairs and ate a quick breakfast before rushing out the door. She sent Luke and Sunny out of their pokeballs before running through Aquacorde City and into Santalune Forest.
Right before she set foot into Santalune City, a mysterious stranger stepped out in front of her path and smirked at her. "I see you're a Pokemon trainer, miss. Care to battle?" he asked in a deep voice.
Serena's eyes widened as she looked at the man. He seemed strangely familiar, but she couldn't quite figure it out. He wore a hat that covered his hair and sunglasses that covered his eyes as well as a long black trench coat that stretched to his ankles.
"Alright sir, I can battle you! Which Pokemon do you have?" Serena exclaimed with great determination. She wasn't going to allow the man's mysterious identity to distract her from what was really important.
The man chuckled deeply and reached in his pocket to pull out two pokeballs. "Why don't I show you?" he replied, preparing to send them out. "Go pokeball!" he exclaimed, throwing the pokeballs near Luke and Sunny.
When the pokeballs opened, Serena took a good look at his Pokemon. He had a Bulbasaur and a Fletchling that looked ready to battle. Serena called Luke and commanded him to use ember on Bulbasaur while Sunny was left to scratch Fletchling.
The mysterious man smirked at this and commanded his Bulbasaur to use tackle. Bulbasaur nodded and came at Luke with a full charge while Sunny was trying to avoid Fletchling's quick attack. Finally as the commotion cleared up, the winners stood proud and tall as the losers fell over in defeat. Both Luke and Sunny reigned as undefeatable champions, and they were clearly happy about their victory. They both jumped up and down for joy while Serena giggled with happiness.
Calem's POV
Meanwhile, everyone else was sitting around at a table in the cafe wondering where Serena was when all of a sudden Calem appeared out of the blue. He greeted his friends before curiously asking Shauna about Serena's whereabouts.
"I have no idea where that girl is, she should be here by now! Unless she got caught in another Pokemon battle. That girl sure loves to fight." Shauna sighed, realizing the truth.
Calem gasped, surely Serena knew of the dangers of traveling alone! All sorts of terrible images flashed through his head as he imagined the worst possible things to happen to Serena. "We have to find her!" he suddenly exclaimed, causing everyone to jump. "She could be lost or trapped by a flock of angry Beedrils, or even electrocuted by a Pikachu! We've got to find her, she could be in grave danger!" he exclaimed as he slipped on his coat and ran quickly back to the Santalune Forest.
When he arrived back at the forest, he saw Serena hugging a strange person that he had never seen before. "Oh Caen, I can't believe it's you!" he heard her say to the man. Calem immediately sucked in his cheeks and glared at the man, since when did he have the right to touch her that way? His fingers curled into a tight fist and he breathed out a loud sigh of anger. Walking up to the two, he gently tapped Serena's shoulder, gaining her attention. "Serena, who's this guy?' he asked curiously.
Serena's POV
After battling with the stranger, he smirked at Serena and walked up to her. "You haven't changed a bit, Serena!" he exclaimed, affectionately patting her head. Serena took a step back and looked at him curiously, still completely confused as to whom this random stranger was. "You look vaguely familiar good sir, but I still can't quite put my finger on it. Are you perhaps a past friend of mine?" Serena asked curiously.
"Really?" the stranger chuckled, shaking his head at her ignorance. "You still don't recognize me? Maybe this will give you a clue." He said as he called his Bulbasaur back from the pokeball. "Don't you remember Leo?"
"Leo? Only one friend had a Bulbasaur named Leo, and that friend is... OH MY GOSH! Is it really you, Caen?" Serena exclaimed as her eyes widened in happiness.
"The one and only! It took you long enough." Caen teased, winking at her.
"Oh Caen, I can't believe it's you!" Serena exclaimed as she wrapped her arms tightly around him in excitement. "I can't believe it's you either, Serena. It's been so long since I last saw you! How have you been these past couple of years?"
"Well, actually I-
"Serena, who's this guy?" Calem interrupted as he glared at Caen. Serena turned around to look at him and smiled when she saw her good friend. "Calem I'm so glad you're here!This is my old childhood friend/ex-boyfriend Caen who journeyed with me through the Kanto region! While I selected Luke as my starter Pokemon, he chose Leo, his Bulbasaur!"
Calem's POV
"Hello there, it's nice to meet you." Calem reluctantly said as he held out his hand for Caen to shake. Calem could sense that Caen was going to be trouble, especially since he now knew that Caen was Serena's ex-boyfriend. Part of him was happy that Serena was no longer in the relationship, and the other part was curious to know why they broke up in the first place. Was it because Caen didn't treat her right or was there a darker reason that he feared to even think about? Regardless of the reason, Calem knew that he would have to keep a close eye on Caen.
Caen's POV
Meanwhile, Caen was having similar thoughts about Calem. He was suspicious of their relationship, were the two perhaps dating at the moment? Or were they just good friends that genuinely cared for one another? Regardless, he could tell that Serena had feelings for the boy, as he hadn't seen her blush that hard in years just gazing upon his face.
"It's so nice to meet you too, I didn't know Serena was friends with such a handsome boy as yourself." Caen sarcastically replied as he shook Calem's hand. Stay away from her or you'll have to deal with me...
Noticing the tension between the two, Serena decided that they should get to know each other better. "Why don't we go out to eat somewhere! That way you two can get to know each other better and my two best guy friends can finally become the best of friends!" she giggled as she wrapped one arm around Calem's shoulder and the other one around Caen's shoulder.
"Yeah, I can't wait to get to know him better!" Caen rolled his eyes. Not sensing his sarcasm, Serena smiled at him and went about her merry way. "So where shall we go to eat?" she asked curiously, hoping that Calem would know a good place.
"Actually Serena, why don't we battle the gym leader first before we go to eat? In fact, I have a splendid idea, why don't we travel together!" Cane whispered in her ear, not wanting Calem to know of his plans. Serena beamed and hugged him tightly once more. "I'd love to, Caen! What a great idea!" Turning to Calem, she gave him a quick hug before explaining what Caen was talking about. "Caen and I are about to challenge the first gym leader, we'll catch up with you and the gang later! Maybe when we reach Lumiose City we can catch up at one of their famous cafes and Caen can get to know everyone better! But for now, I want to spend some time alone with him and catch up with him. We'll see you later Calem!"
Calem's POV
"Okay then, bye Serena, be safe!" Calem said as he hugged her and waved goodbye. Secretly he was going to follow them, but not before he told his friends about Caen and how he was suspicious of his character. Maybe it was because he was protective of his friends and he considered Serena to be one of his closest friends, or maybe it was because he was slightly jealous of their relationship, but one thing was for sure, and that was that there was no way that he would allow her to travel alone with Caen.
I'm finally done! Yay! I know that this chapter is a bit short but I will make it up! This is the introduction to Caen, but in the next chapter there will actually be more action with the battle with the gym leader. I know it's been a long time since I updated my main story True Love but that's because I lost the chapter names and I don't know if I can continue without it! Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I don't really know when the next one will be out and I can't make any promises but I will try to do it within either this month or next month. Ciao for now!
