I owe you guys a massive apology. I am so sorry for not updating in like four months especially since I left a cliff hanger! But I haven't given up on this story yet like I did with goodbyes. I hope you all will forgive me!
I just want to also say, thank you for reviews and all support!
So here is this chapter.
/
Claire POV
I was mortified at the state of city hall. The scent of blood clung everywhere; for once it made me feel sick. I groaned and cautiously walked down the large hallway.
I couldn't show any mercy, hell I couldn't spare it and I was supposed to be a "good hearted" person. But this was a wakeup call. The way humans had treated vampires for the last few months was sick, I almost felt humiliated. I was ashamed to be half human. But then saying that was kind of hypocritical, after all we drink their blood.
But I was prepared to kill any human in my way.
I broke into a run; despite slightly limping I managed to pick up speed. I slowed down completely as I turned a corner. There she was, with a fucking crossbow.
I gently crept up behind her; a pale body lay in front of her. I knew exactly what she had done. She unexpectedly turned around and faced me, my instincts kicked in. I threw my fist at her face causing her to fly across the room.
I heard the crack of her body as she smashed against the wall screaming. She fell limp and her eyes were flashed wide open, staring into my soul.
"Fuck you Kim." I spat.
Myrnin POV
I watched as another human came crashing towards me, I smacked him away simply and threw a look at Oliver. "Do you sense it?" I called out to him.
"Sense what you crazy fool." He shouted and smashed two humans' heads together.
I just shook my head at him and tried to catch the scent again. It was hers.
I looked for an exit; there were too many humans and vampires in the room. I caught a glimpse of the door; I jumped ahead and landed over a pair who were fighting another. I ran towards the door and kicked it open.
I felt so much more sanity since I found them crystals again, but I knew I couldn't tell Claire or Amelie, I would be locked up again. I began to follow the scent of Claire.
It was empty yet eerie; I had to find my little Claire. I hadn't realized how big city hall actually was before.
I darted round the different corners; you could say I was flying at how fast I was going. As I began to run round another, I crashed into a solid form causing me to fall to the ground.
I looked up. "Jason?"
"No time to explain." He said helping me up.
"What are you doing, I thought you were with-" He cut me off before I could finish.
"Yeah I was with Michael, but he's disappeared. He said he was looking for everyone, but he hasn't returned." Jason stated coolly.
"The boy was or is looking for Claire, like myself." I said raising an eyebrow.
"Well, what are we waiting for?"
Claire POV
I was hoping to find someone, hell anybody. I was still weak from earlier which caused my senses to play up. I wanted to find Shane before Sebastian; he betrayed his best friends as well as me. Betrayal is one way to piss me off real quick.
I started to walk slowly down the hallway; I came to an open door. I scanned inside – it was empty.
I walked in, realising it was the security room. I chuckled slightly, out of everything I could have run into, this was the perfect place. The walls were a plain grey with multiple TV's which displayed recording footage. Along with a few desks and computers.
I quickly trashed the place, careful not to hit my side. Grabbing a draw and pulling it out, I picked up two handcuffs along with the keys. I looked up at the camera footage. Some of the screens were blacked out, that didn't faze me one bit. Yet one screen caught my eye.
A tall brown haired person was standing over someone else. I frowned looking closer, I gasped at the screen seeing blonde curly hair.
"Shit!" I cursed and slammed my hands on the desk.
I ran as fast as I could, sliding round corners trying not to cause anymore damage to myself. I sped up the grand staircase and then into another hallway. I screeched as I felt something knock into my side.
I looked up startled like a deer caught in headlights - only to face Myrnin.
"Oh my god!" I breathed out, before grasping him in a tight hug; I could feel tears in my eyes.
Myrnin POV
Me and Jason were running along the marble floor, you could smell the blood in the atmosphere. I saw someone flash by as we came to another corner - Jason grabbed them, tackling them to the ground. The loud screech hurt my ears, I look down shocked. It was Claire.
"Oh my god!"
Before I could do anything else she pulled me into a hug, I wrapped my arms around her. "I thought you were dead. I ran looking for you; your scent was everywhere…"
"I know." She whimpered.
"Sorry guys, I hate to ruin to the moment but shouldn't we find Michael?" Jason asked and sat up. He picked up some handcuffs.
Claire let go of me and gasped. "We have to go now!" She ordered at us without an explanation before running off. I ran after her with Jason following behind. I felt sane, like I was being kept in order.
She stopped suddenly at a corner putting her hand up. She turned around: "Jason, you do have the handcuffs on you?"
"Yep." He said and spun them around.
"Good." She replied. Her eyes were full of sadness yet hatred; I knew she wasn't going to be the same.
I watched as she slowly walked around the corner whilst pulling out a pocket knife. I looked at Jason who just shrugged.
Claire POV
I crept round the corner, drawing out the pocket knife. To my delight Shane was facing backwards. I held in a laugh, he should know to never go after a vampire on his own. I saw Michael on the ground with a stake sticking out near his side. My heart broke, he was in pain. A lot of pain.
"I really was friends with you Michael, but we're two different people. I'm human like the rest of the population, whereas you're like them." Shane's voice sickened me to the core. I had enough of his shit.
"Well that's too bad I'm a bit of both then." I spoke up and threw the knife at his direction. It landed straight in his forearm causing him scream in pain and fall to the floor. I watched Myrnin run past me to assist Michael; I could smell Michael's and Shane's blood.
I ran up to Shane and yanked the knife out his arm, this caused him to groan. I slotted the handle of the knife between my teeth and grabbed Shane by his t-shirt, smashing him into the wall. I let him drop to the ground. I crouched so I was face to face with him, forcing eye contact. I lifted the top of his t-shirt, shoving the knife through it and into the wall so he couldn't move easily.
"You're a sick person Shane." I said disappointed.
"At least I am a person." He spat back at me. I heard Michael scream as Myrnin carefully removed the stake from his body.
"Vampires are people too Shane, didn't you learn anything from social and ethical studies?" I said in disgust and stood up.
"You drink our blood, you're not people." He retorted. He was seriously pissing me off now; I decided I was going to win this debate.
"Shane you eat meat and guess what? That comes from other species, you need it to survive. It's the goddamn food chain, so accept it Shane. We're still people yet with completely different needs." I stated looking down on him, literally.
Jason walked over, with a smirk on his face. I looked over to Michael who seemed to be healing.
"You want me to cuff him?" Jason asked grinning. I nodded he attempted to grab Shane's wrists, I shoved my boot under Shane's jaw before he could try and move away.
"Ah, ah, ah. You dare try and move away, I'll kick your fucking head off." I said threatening him, but in a calm tone. Jason cuffed him and handed me the tiny key. I put my foot back on the ground.
We had to find the others soon, before we attracted anymore attention. We could hide Shane somewhere. Besides with a deep cut in his arm as well as being cuffed, he wasn't going anywhere.
"So what are you going to do, wait around till I'm busted out of these by someone?" He said sarcastically shaking his wrists.
"The only way you're gonna get out of them, is by a vampire breaking them before you go in a cell." I smiled.
"Care to explain why." Shane smirked at me.
"Well…" I pretended to think, before I looked at him. "Oh I remember!" I chuckled, and swallowed the tiny key in front of him. The grin left his face completely, Myrnin began to laugh hysterically.
"You're as mad as Myrnin." Jason said, trying to hold in a laugh.
"Oh I know." I smiled.
