A/N: So, I've had this written for ages, but I kept putting off typing it up (one of the drawbacks of liking to hand write everything in a notebook). I'm sorry it's been over a month. I am a horrible person. BUT, I now own a copy of Frozen so I can be more accurate to the timeline rather than going off of a really crappy memory.

Please let me know what you think!

Something had woken her up, but Elsa couldn't figure out what. She hadn't been asleep for long- but she was wide awake and alert. She paced through her icy home, trying to figure out what was going on with her head. Her sister's words came back to her, "Arendelle's in deep, deep, deep, deep snow…" Maybe it was the guilt that was keeping her awake. She had to learn to control it.

"Conceal it. Don't feel it!" She growled in frustration as she paced. All of the hard work she had done the past couple of day was crumbling under her feet. The more she tried to conceal, the more the control slipped from her fingers, "Ugh!"

Jack watched her pace from where he was leaning on the stair rail. He didn't dare try to talk to her after the verbal lashing he had gotten just hours before, but he looked on with concerned eyes. This wasn't healthy for her. The fear and the worry were going to ruin her before she ever learned to control the ice.

A commotion outside caused him to turn away and float over to the door way. Marshmellow was up as well and just making noise. He shrugged and started to close the door when he saw that there were men with weapons outside as well. Silence was not going to help him here, "Elsa! You need to get out of here."

"What on earth are you talking about?" She looked around for his normal form of snow, but only saw the open door. Curious, she went to investigate, "What's going on?"

"You have to get to safety. Did you think to make a back door out of here?"

Her head poked through the space to see what had gotten him so worked up, "Men. Why are they here?" Shaking her head, she closed the door, "Marshmellow will stop them." Her heels clinked on the ice as she walked away, "Go back to being silent, Jack. I don't need you distracting me right now."

She was just starting to climb the stairs when two men with crossbows burst into the palace. A look of fear appeared on her face as she began to sprint up the stairs and away from them, her power forgotten. Jack flew after her, trying to think of a way he could help, but he was never good in a crisis. The men slipped on the ice once or twice, but were otherwise sure footed as they chased after the queen.

Pitch was on the balcony, playing with his black sand when Elsa came to the circular room. The increase of fear caused him to turn to see his queen being threatened by the crossbows. His eyes narrowed at their arrogance. The men apparently didn't know how powerful she really was. All she needed was the right push…

"Please, stay away!" Elsa was scared. These men meant to kill her. She saw the crossbow pointed at her and reacted on instinct, closing her eyes. When she opened them again, she was surprised to see that a wall of ice had caught the arrow, stopping it just inches from her face.

She became angry. How dare they invade her privacy and solitude to try to hurt her? They call her a monster, when all she ever tried to do was protect the ones she loved. Elsa was going to defend herself. Ice shot from her fingers, pinning one of the men to the wall, as another wall of ice blocked the other from trying to harm her. The wall moved, forcing him back against the door until it shattered and he stumbled onto the balcony.

Pitch laughed. He was proud of her work. He knew that she was too strong and stubborn to actually let the men take her without a fight. Yes, she was his perfect match, and even if she felt guilty after killing these men, then he would be the one she would go to for comfort. Elsa was his.

Jack watched on in horror, "Elsa, stop! This isn't you!" He was ignored, though, and he had to use his power to try to stop her, but he only succeeded in slowing down her ice.

Another, more handsome, man ran into the room. He quickly surveyed the scene, "Elsa! Don't be the monster they think you are."

She looked at his face and then at the two men, a look of realization overcoming her. Her arms dropped to her side, and she tried to catch her breath, ashamed of what she had been trying to do. The man pinned to the wall aimed his crossbow at her, but she didn't notice. It was the handsome man who saved her. He knocked the crossbow so that it pointed upwards, the arrow slicing through the ice that held the chandelier in place. Elsa darted from underneath it as it started to fall and dove to the ground, her head hitting the ice and knocking her unconscious.

Jack and Pitch both started towards her, but it was her savior that got to her first. He carefully lifted her up from the ice and carried her away to his horse. Pitch watched with hard eyes as the he laid her onto the horse's back then mounted behind her. He didn't trust this man. There was something about his cold eyes that made Pitch wary. He would follow them back to Arendelle—not because he cared for Elsa, but he did not want anything or anyone ruining his plans.
