Forbidden chocolates

(This happens after they are in a relationship)

It's the 13th of February.

Ryuu didn't really notice anything special about the day until the girls start talking about who they are going to give chocolates to the day after.

'Yuki-chan, are you going to give Kashima-kun your handmade chocolate this year?'one of them asks.

Ushimaru Yuki, who is the cutest girl in the class, feels blood rushes onto her head and splutters, 'Wh-wh-what are you sss-saying? G-Giving out chocolates is forbidden at ss-school!'

'Oh great,' the same girl rolls her eyes, 'You sound like Inomata.'

Since Ryuu is the student on duty today, he is busy sweeping the floor, while other boys are busy playing with the paper balls by using their brooms to hit them around.

'Morons, start working, will you?' a cold voice orders.

Those boys who were messing around shiver and stop what they were doing, 'S-sure! We're getting on it, aren't we?' one of them claims with a horrified face and the others nod eagerly.

Clicking his tongue in annoyance, Hayato grabs Ryuu's broom and says,'I'll do this. You go over there and clean the blackboard.'

'I thought you aren't on duty today?' Ryuu tilts his head and asks.

'It's going to take ages if I leave you with these brainless idiots.'

Protests from the boys start to fill the classroom once Hayato has said that.

'Kamitani, you're so mean~'

'That's so unfair!'

'Why are you only nice to Kashima?'

'Shut up,' Hayato says to them in an unmoved tone and motions Ryuu to move, ignoring the boys who begin to make some girly screams in the background.

Ryuu smiles sheepishly, feeling bad to do the easiest job, but walks away anyways.

Maybe I should give something to Hayato too.

He ponders what to make while wiping the words on the board away. He knows that Hayato doesn't have a sweet tooth at all, unlike his father. Ryuu feels that he knows what Hayato likes. He remembers Kamitani-sensei has mentioned about something like that before.

Hayato is a weird kid. He doesn't like eating sweet food but he likes…

Ryuu's hand with the brush pauses as he recalls Kamitani-sensei's words, he smiles a bit to himself, 'I think I know what to give Hayato now.'

Hayato yawns as he is walking in the corridor, schoolbag hanging loosely on his shoulder. He got a bit grumpy today as he needed to keep telling the girls he doesn't like chocolates and he won't take any from them.

He hopes 14th February will pass soon.

Sliding open the door of the daycare as gently as he can, he enters. Again, Taka and Kotaro are still taking their afternoon nap. Ryuu is sitting in front of the book shelve, looking at this way. It seems that he has been waiting for him.

'Hayato,' he says quietly and smiles, 'Welcome back.'

He nods and sits down next to Ryuu, their shoulders touching.

If they are lucky, they can enjoy longer moments alone before the kids wake up.

Hayato takes Ryuu's hand, which is placed on the floor . It is warm and light as usual but the fingertips are a bit chilly, so he squeezes gently to warm them.

'Do you feel cold?' Hayato asks.

Ryuu shakes his head and uses another hand to get a box out from his schoolbag, which is put near him.

'Here, it's a gift for you,' Ryuu beams warmly, 'Don't worry. It's not chocolate, since giving chocolates to others is forbidden at school,' he adds, imitating Inomata's tone.

Hayato raises a eyebrow while opening the lid of the lunchbox.

Four neatly placed egg rolls are inside.

'Happy Valentine's day, Hayato,' Ryuu blushes a little, offering him a pair of chopsticks.

Hayato can't help but feel a bit embarrassed too, 'Thanks, Ryuuichi,' he mutters, taking a piece of egg roll and starts eating it. It's sweet and soft, just the same as the taste he likes most.

'I hope it tastes okay,' Ryuu says while studying Hayato's face closely, looking for hints about the taste, ' I actually asked Kamitani-sensei how to make it.'

Hayato is shocked. He… asked old hag about it? He has a really bad feeling that she's going to bug him to no end on this later.

But whatever.

'I like it a lot. It tastes really good. Thanks,' trying his best to keep his poker face in place, Hayato comments.

Before he wants to say something more, he sees Kotaro, who is standing next to Ryuu, is staring at the egg rolls in the box.

'Em… hey, Kotaro, you're awake,' Ryuu stutters, acting like a child who got caught for misbehaving.

Karato's eyes are still fixed on the food. They can practically read his mind.

Egg rolls cooked by Nii-chaaa, look delicious, want to eat...

Sweats are dripping down Ryuu's forehead at this point, ' Hey, Kotaro, I'm going to make you some chocolates tonight, okay?'

Kotaro seems not to hear anything.

Seeing such a funny expression on the kid's face, Hayato chuckles and says, 'Come here and try one, Kotaro.'

Kotaro's eyes shine, his whole face brightens, 'Ung!'

'But… er…' Ryuu has mixed feelings seeing this. He feels bad to make Hayato share the egg rolls but feels warm and glad at the same time.

'He's drooling, can't you see that?' Hayato says while putting a piece of egg roll into Kotaro's willingly opened mouth, ' I guess no one can resist that look.'

Ryuu sighs, feeling the love for Hayato bubbling in his heart again.

'Besides,' Hayato continues, putting away the lunchbox before Taka wakes up too 'I'm going to love Kotaro too.'

'Eh?'

Hayato looks at Ryuu and smirks.

'Because I'm in love with his elder brother.'

Hayato sounds like it's a matter of fact. It makes Ryuu feels like passing out, with his face boiling hot.

Kataro giggles and hugs both of them.

'Actually, I have a gift for you too,' Hayato says 'coz I think you may do something like this.'

'Really? What is it?' Ryuu's eyes are shinning in the same way like his little brother.

Hayato takes out a curry bread from his bag, ' I bought this from the convenient store just in case.'

Ryuu looks at the bread dangling in his hand for three seconds, then bursts into laughter.

'Why curry bread?'

'How's it going, Hayato?' Shizuka's head appears behind the door of his room, wearing a cheeky grin that makes him want to break something, ' Did you enjoy Kashima-kun's handmade egg rolls?'

'…'

'Ah… I'm so jealous. It's Valentine's day afterall… I wish I have such a cute…'

Hayato stands up and slams the door in her face. It's only the beginning.
