Author's note: This story is precisely fifty-five words. I got this idea from Alcyone23 and her challenge for October, though I've obviously missed that deadline, and from not done baking, who I've also seen do drabbles like this. It really doesn't have much of a point, but I thought I'd post it up anyway.
Disclaimer: Even though no names are said, all characters involved in this snipet are property of Stephanie Meyer and her various publishers.
Rejection
Fighting tears, I slip back into my shirt.
I know it's wrong, but I feel rejected, as if my imperfect human body isn't good enough.
Behind me, the mattress creaks and then there are two, strong arms around my waist.
I shiver.
"I'm sorry," he says.
I swallow, hot tears tracing my face.
"I know."
