Adrenaline gushed through Sora's veins as he leapt up and came crashing down,
his keyblade clashing against Riku's.
Both fell back and Sora's blade went spiraling out and fell into the inky blackness of their dark arena.
Stumbling as he tried to reach it,
he fell,
calling out into the darkness.
Again he stood up,
but fell realizing he'd wounded his ankle too much to walk.
Holding back angry tears,
he turned around to face Riku,
but he was already gone.
And suddenly from beside he heard a cold laughter,
"You never were strong, Sora" snickered Riku as he bent over him hands on his hips.
Hurt,
Sora turned away and tried again to stand,
and again fell.
Sighing and shaking his head ruefully Riku bent down and held out his hand.
Hesitantly,
Sora took it in his own,
and using Riku as support he tried to stand one last time.
Alas,
it wasn't enough and he fell,
taking Riku along with him.
And more than just slightly stunned they lay there,
hands still clasped,
and looking into Sora's eyes,
try as he might to say something cruel,
Riku found,
that he couldn't say anything.
And that was fine with him.
Perfectly fine.
