prologue

Temperance sighed. she didn't felt well. She felt like this the whole month. And those dream she had didn't really helped. sometimes she ran through a forest. Sometimes a man called her to him. And the most shocking dreams were the one in which she had killed someone and liked it. She didn't knew what shocked her most: that dream, or the fact that she didn't dreamt anything last night. Maybe that would explain how she got this tired. She almost fell asleep, when she felt someone pull one her arm.

Seeley saw her. She looked tired, but she was needed. There was a body somewhere that looked like it was mutilated by an animal. When he finally got her to go with him, she fell asleep on the passenger seat. He looked at her, she had changed this past month. He couldn't tell how, but something was different about her. He looked at the road again, and saw they were almost there. Had he been staring at her for that long?

When he pulled her out of the car, she saw where they were. "booth, I thought you said we had a case?" he looked at her confused. And then he saw they were in front of her apartment complex. She saw it too, but before she could walk up, he pulled her with him to an alley. Although it was night, they could see well, because someone had placed some lights around. A few people were sitting next to the body. And then they moved aside to let her watch. She fell to the ground, hands by her head, fighting against the stream of images that floated into her mind.

Hunger. Running. People screaming. Going to fast, not knowing whereto. Seeing people with a net. Almost caught. Still hunger. Running back. A man, screaming. Jumping. Biting. Seeing his face. Ripping his face of. Eating. No hunger. Running from other people. Almost day. Running back. Going inside. Darkness.

She woke up, lying on the cold floor of the alley. Those images, they felt so real. She looked at the victim again and felt a wave of nausea. She had to go. She ran away from the alley, not looking back. she didn't even noticed whereto, or the person running after her. It wasn't until she ran into a dead end that she stopped and noticed her partner, wet of all the sweat. They looked each other in the eye. And then the clouds moved and revealed a full moon.

He saw her fall down, get up after a few minutes and then just run away. He did the first thing he thought of, running after her. She was fast, but he managed to stay with her. But the only reason he ever caught up with her, was the dead end. He looked to her and saw she wasn't sweating. Then he looked into her eyes. Then the clouds moved away from the full moon. And he still looked in the same eyes. Only they weren't hers, but of a wolf. He was scared, didn't even dared to run. But then something unexpected happened. The wolf walked to him, and tried to get him to somewhere. He only could follow. He called the lab to tell them Temperance wasn't felling well. They wouldn't believe him if he told the truth.

After a few hours of walking through the abandoned parts of the city and strangely not getting tired at all, she, or better the wolf, stopped. He looked around and saw that they weren't in the city anymore. He saw they were in some kind of cave. And he saw information. Too much information. And pictures. He understood it. She was a werewolf.

And he was her master.
