Noises

I heard you one day.

You thought you were alone.

But darling, you are never alone.

I thought it was the wind

Or maybe just some running water.

But no.

It was you, dear.

I looked over.

Your face was red.

Your hair was messier than normal.

And you held your hand to your cheek.

Streaks of water poured from your eyes.

Sadness poured from them, too.

I thought the noises were me,

But really, they were you.
