Surprise Birthday
Horatio Caine/Timothy Speedle
Speed looked over at the rest of his team members and smiled at them. Today was his lover's 50th birthday and they were throwing him a surprise birthday party. As usual Horatio had stayed behind at work after everyone else had gone home so they had decided then was a perfect time to get ready. Speed had, had the day off so that had also helped them. Horatio was expected to get home within the next ten minutes or so, so they had turned of all the lights and were in their positions to greet him.
They heard a car drive up and Speed nodded to everyone. The door opened and they saw Horatio's silhouette standing in the doorway. As he switched the light of they yelled "Surprise!" causing him to jump in fright. Once he had realised what had happened he laughed and greeted them all warmly.
For the next three hours they stood around drinking and eating and just plain celebrating Horatio's birthday. Later that night after all the guests had gone home the two of us had our own celebration that lasted into the early morning, not that either of us minded. We were both glad that we both had the next day off work as we slept late into the morning.
