Chapter 5
Back with Ryoma.
"Oi Chibisuke! What happened?! Where were you? Why didn't you come back? Did you get lost?" Ryoga asked worriedly, fretting over his baby brother. Although he may seem aloof and careless, Ryoga was a closet mother hen when it came to his baby brother.
They two of them were in Ryoma's bedroom. Ryoma sitting on the bed while Ryoga was pacing the room.
Ryoma sighed.
"Gome nii-san… I was going to blow off some steam since oyaji pissed me off so much and I got lost." Ryoma answered truthfully. He felt a LITTLE bad that made his brother and mother worry so much. His father was an exception since he was the one who pissed Ryoma off in the first place.
Ryoga sighed.
"Why didn't you find me? You could have blown off steam with vampire slaying. That way, I could keep an eye on you." Ryoga said, just as Rinko entered the room. She was wearing a dark blue kimono with white flower prints. Her long hair was in a bun with her bangs framing her face. She smiled at them before focusing on Ryoma, her eyes calculating.
"Ryo-chan. Those boys. Did they say or do anything strange?" Rinko asked, worriedly. Ryoma fidgeted, face turning a deep scarlet, which both Ryoga and Rinko took note off.
"Ugh… No." Ryoma said, looking at his mother with a flushed face. Rink nearly giggled at her son's blatant attempt at lying. Ryoga on the other hand, started laughing at his ototou's pathetic attempt at lying.
"Ryoma. I'm a terrible liar but that was pathetic." Ryoga chuckled out as Rinko hid her giggles. Ryoma flushed even more, glaring at his brother (read: pouting).
"Che…" was the only thing he said before hiding his face in a pillow. That only made Ryoga laugh some more. Rinko sat down besides her youngest son.
"Saa… Ryoma, do you think that those boys were strange?" Rinko asked after Ryoga's laugh subsided. Ryoga, feeling bored, left the room to go terrorize his dad for driving Ryoma up the wall, leaving the mother and son pair alone.
Ryoma looked up from his pillow to look at his mother.
"Strange how?" he asked. Surely his mother wasn't telepathic. Ryoma thought as the image of Fuji and Yukimura molesting him came to view. He blushed red and groaned inwardly.
'Baka Fuji and Yukimura!' he cursed in his mind.
Somewhere in the Atobe mansion.
"Achoo!" both Yukimura and Fuji sneezed as they were reading in Keigo's library.
"Are you both okay?" Sanada asked as he saw his two lovers smile.
"Saa… I think somebody might be thinking about us." Fuji said as Yukimura nodded.
"Maybe it's Ryo-chan." Yukimura said brightly as Sanada sweat dropped.
'I love these two but their imaginations sure are wild.' He thought, not knowing how true the smiling duo's assumptions were.
Back with Ryoma.
"You can tell me Ryoma." Rinko continued to prod her son. Finally Ryoma caved.
"Well… It seems that the five of them are lovers. Yukimura and Fuji, the smiling pair, they sort of molested me in the carriage earlier today." Ryoma said as Rinko's eyes widened slightly.
"And you let them?" she asked skeptically. 'They better not have tried to mark him or else the spell I did would be un-done." Rinko thought to herself. Ryoma flushed.
"I tried to stop them. I gave them a couple of bruises before anything happened." Ryoma reassured her. Rinko smiled brightly and patted his head.
"Good boy." She said and kissed his cheeks.
"Get some rest Ryoma. Tomorrow we are going to visit The Momoshiro Family. There seems to be quite a few mysterious things happening to them recently." She said as she stood up, preparing to leave.
"Hai. Oyasumi okaa-san." Ryoma said and got under the covers. Rinko smiled.
"Oyasumi." She said before exiting her youngest son's room. As she walked away a few feet from Ryoma's room, she couldn't help but worry her secret would be revealed.
'I hope those young men don't tell the King they found me.' She prayed before continuing to walk to her chambers.
In another part of the state
A lean, well built and tall man who looked to be at the age of his late forties or early fifties was standing before a portrait in a large room of an equally large manor. His jet black hair was tied at the nape of his neck, giving him an aristocratic look. His cold, chocolate brown eyes gazed at the picture longingly. His hand reached up to trace the face of two figures.
One was a little girl with long, brown hair and a pair of warm almond colored eyes. Another was a spectacularly beautiful woman with the same colored hair as the little girl, dark brown eyes, almost black that had a caring look and a warm smile. He smiled sadly.
"Rinko… Where have you gone? Your mother's death was a hard blow to take and now I've lost the most precious gift she has ever given me." The man said to himself with a sigh. He walked away. His heart couldn't bear it.
'Damn those humans.' He thought darkly as images of the night his wife was murdered plagued his mind.
Flashback
" Hiroki… Help... me." A woman with long brown hair wheezed out as she tried desperately to cover her wounds.
"Sachiko." He cried out and rushed over to his wife. He tried to close the wounds but they were enchanted with spells not even he could break fast enough. The woman's eyes started to dull. She offered her husband one last smile.
"Hiroki… Kiss…me… one last… time…" she said weakly. He complied, covering her lips with his. Sachiko smiled and kissed back. She pulled away after a short while and smiled.
"Sayonara… Anta…" she breathed out before going lax in her husbands arms. Dead.
"No!" he screamed in agony, holding his wife's corpse close. His eyes shone brightly with disgust and hate. He swore to get his revenge.
End Flashback
Just as he sat on his throne, one of his underlings flew to him.
"What is it?" he asked in a cold voice, bright green eyes flashing. The poor servant cowered at the intense gaze before managing to stutter out;
"We have a lead to where Rinko-hime might be."
