The Falcon's Eye
By RandomRooster
This is just a poem I had written during the creation of chapter 8 of Aura Of Two. It's very random, and I am probably expecting alot of criticism saying it's much of a poem at all.
But I felt uplifted after writing this, and just thought I would share it will all of you.
Enjoy.
There, I see in the Falcon's Eye.
A creature of innocence, held against it's will, like a gun to a hostage.
There, I see in the Falcon's Eye.
A speck of hope, as the creature withdrew from the first attack, narrowly missing it's vital organs. But, alas, victory was followed by defeat, as it was caught, trapped again, faster than thunders brother.
There, I see in the Falcon's Eye.
A shimmer of despair, as the creature could no longer run. Caught between two forks of razor's edge, slicing through the stolen flesh, like a hatchet to a piece of defeated, disposed wood.
There, I see in the Falcon's Eye.
My capture. My torture. My sacrifice.
I feel myself lifted high, meeting old ones before me, then, dropped. My limbs, muscles, paws and head, are gifts to the sky catcher. As my soul is passed onto the Raptors kinder.
The Hare that I was, is now the my enemies trophy.
There, I see in the Falcon's Eye.
Horus, catching his prey.
So, there you have it! My first formal poem. I hope you like it!
If you didn't understand what this is about, I guess it's about the hunt of a Falcon to it's prey, and portraying the thoughts of the prey, which is a Hare, into a short poem, the Hare looking at the reflection of himself in the Falcon's eye, describing his own actions in the reflection.
I do love birds of prey, they are just amazing, inspirational, and magnificent. And of course, some people look upon them as threatening and scary, and I suppose this poem sort of helps that image. Whoops! But I think they are the best pieces of art in this world. Just excellence in a can.
You are welcome to leave your thoughts about it, and inform me if I have any glint of skill in poetry, or just a load of poop. This is just an experiment. If liked loads, I could make another poem. Up to you!
Thanks very much for reading!
