My first piece of fan fiction! I don't write all that often so bear with me. Let me know what you think. :)

Nymphadora Tonks has her legs folded tightly beneath her chin with her ghostly pale arms wound loosely around them. Remus Lupin stares at her, waiting for her to speak. He gaze is focused intently on her lips and he wishes he wasn't so far across from her in his tiny den. The Auror picks at her green nails and looks up slowly. Lupin notices her mouth forming into her pretty girlish grin.

"You're going to burn a hole through me if you keep staring like that", she says. He notices her devilish tone and he feels his face get unusually warm. He says nothing but hides his own wide smile and twiddles his thumbs.

With her grin still present, she rolls her eyes. "Silliness."

The girl with the blushing pink bob is well aware of why Lupin asked her to dinner. She is also quite aware of why she is sitting in his den with her coat off, revealing her favorite band T-shirt, The Killers, and her best pair of tattered jeans. What she doesn't know, is why the object of her affection is across the room.

Remus lets his shaggy brown hair fall in his face and asks himself how selfish can he be to ruin the life of the sprite-like girl just because she means everything to him. He closes his eyes.

Then some one breaks the silence.

"Alright! I've had my fill of staring awkwardly into the mess that is your hair!"

Before the man even looks up, he feels cold hands on the back of his neck, then something warm by his face.

Lupin hears his heart beat pounding furiously is his head and wonders if it's him or the house that's shaking. He knows the source of warmth as the only one in the room wearing something rose scented. He holds his breath.

Tonks is on her knees in front of him as he is hunched forward in the rocking chair. She lets her hands trace his rough jaw line with her icy fingertips and feels his shudder. She giggles in response.

He barely tilts he head up and now he is face to face with her, dangerously close. Perfectly close. He is about to look away out of sheer embarrassment when Tonks quickly places her hands on the back of his neck again, only this time she forces his face even closer to her own. If he were to speak, their lips would touch.

"How awfully tempting", he says in his head but he felt his lips graze hers. He realizes his filter seems to have disintegrated Tonks is practically beaming. Lupin shuts his eyes as his face color deepens into a charming shade of burgundy and he is afraid to think. So he doesn't…instead he turns off his mind for a few brief seconds and in those seconds he would both regret and cherish, he pins Tonks to the carpet. He kisses her with a smile playing on his lips. He opens his eyes for a brief second to notice what he's doing but he is too distracted to care about how wrong he thinks this all is. He sees that Tonks does not intend to stop any time soon and he is stunned to feel a heart beat as rapid as his own.

Tonks breaks the kiss to take in air. He takes the opportunity to move down to her neck and she feels his fingers steadily inching down her waist. Tonks then shuts her eyes tangles her fingers in his hair.

Remus feels himself start to pick her up with the intent of moving to the couch when he opens his eyes. He realizes he has come back into reality so Tonks still has her girlish grin on her face and is sitting comfortably in her chair and he realizes he has not stopped twiddling his thumbs.
