A/N: This is my first fanfiction in about two or so years, so I'm probably pretty rusty. Possible OOCness ahead and shameless amounts of fluff.

Liu Bei felt a bead of sweat meet his lips. His reflection stared back at him from inside the mirror as he tightened his tie. Though he acted with extreme politeness he had never felt right wearing such formal clothing. He looked himself over in the mirror. A grey suit and white button-up accompanied by a black tie – rather plain, but Liu Bei felt no need to dress in extravagance. After all, it was only a night out with his closest friends so that they could see that he was now a man with a fiancée. He would be surrounded by his brothers and best friends… so then why wouldn't the knot in his stomach loosen?

He stroked his goatee and examined his tie. It refused to lay flat. The thin end stuck out to the side rather than laying straight against his chest. Perhaps because he had tied it in a regular simple knot?

As his fingers moved up to loosen the tie from around his neck, the bathroom door burst open, his fiancée Sun Shang Xiang stepping in.

"Are you ready to go yet, Liu Bei? You're taking longer than a woman in here!"

Liu Bei spun around. "My apologies, Shang Xiang, but—" He stopped short.

Sun Shang Xiang looked absolutely stunning in a blood red dress that fit snugly comfortable against her frame. The knee-length dress showed off her wonderfully toned and smooth legs that were further complemented by a pair of simple red heels. The bangs on the right side of her forehead sat, clipped back into the rest of her hair. To finish everything off was a pair of crimson earrings that hung ever-so-slightly below her ear lobe.

"Ah, you look quite lovely," Liu Bei spoke the only words he could muster.

Shang Xiang grinned, but found herself giggling when she witnessed her fiancé's messy tie-tying job. "You should let me fix that for you," she said as she moved closer to him, placing her hands on the spastic tie. "You're hopeless, you know that?" she laughed.

Liu Bei averted his eyes from her gaze. "I-I'm sorry. It's just that this is something of a rare outing for us, don't you think?"

"You're not nervous, are you?"

"O-of course not! Well, that isn't entirely true, I suppose…"

Sun Shang Xiang could only smile as she pulled Liu Bei's tie tight and dropped it, letting it fall gently and flatly onto his chest. "Don't worry! We've been together with Guan Yu and the others for a long time. I'm sure we'll receive their blessings." She wrapped her fingers around his hand and pulled him out of the bathroom.

Feeling the warmth of her hands in his, Liu Bei felt a wave of relief crashing over him. He followed her outside, gripping her hand as she had his.
