A/N: I don't really like Jason. He's just...annoying. And he has Piper, and Leo always takes the back burner to her. So you know what? Just desserts. C;

Jason sat down next to Leo, who was fiddling with something (as always) and waited to get the curly-haired boy's attention. He had it within seconds, of course, along with a lopsided grin, and couldn't help an almost involuntary smile of his own.

"So what are you doing today, senior counselor?" he asked, somewhat playful, smile widening at the sudden blush on Leo's face.

"It's sort of a "run amuck" day in the Hephaestus cabin," Leo replied with an air of great dignity that he couldn't really pull off. It faded into something warm as he continued, looking at his hands, "Everyone's really excited about the bunker, and it's great to see them so happy. I wouldn't be able to get them to focus on anything else if I tried."

Which was a lie of course. Jason was of the opinion that there was only a handful of things in the Universe Leo couldn't do. If someone could somehow force a little self-confidence into him, he'd be even more amazing. "Okay, but what are you gonna do?" he pressed, for no real reason than to keep the conversation going. The two of them never really got any time to themselves; and it was mostly Jason's fault.

Since when am I too busy for my best friend?

Leo shrugged, looking a little puzzled at the attention. "I dunno. Build something." His eyes strayed as he spoke, they always did, and caught sight of something distant. Jason watched them spark - they seemed to glow - and Leo's hair started to steam. "Or maybe- "

"Leo?"

Jason felt his chest tighten in- something fierce that wasn't quite anger as his Latino friend's head snapped up and the glow in his eyes brightened as he spotted a certain green-eyed demigod, finally arriving for the summer.

"Percy!" Leo was off the bench and all but sprinting to the older camper's side, throwing his arms around him in a really familiar way. And Percy, damn him, only smiled and ruffled his hair. "You're finally here! What did your mom say?"

"She'd love to have you over, of course," the green-eyed boy said like it was common sense. "She always loves it when I bring friends home, and Grover and Annabeth don't count for some reason. Tyson's family, and Nico's - well, he's a cousin, I guess, and he never really comes over anyway- "

Leo shoved him playfully when the words would have gotten self-concious and awkward, in that knowing way of his- so perceptive to the change in someone's mood, so willing to make things easier. Jason clenched his fists. "Alright, game night is SO on, first chance we get! You better bring your A-game, cause once I get to know the controls they'll totally be rooting for me."

"That's cheating, Leo-"

Leo's laugh was charming and Percy tossed a helpless "what-can-you-do" smile at Jason, who forced a pretty convincing smile back.

Percy was a guy who- well, he couldn't be mad at him.

But he could sure as hell be jealous.

Watching Leo thread his arms securely around Percy's waist and grin at him when Percy glanced at him in surprise; and Percy resting his arms on Leo's shoulders in turn, that affectionate smile returning to his face. That smile that made Leo's eyes glow in the way they only did when he was far away in his own head and dreaming impossible things.

Percy was someone Jason couldn't compete with, Jason decided as he watched the two of them forget everything else in the world..

My smile doesn't make him glow.
