Whoo! Even though I only got two reviews, it's nice to know that the person whose story has inspired me to write this wrote one! Actually, I'm a little surprised that I got two reviews considering that Fusion Fall isn't exactly the most popular fandom out there. Oh well, I should be grateful anyways.

The first chapter was slow and it was only the beginning... but don't worry, things are going to pick up in the second chapter so you don't have to be concerned with things going dull. Now onto the story!

Disclaimer: I don't own Fusion Fall or Cartoonnetwork. I do, however, own Allison and Jillian and whatever other OCs I might add in the future.

Chapter Two

The first thing Allison was aware of was the dull painful throbbing of her head. Everything hurt, but her head was the most noticeable cause of pain since it was giving her a headache that made even thinking an effort. The girl buried her face into the ground to distract her from the pain and found herself breathing in dirt instead. She sneezed and the wave of pain increased so much that it took gritting her teeth and a lot of mental strain to not throw up.

...wait...

Dirt?

Wasn't she at the lab? Why the heck was she tasting dirt in her mouth?

Forcing her eyes open, Allison saw that she was staring at a rocky wall. Which was weird since she didn't remember seeing a rock wall of any kind at her sister's genius friend's secret laboratory. A lot of delicate and expensive machinery but no really realistic looking rock walls.

"Ugh..." She groaned as she slowly forced herself up on to her knees clutching the left side of her head. The pain was a little more bearable now and it was more of an annoyance than a hindrance. "Hey Dexter, what happened?" She asked, looking for the red head.

But he wasn't there.

In fact, Allison was now certain that she wasn't in the lab any more or even her own universe.

Her jaw dropped slightly as she saw that not only was she outside but everything also looked completely different. She could see partially destroyed buildings in front of her, some of them even happened to be sunk into the ground. It was like a scene straight out of a post apocalypse movie. And while the sight of the fallen buildings was disturbing, what disturbed her even more was the sky.

It was no longer a clear blue colour but an ominous light green colour that made Allison's stomach lurch.

Where the hell was she?

Swiveling her head around to see what else was different from what she was used to, all she could see for miles around were fallen structures and ominous green that was definitely not grass. It looked more like goo.

Dipping her hands into a puddle that was within reaching distance, she rubbed it on her fingers before quickly wiping it off on her sister's dark jeans. Whatever the goo was, it hurt!

"Jillian's going to kill me," She muttered as she tried to scrub the acidic stuff off when she felt it dissolving the jeans. Her sister may have been a science nerd, but she also cared very much about her clothes. Allison also gave the white jacket she was wearing a quick look over to see if there was any goo or grass stains on it. Just to be safe, she took off her white jacket and gave the black tank top a once over as well.

As she put on the jacket after ensuring that her sister's other clothes were safe (for the moment at least), she heard something approaching her fast and looked up. What she saw made her jaw drop even lower than it did when she saw the post apocalyptic scene a few minutes ago.

Heading towards her at a very fast pace were what she could only describe as green goo monsters. Vicious green goo monsters with blazing red eyes and that didn't look at all friendly. It only took one look for her to determine that the things were no allies. They were somewhat comical in appearance, but something in Allison told her she should run.

And that's exactly what she did.

She ran.

Being the athletic twin who played field hockey and other sports (but mostly field hockey) she was a fast runner and was able to out run them faster and longer than someone who hardly exercised. But even with her endurance and stamina from being active a lot, she would eventually run out of breath and be forced to bend over and take in several deep breaths.

That would give those things enough time to catch up with her. As slow as they were, they seemed to have never ending endurance which made up for their lack of speed.

As luck would have it, her foot caught on something and she went flying onto the ground. Hard.

Despite the aching muscles and shortness of breath, Allison forced herself up to continue running. She couldn't afford to get caught; she had no idea what those things were capabale of, but she had a feeling that she didn't want to stick around long enough to find out.

It turned out that she didn't have to worry about that because just as soon as she was prepared to make a run for it again, the sound of something whistling through the air and the sight of green goo exploding around her made her stop in place.

Turning around she saw two people, a girl and a boy who were a few years older than Allison, running towards her. She nearly collapsed in relief as not only had she been saved from the wrath of the goo monsters, she had finally found actual people she could talk to and ask about what in the world was going on.

The girl had dark brown skin and long black hair that was done up in a braid. She had on a blue jumpsuit with white lines, black shorts and tugged over her head was a red cap that was pulled over her face and hid her eyes. The boy who was with her had paler skin, brown hair and green eyes. Green seemed to be a theme with him as he was also wearing a green sports jacket that went well with his eyes. He was also wearing a pair of jeans that were lighter in colour than hers.

"Holy Cannolli, where the heck did you-?" The girl cut herself off as she got a better look at Allison. "Jillian?"

Her voice was filled with incredulity and disbelief.

As far as Allison knew, she had never seen this girl in her life. And she knew who Jillian's friends were, so how in the world did this girl know who her sister was?

The boy sucked in his breath, causing Allison to turn to him. "It can't be." He sounded as incredulous as his companion. "Jillian's-"

He didn't get any further with that sentence as Allison found herself staring at the barrel of a gun, courtesy of the other girl. It didn't look like an actual gun; it was more of a plastic water gun, but it probably functioned all the same and if it were to fire, Allison would definitely drop dead on the spot.

"Fusion," The girl hissed. "How dare you-"

She yelped when Allison's hand shot out, grabbed the arm holding on to the weapon and then twisted it to make her let go. A few seconds later, the girl was face down on to the ground with the weapon pointed at the back of her head.

Allison wasn't even aware that she had disarmed the girl and taken the gun from her until she was sitting on top of her and had it pressed against her head. She had only seen the weapon and acted on instinct, remembering a move she saw on television that had been used to get out of a situation similar to the one she had suddenly found herself in. As she wondered what she was supposed to do next, she heard the click of another gun and saw out of the corner of her eyes that the boy's weapon was aimed at her.

"Let go of her." He growled.

Allison glared at him. "How about we make a deal? I let her go and you don't shoot me. Also, I keep the gun."

"The gun stays with us."

"I won't shoot as long as you don't. Besides, even if I do decide to break the deal it's two against one. That's enough for one of you to tackle me and the other to take the weapon."

The boy lowered his weapon slightly, internally struggling with Allison's proposition. What he didn't know was that it was a bluff. She had no intention of shooting anyone, but she also had no intention getting shot at either. She could hear her heart thumping at what had to be a hundred miles per hour and her hands were sweaty, but she continued to press down on the girl and hold on tightly to the weapon.

"Ben, just agree to it! Numbuh 5 can hardly breathe with her sittin' on top of me like this!" The girl who was now known as 'Numbuh 5' shouted.

"Are you implying that I'm fat?" Allison asked, making Ben snort.

"Okay, deal." He finally said. He raised his gun at Allison again. "But no funny stuff."

"I promise." Allison rolled her eyes, but got off anyways. She made sure to stay a safe distance from either of them so that they wouldn't be able to disarm her easily if they decided not to uphold their end of the deal.

The three of them stared at each other, debating how to start off the conversation when Allison decided to speak up first.

"My name is Allison. Not Jillian. Jillian happens to be my twin sister."

Ben gave her a look of disbelief, obviously not believing Allison words while Numbuh 5 looked thoughtful.

"As far as I know, Jillian didn't have a twin sister." Ben said.

"I'm not sure Ben, I heard through the grape vine that she did. And that something happened to her. Allison, right? What's your middle and last names?"

Allison wanted to know what that had to do with anything, but decided to answer anyways. "It's Charlotte and Campbell respectively. And if you have to know my sister's middle name, it's Samantha." And what did Numbuh 5 mean by that statement 'used to'?

Numbuh 5 continued to look deep in thought while Ben just stood in place, unsure of what to do next except keep the weapon trained on Allison.

Numbuh 5 then snapped her fingers and said, "What's the date? Include the year too."

"The date?" Both Ben and Allison said at the same time.

Numbuh 5 'tched' in annoyance. "Yes, the date. Tell us what the date is."

Despite how weird the question was considering the situation, Allison decided now was not the the time to debate on it. "It's January 4th 2009. Why?"

Ben looked at her like she was crazy while his companion had come to a conclusion of some sort as there was a look of triumph on her face. "Ah ha!"

"2009?" Ben said in disbelief. "That's like three years ago!"

"Three years?" Allison repeated in the same incredulous tone. "This is... three years into the future?"

"Yeah." He lowered his weapon and was staring at her as if she was touched in the head. "Three years ago. The date you just gave us is ten days before the invasion happened nearly three years ago to be exact."

"What?" Allison's head was beginning to spin from information over load.

Post-apocalypse setting, fallen buildings, green goo, goo monsters...

All in the span of the three years? What the hell happened during the time she had been gone?

This is a lot shorter than the first chapter, but I couldn't bring myself to write any more and I wanted to get this out. Besides, don't you think the revelation should be revealed to her in the next chapter? Don't want to rush it!

Anyways... don't forget to review! Tell me what you think!
