We know how Katniss Everdeen feels about the Capitol and the Hunger Games, but why does the Capitol feel about Katniss? A look at the Capitol as they watch the 74th Hunger Games.

It's that time again. The time that every Capitol citizen eagerly waits for all year. Tomorrow is reaping day! The first day of...
The Hunger Games.
"Gather gather, one and all! Wonderful and stunning citizens of Panem's best, the Capitol, perk your ears. It is time for..." the announcer paused dramatically. At this point a large crowd had gathered around the shimmering and dazzling stage that the man was standing on. Its bright lights changed colors rapidly and beautifully. The crowd was going wild. They looked like a pack of crazed exotic birds, but hey, who cares? This IS the Capitol, after all. So the announcer man paused before opening his mouth. He had paper white skin, big ruby red lips, black shimmering nails, giant diamond studded rings, black and purple striped boots that went up to his knees (it wasn't hard, he was quite short) and curled in spirals at the toe with bells at the tip. He was wearing a bright green jumpsuit on top of it all. It is very fitting that his name if Elfit, he looked quite the part of an elf indeed. Anyway, he stared down the crowd with bright purple eyes (FAKE-but in the Capitol what isn't?) and shouted "It is time...for...THE HUNGER GAMES!"
Immediately the crowd erupted in an explosion of cheers, whoops, screams, and whistles. Tonight, every Capitol citizen would be making lavish preparations for the games to come. The crowd dispersed to carry on with business. Children threw foam spears and plastic knives at each other, and eagerly awaited the show to come. The little boys couldn't wait for the blood bath. The little girls couldn't wait to see the interviews and opening ceremony, full of beautiful outfits and plenty of luxuries. Everyone in the Capitol was SO jealous. They wished they could be in the Games too! It all looked pretty easy from their view point. The rest of the afternoon went by quickly and everyone across Panem was quite restless.
