Hermione stood back, as if the minutes that had passed still hadn't made her believe what she was seeing. Draco Malfoy, the snotty pure-blood extraordinaire, here? And.. just apparated behind a tree? She was torn between laughing and reprimanding him.
Seeing her smile, Draco snarled. "Think it's funny, do you?" He walked to her and, Hermione, surprised at the venom in his voice, swallowed back a chuckle. "No, not at all. But in Merlin's name, what are you doing here?" Silence met her question. Ignoring her, Draco stiffly walked up the steps. She winced, expecting him to bodily harm her when he continued inside the boarding house.
"Malfoy! What are you doing?" She quickly jogged to catch up to his long, striding and obviously angry steps, her confusion rising with each passing second when, two flights and millions of questions on the tip of her tongue later, they stopped outside a door exactly one room away from her.
She was about to open her mouth to break the charged silence when Malfoy started to feel his pockets. When he turned up a key, he violently wrestled it into the lock. The second the door admitted entrance, he slipped inside and slammed the door in her face
