(A/N): Hey everyone who has bothered to keep up with this story, this chapter has unexpected fight scene. Unexpected for who fights in it, more specifically.
3rd person P.O.V.
"So I guess I'll see you tomorrow" asked Bill. "Ah, actually I was going to spend time with Rocky like we always do" said Cece. "Alright well you two have fun, I'll see you at some point" said Bill turning as Cece walked into her apartment. "I think it's time for a little talkin' Ole' Blue" said Bill reaching for his guitar case once he got back into his apartment. He then walked out onto the fire escape. He sat back on the window ledge and plugged his guitar into the amp. He then took out a laptop from the case and set it up. He then started to strum the first notes of Better Life.
As he was playing he became aware of someone above him so he started to sing the lyrics. If they're up there might as well give them a show, he thought. After he was finished, he called up to the person above him. "Hey, I know your up there, you might as well come on down here" he called. He heard footsteps as the person came into view. "Rocky, I didn't expect you to be out here" Bill said. "Hi, Bill" she said glumly. "What's the matter?" asked Bill. "Nothing" she said obviously faking a smiling. "Well come over here and sit down" said Bill motioning to the window seal. As she took a seat, Bill looked at her. She was dressed pretty much the same way she had the last time he had seen her. "Hey I got a song I want you to listen to and tell me your opinion" he said pulling up the media player on his laptop.
He then played She Don't Want the World. About halfway through the song she started to cry. By the song ended she jumped up and tried to run away. Before she could run any where Bill had jumped onto and ran on the edge of the fire escape and right into her path as she made her way up. "Hey what's wrong?" asked Bill leaning on one rail and putting his legs against the other to keep the path blocked. "Tell me or you aren't going anywhere" said Bill pulling out his N.A.T.O. knife. "Ahh! What are you doing! I haven't been a bad girl! Please don't punish me!" Rocky screamed. "Rocky, what are you talking about, I would never lay a hand on you, much less a knife. I was just going to clean under my fingernails, I'm southern, not a Neanderthal" said Bill pushing the knob back down making the blade retract. "Rocky, I'm serious what is going on," asked Bill, " and why did you say you weren't a 'bad girl' as you put it and begged me not to punish you." "Can we please go in side first?" she asked. "Yeah-Yeah of course" said Bill.
"So what's the deal?" asked Bill looking a crying Rocky. At first she just stood there then turned around then lifted her shirt to expose the small of her back that was covered in scratches and scars. "Unholy Heck, what in the devil happened" Bill practically yelled. Hearing this Rocky started to cry harder. "Th-That's n-not all" she stuttered. She dropped the hem of her shirt back down and pulled up her sleeves. They had lacerations of all shapes and sizes. "Who did this to you" asked Bill through clenched teeth. "No please, I deserve these. I was a bad girl, I acted horribly like a brat" she said crying even harder which Bill at first thought was impossible. "Rocky, it doesn't matter how you act, no one should hurt you like this. That's why you screamed earlier, isn't it?" said Bill. "Yes, but it was because I back talked him" she said then went wide-eyed and made a break for the door. "Oh no you don't" yelled Bill as he drew his knife and hurled it at the door. It struck at just the right angle to stick the door to the frame.
"Rocky, who did this to you" asked Bill forcefully as he walked up to Rocky with his fist clenched. "Please I'm sorry, don't yell at me," she begged squeezing as close to the door as she could and sliding down it. "Rocky, I'm not going to hurt you. I want to help you. OK?" said Bill lowering his voice to a normal speech and kneeling down. "Hey, look I'm going to call Cece back, she called a few minutes ago and I missed the call. I'll be right back," said Bill standing up. "Please don't tell her about what I showed you" Rocky begged. "OK, I won't tell what you showed me," said Bill, " why don't you lay down on the sofa."
As Bill left the room he grabbed his Blackberry Curve off the table beside the bed in his room. Gee wiz, he thought, second day and I'm dealing with this; things were way less complicated in Vicksburg. After 2 rings he heard a slightly annoyed voice " About time you called back." "Hey easy baby, I was trying to get through to Rocky and I remembered you called and I got the idea of getting you to come over and talk to her" Bill said sitting down on the bed and rubbing his tired eyes since he had been up since 4:30 that morning and it was close to 10:00 p.m. "Why are you trying to get through to her as you put it?" asked Cece. "She made me promise not to tell you what I saw, but she never said you couldn't see for yourself," said Bill. "Alright I'll be over in 30 minutes," replied Cece. "Come through the window OK," said Bill. "Sure thing" she answered.
Sure enough, in thirty minutes Cece climbed through the window waking up Rocky and shocking her. "Cece, why are you here" asked Rocky standing and backing up toward the door. "Don't bother Rocky, you ain't leaving till you and Cece talk" said Bill standing by the door. "Alright, I'm going down the road. I saw a convenience store and Bill needs a Mountain Dew," said Bill grabbing a rope. "Why the rope" asked Rocky standing in the middle of the room with a deer in headlights look. "I'm tying the door so you can't get out, I'll text you when I get back Cece" said Bill turning to leave and walking toward the door.
