The Final Chapter
The rest of Harry's first year passed well and without any causes of concern. At the end of the year when the end of year results came out, the people in Harry's group were the top 12 people in the year; Harry, Hermione, Luna, Padma, Parvati, Neville, Daphne, Astoria, Terry, Tracy, Dean and Seamus in that order. Draco, Crabbe, Goyle and Ron were all tied for the lowest in the year, a quite a feat for them as they were averaging Trolls in all their subjects while Harry's group were all Acceptable-Outstanding in everything.
At the end of year leaving feast, the Great Hall was decked in red and gold as Gryffindor had won the House Cup while Ravenclaw had won the Quidditch Cup, which meant that ¾ of their group were celebrating a win. At the top table, Arianna was sitting glaring at Albus, who had decided to stick a magical whoopee cushion on her seat at lunch. This meant that most of the students (and staff) were laughing at the fact that the defeater of Grindlevald and the only person Lord Voldemort ever feared was cowering from his baby sister. Harry and Neville (who were used to this as both Arianna and Augusta had been annoying Albus for as long as they could remember), along with Remus and Sirius were ignoring what was happening at the top table as it happened almost every day in the holidays.
The next day found Harry, Neville, Luna, Hermione, Parvati, Padma, Terry, Dean, Seamus, Daphne, Astoria and Tracy piling into a carriage of the Hogwarts Express, on their way home from their first year at Hogwarts. Everyone was talking about what they were doing in the holidays. Harry and Neville were inviting everyone over to Potter Place for a joint birthday party on July 29th. Hermione was going on holiday to France with her parents who were muggle dentists. Parvati and Padma were going to India to visit their grandmother in her small village. Seamus and Dean (who were now best friends) were going away to America with both their families. Luna was going with her dad to Sweden to search for Crumpled-Horned Snorkacks. Tracy, Daphne and Astoria were staying at Greengrass Manor on their own (with just the house-elves for company) for 3 weeks because their parents were away on business.
As the train pulled into platform nine and three quarters, all the students went their different ways. Neville and Harry both floo'd to Potter Place to wait for Arianna, Sirius, Remus and Albus to finish with administrative tasks at Hogwarts. What the four adults didn't know (but Arianna probably guessed) was that they had a lot of prank things stashed away since their last raid on Zonko's, so the two boys decided to welcome the adults home in true Potter-Longbottom style. When the five adults (Augusta had joined them) floo'd in, they unknowingly set off a chain reaction. Within seconds, all of them were covered in different colour changing powders and many other weird things.
"Harry James Potter" Arianna yelled.
"Neville Franklin Longbottom" Augusta yelled.
"What in the name of Merlin made you think that this was a good idea" they both yelled at the same time.
Harry and Neville turned to each other before saying, in unison "Uncle Bat said to do it and even gave us some of the potions. Blame him, not us." They then smiled sweetly at their great-grandmothers before running off to play catch on their broomsticks. Arianna and Augusta shook their heads before making a mental note to have a go at Severus Snape next September. The five adults then settled down to have a chat without the two boys interrupting them.
Outside, Harry and Neville were flying around while trying to catch the apple that they were throwing. Neville accidentally threw it near the apple tree, but Harry gave chase. Unfortunately, Harry didn't turn in time after catching the apple and collided into the tree. He then fell through the branches and landed on the floor with an enormous crack. Neville immediately flew down to see if Harry was alright, but he couldn't feel any pulse.
Inside, the adults were enjoying a nice chat when Neville came flying in shouting "Harry fell off his broom through the apple tree. He's not breathing."
Arianna immediately ran out to the garden and started casting spells on Harry. Yelling at Albus to contact St. Mungo's she kept sending spells at Harry's broken body. One minute later, a healer from St. Mungo's arrived. She couldn't do anything for Harry and pronounced him dead. The whole family wept, with Arianna leaning over his body. After five minutes, Arianna thought she felt Harry's breath on her cheek. She quickly cast a spell and a white light appeared around his body. Harry was alive.
Unbeknown to everyone, Lord Voldemort had not died that night, but was instead left as a spirit, anchored to the ground by his six Horcruxes; Salazar Slytherin's locket, Helga Hufflepuff's Cup, Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem, Marvolo Gaunt's Ring, Tom Riddle's Diary and Harry Potter's Scar. Because of the love that Arianna was pouring into Harry's body, all the Horcruxes were destroyed because they could not bear the amount of love magic that was coursing through Harry's veins. It caused a chain reaction which ended with Lord Voldemort giving out an inhuman scream and disappearing from view. Lord Voldemort was well and truly dead.
