Chapter 2: Is it really you?

Sora woke up with a headache. Why did his head hurt so much? He checked where he was and got up from bed. His head was sore for an odd reason.

He hisses in pain as he spotted an aspirin pill bottle on a desk. He decides to take it and open it. After taking the pill, he spots a note that is pinned onto the refrigerator and decides to read it:

Dear Sora,

I'm sorry that couldn't greet you in the morning, but I had errands to do. Please wake up Riku, Tidus, Kairi, and Selphie if they're still asleep. I'll be back at the villa later. Make yourself at home! If you're wondering where you are, please ask the young man name Squall Leonheart. Don't call him Squall. He hates that name so please call him Leon. Don't question, why just do it. He is young man at the local inn. He volunteered to give you and you friends a tour around Twilight Town and the high school across the way. If you're hungry, there if food inside the fridge. Go ahead and heat anything up inside. Make sure you don't blow up the microwave! All your school stuff are on your dresser. If you need anything, please call me!

-Love you always, Gram

After Sora finished reading the note that his grandma had put on the refrigerator, he then went to open the refrigerator to get him something to eat.

Luckily, he found Eggo Waffles, sausages, a breakfast bowl, and some tuna fish casserole in the fridge and cupboards. He almost threw up in his mouth when he saw the casserole. He picked up the Eggo Waffles and put them in the toaster. Sora left the kitchen and went to the other rooms to see if his friends were awake.

He noticed that his friends were nowhere to be found.

"Sora! You're always waking up late!" Riku snorted from behind.

Turning around, Sora saw that his friends were already dressed and awake.

"Well... I had a hard time setting my alarm clock." Sora said, embarrassed.

"You still can't set that alarm clock? I gave you that two years ago!" Tidus said, surprised.

"I read the directions... but they're so complicated..." Sora says while fidgeting with his fingers.

"Sora...sometimes I worry about you." Tidus says.

"Hurry up, Sora! Get dressed or we'll leave you behind again," Riku snorted, "And I am not going to wait for you."

Sora gave his friends one of his famous pout. Kairi tried to look away but avoiding the brunet's pout was impossible.

"We will never leave you Sor-Sor," Kairi started before she playfully hit Riku's shoulder, "Right, Selphie, Riku, and Tidus?"

"Erm... uh... dammit Sora, you're too cute, I give up!" Tidus tried to avoid the brunet's pout but he gave in to his cuteness.

"Yeah, you're too cute to ignored!" Selphie agreed as she pulled Sora into bone-crushing hug.

"Riku, you wouldn't leave me, would you?" Sora asked, his eyes watering.

Riku sighed. "Fine," He said, "But you better be out in like twenty minutes. or we leaving you." Sora grinned triumphantly as he scurried to the bathroom with some clothes. He was shocked that Riku gave in so quickly. He was only one of his friends who tried and succeeded in resisting the pout.

Once inside the bathroom, the brunet stripped out of his pajamas and grabbed three towels and bar of soap. Hopping in the shower, he turned on the knob where the water was released. He cleansed all his body parts with his washcloth before he drenching himself of all the lather. Afterwards, he dried himself off before grabbing the Colgate anti-cavity fluoride toothpaste to put on tooth-brush, put on some deodorant, cleaned the tub, and got dressed.

Sora rushed back to where his friends were awaiting his return to see they were already gone.

'Where did they go?' Sora wondered.

Suddenly the brunet's phone went off.

Sora answered. "Hello, who is this?"

"This is Riku. We're sorry that we left but Squall the guy who was going to pick us up was, well very angry and ordered for us to get in jeep, but don't worry, we're not too far from the villa."

"Did you just call him Squall? Are you?" Sora began to sweatdropped.

"I didn't call him Squall, Tidus did!" Riku defended.

"Just don't call him Squall. He hates when people call him that just call him Leon."

"Why does he get so angry?"

"I don't know, but can you ask him if he can come back to get me?"

"Sure thing, but no promises."

Sora waited for Riku's voice to return back to the phone.

"Um Sora?" Riku coughed.

"What did he say?"

"No."

"What? No? How does he expect me to get there?"

"He said use your legs." Sora could hear Tidus laughing in the background. "Just... try and find the high school. That's the last stop so we'll be there eventually."

The brunet clenched his teeth before he hung up his phone and immediately left the villa and started walking around Twilight Town. Apparently, he had no clue where or what direction he should be going. He even had a map (it was in the living room), but alas, he was a horrible navigator.

He tried asking passerbys where Twilight High School was, but nobody stopped to help him. They busied themselves with their own business. Sora noticed he was walking in circle so he decided to sit down at a bench to rest. Dropping his head down Sora almost felt like crying. Usually whenever he was alone, he would start crying because of that incident when he was alone once when he was younger.

"Dilly dally, shilly shally! I promise I'll take care of it, ok? Now go enjoy yourself!" A female voice said.

"If you say so, Tifa. I'll be right back." A male voice replied back.

Sora turned his head over to the right see a woman who had long black hair with doe brown eyes and a muscular man with spikey blonde hair that resembled a Chocobo with Mako blue eyes.

'Wow, he's so pretty!' Sora thought as he admired the blonde in many ways as possible. What he didn't know that blonde was walking over towards. And his eyes were watering.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"I...I...I got lost." Sora stammered, his face reddened and he looked at the ground. He felt the bench shift a little.

He looked up when he felt the man put an arm around his shoulder. "If you want I can give you a ride?" He suggested.

"That's very kind of you, but are you sure about giving a complete stranger a ride?" Sora asked, suspicious.

"I don't really care. Besides, if I say no to a cutie like you, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself." The blonde said as he smiled softly.

"Why would you do that?" Questioned Sora.

"You sure do ask a lot of questions?" He mused.

Actually, if this chocobo was giving him a ride to school why not agree? "Okay, if you don't mind then I would take your offer." Sora said. The other man nodded.

"I'm Cloud, by the way. What's your name?"

"Sora Aiwaza."

"Follow me." Cloud said, beckoning the brunet to following him.

On way there, Cloud and Sora learned a lot about one another as they made their way towards the parking lot. One talk with brunet made Cloud interested in learning more and more about him. When Sora talked, Cloud listened to what he had to say and didn't dared interrupt. It seemed like whenever Sora talked his worries were washed away. By the time they were at Cloud's ride, they felt like they knew each other their entire lives.

"It doesn't look like you live around these parts. Where are you from?" Cloud questioned.

"Um, I live in Destiny Islands. I transferred because my father and brothers wanted me to come here and live with them. They have a surprise for me." Sora explained.

"Ah," Cloud said, "I'm suppose to go to school there with my friends but I live in the city."

"City?" Sora repeated, tilting his head to the side.

"Yes, you see I don't come from these parts either. I'm actually a foreign exchange student." Cloud informed.

Nearby Sora heard girls whispering in the background. He knew what they were talking about was Cloud. Girls didn't see Sora as hot or cool, but rather cute and innocent instead.

"Do girls always hang around you?" Sora asked.

Cloud nodded his head.

"Why does it bother you?"

"No, it just reminds me of something that's all," Sora stated as he adverted his eyes from Cloud's gaze, "My friend Riku... he always have girl chasing after him... confessing to him... buying him gifts... he always gets the attention while I am forgotten and he doesn't even acknowledge the affection either." By way Sora talked about Riku, you could tell from his voice that his feelings towards the young man was envy and anger.

"So you're jealous of your friend, Riku?"

"A bit." Sora admitted.

"Don't worry you'll have your chance to shine." Cloud chucked as he patted the brunet on his shoulder.

When they got to the parking lot, Sora glanced every where for a suitable car that might be the chocobo's but unfortunately none of cars fit his personality that he had imagined.

"Where's you car?" Sora asked.

"I don't have a car. I sold it." Cloud said.

"Why would you sold your car?"

"Well, I thought it better me to have a motorcycle because... well, I don't really don't know. I just got one because I felt like it."

"Sorry for asking some many questions." Sora mumbled.

"It's okay," Cloud reassured him, "Besides I loved talking to you."

Cloud pulled Sora on to the bike before tossing Sora on a helmet which he put on. Come to think of it, this was first time Sora ever been on motorcycle so when Cloud told him to wrap his arms around Cloud's waist, the brunet blushed red with embarrassment.

"Sora, if you don't want to fall, you better hold tighter." Cloud said which made Sora blush even redder than he already was. Sora wrapped his hands around Cloud's waist.

"So Riku gets all the girls, huh?" Cloud looked back at Sora when there was a red light.

"Yeah, Riku's popular. He always has a different girlfriend or boyfriend every week. He's an incredible athlete. His test scores are on the advanced level. Everyone always want to be his friend. Well, everyone just look up to him." Sora said.

"Being popular isn't everything, it's actually a real pain in the ass if I say so myself. If I were you, just be yourself." Cloud advised.

Sora thanked Cloud for his advice before he started the engine and began driving.

"Sora, hold tighter please." He repeated. Sora did as told.

"Hey what year are you in high school?" Cloud inquired.

"I'm a freshman." Sora answered.

"What are your plans when you're out of high school?" Another question.

"Well I don't really any right now." Sora replied, rubbing back of his head sheepishly.

"Don't worry, you'll find your dream." Cloud assured Sora and looked over his shoulder briefly before turning back to the road.

"You're a nice person, Cloud." Sora commented.

"Well..." Cloud struggled with right words to say.

"If I told a secret would you keep it?" Cloud questioned.

"Of course I would!" Sora exclaimed.

"You're a good kid, I like that about you Sora." Cloud smiled softly.

"I like you, too!" Sora smiled back.

"Well, when I was little a meteorite hit by mother when she was still pregnant with me. I have mako inside of me because of it and if I too much, I'll die. There is some other stuff but I will tell you later." Cloud said.

"Hey, don't forget the most important thing!" Sora shouted.

"What's that?" Cloud raised an eyebrow.

"Pinkie swear." Sora answered, holding up his pinkie finger.

Cloud frowned as his eyebrows furrowed. "Sora, I'm driving!" He said "And do we really have to?"

"Of course we have to or it wouldn't be a pinkie swear!" Sora uttered out.

"If you say so." Cloud gave in as they swerved into the parking lot of a school. He turned around and intertwined his pinkie finger with Sora's in recognition. Then, he motioned to the school.

"Here we are, Twilight High." Cloud motioned Sora to hop off the motorcycle.

"Wow, this place is so beautiful" Sora gaped in awe.

"Just like Clo―" Soon as Sora began he immediately stopped.

"It's getting hot." Cloud noted.

'I better get something to drink before I get dehydrated.' Cloud said to himself before he realized Sora haven't left yet.

"Sora! Earth to Sora!" Two fingers snapped in front of the brunet's face which made the brunet's eyes come into focus again.

"Sorry about that, I just zoned out." Sora apologized.

"You better head to class if I were you." Cloud mentioned.

"Oh yeah, I totally forgot!" Sora face palmed himself.

Cloud laughed, "Don't worry about it."

'You're an idiot! Idiot! Why am I such a ditz?' Sora shouted mentally. He wanted to whack himself side head so badly.

"T―T-Thank y―you." Sora stuttered.

"You're too cute. Well you better go to class you already one hour late." Cloud ruffled Sora's hair and hopped back on his motorcycle. He revved it and waved goodbye to Sora who waved back and watched him leave.

After watching Cloud drive off, Sora walked into the office. He already had his schedule and knew where his classes were located. All he needed to know was what time it was in order for him to go to whatever period everyone was currently in. The rather pretty secretary smiled pleasantly at him when he stepped through the doorway.

"Excuse me, Mrs. Higgins? I was wondering if you might tell me what time it is?" Sora asked, looking at the name tag on side of her breast.

"It's 9:56 a.m. darling, second period is in four minutes." She answered, smacking some gum in her mouth.

"Thank you." Sora bowed before walking to the door.

"By the way, if you need anything I will be here, hun." She told her.

Sora smiled at her before leaving the office that's when he scanned down at his schedule. Here were his list of classes:

Period 1: Drama Class
Period 2: Science
Period 3: Psychical Education
Period 4: Engineering
Period 5: English
Period 6: Algebra

He prayed to God that Roxas or Ventus would be in one of his classes. Hopefully, Vanitas wasn't in any of his classes. Preferably none.

"Yoohoo, Sora! Sora!" Kairi called over towards Sora.

"Kairi, Riku, Selphie, Tidus!" Sora gasped, looking over at his friends.

"Hey! Aren't ya missing' someone, man?" A familiar voice asked.

"Wakka!" Sora exclaimed.

"Yeah, it's me. I'm sorry I couldn't leave with you guys the day when you were going, man, but I had to leave because I found out that if I play Blitzball at this school, there's a 100% chance of getting a scholarship." Wakka explained.

"Well, enough chit chat we better head to our next class before we are late." Kairi said, leading the way to their next class. Sora and the others followed shortly behind her.

'At least in this class, there's some familiar people.' Sora observed as he glanced around. He saw some people he knew. For instance, Namine, his friend from when they were little.

As everyone took their seats Sora tried to find where he should sit at.

"Sora! Over here!" A familiar voice called out.

'I know this voice! It's.. It's...' Sora exclaimed to himself.

He turned around to see Roxas waving his hands frantically in air so that his younger brother could see him. Dramatically, both twins ran in slow motion like in one of romantic movies that neither of two characters haven't seen each other in years or months to that fact. Roxas pulled Sora into a tight embrace as they eyes watered in happiness. They were relieved to see each other after years of seperation.

"Oh Roxy, I missed you so much! I didn't want you to leave you! You or Ven nor Van! I wanted to stay with you! I wanted us to be a family again! I have so many things to tell it's ridiculous!" Sora babbled on and on how much he missed his twin.

"Sor-Sor, I also wanted to see now that have I'm so relieve." Roxas's words voiced the truth.

"I thought of you whenever I went." Sora noted.

"You haven't forgotten our promise, have you?" Roxas asked, raising an inquiring eyeborw.

"Not a day or year nor month has passed by where I've forgotten our promise." Sora said in most sincere voice that you ever heard.

"Aren't you forgetting someone?" Sora turned around to see Ven.

"Ven!" Sora hurried to give his older brother a hug.
