Now that everything is explained, enjoy this chapter :')
Chapter 1
Another Cullen?
The road is dark. Very dark. It's enough to drive a person insane. But I'm already insane, aren't I? It's a neutral zone though, sort of like my own little soliloquy. Insane. Great name.
You'll notice that there's no date. That's because I don't know what day it is. After about 300 years of travelling, you lose track of time. If only I could lose track of other things…
Elizabeth walked down the road; the only thing on her was a duffel bag. She had come to Forks, Washington to restart her life. Zack was on tour, and her grandmother wanted to see the world. So it was just Elizabeth. She preferred to be alone anyway.
After walking for a good thirty minutes, Elizabeth reached Forks' best hotel and checked in to the penthouse. She put the duffel bag on the bed and started packing out her favourite outfits. The rest she threw away, figuring she'll just buy new ones as she needs.
After packing her things away she went to the bathroom and tied her hair up. She grabbed her face wash, quickly washed her face and then got into her pyjamas. It was pretty late already, and she had to check into Forks' High Administration tomorrow. Just because she's a vampire, doesn't mean she can't go to school. It kept her busy.
Elizabeth walked out of the bathroom and climbed into bed, figuring she should get every single minute of sleep she could.
The screeching noise of her phone's alarm woke her in a start the next morning. Elizabeth almost broke the phone trying to turn it off. She lay in bed for a few more minutes before deciding to get up and trudged over to the bathroom, turning on the shower.
After getting in the shower, Elizabeth just stood there and let the hot water run over her. It was enough to put her to sleep again. Shaking her head, she snapped out of it and tried to finish quickly, but as she ran her hand down her arm, a thought crossed her mind. Well, a few actually.
Am I ready for a new school? New people? What would happen today? Would they find my tattoos strange? Was there a school policy against tattoos? I hadn't even made sure of that. What about piercings? This is stupid; why am I thinking of this crap? Because I have to. Better play it safe today. No distractions.
Elizabeth quickly finished up, got out of the shower and was now standing at the mirror.
I am ready.
She quickly pulled on a pair of black skinny jeans, a black tank top and her favourite hoodie. Well, her brother's favourite hoodie that she "borrowed". He wouldn't miss it that much.
She walked back into the bathroom and started applying her makeup, which only consisted of eyeliner and mascara. It's obvious to say she wasn't a girly girl. Deciding to embrace her quirkiness, she put her eyebrow and nose piercings in.
Why was I so worried? They're not THAT noticeable.
She chuckled to herself and put on her nine black stretchy bracelets and smiled at her completed look. Pulling on her boots and grabbing her bag, she felt ready for this day as she set off toward her first day at Forks High.
Elizabeth walked through the front doors of Forks and quickly set off to the front office.
Looks just like any other school.
She walked up to the woman at the front desk and handed her papers in. She seemed nice, but was a little shocked when she looked up at Elizabeth. "Another Cullen? That doctor really likes children."
Elizabeth looked at the woman, a confused expression evident on her face. "Excuse me, ma'am?"
"Doctor Cullen? Carlisle? You're not one of his adopted children?"
When she heard that name, Elizabeth went limp inside, but she stood perfectly still.
Oh my God…
Flashback to 1662
Five year old Elizabeth was running around in a little meadow, the wind whipping through her long golden blonde hair. This was her at her happiest. She heard a little yell as her brother ran past her, another crow aiming right for him. Elizabeth laughed and shook her head when two big hands picked her up from behind. "He really should stay away from that crows' nest. This happens every time." Then he laughed his deep laugh. At least, it sounded deep to Elizabeth.
"Daddy, go help him." She pouted as she looked up at her father. To her, he was her hero. Her everything. Every piece of her little being. He chuckled softly and put her down, running over to help his son with the crow.
Then Elizabeth heard a new voice, but one she knew all too well. "Carlisle!"
Elizabeth snapped out of her memory. She shook her head, saying no to the woman, and then took her timetable and walked out of there as quickly as she could.
My dad's alive? And he's in this town? And he has new children? Oh my… I need to find these 'children'.
Elizabeth walked through the halls of Forks High, not paying attention to where she walked, when she accidentally walked into some blonde guy.
"I am so sorry. I didn't look where I was going." She frantically picked up her books and gave him his.
"Don't worry; it's fine." He smiled at her and held out his hand. "I'm Mike."
She took his hand and shook it. "Elizabeth."
Suddenly she saw her timetable lying on the floor. "I'll get it." Mike smiled again and picked her timetable up and handed it to her, but not without looking at it first. "Hey, we're in the same homeroom. I'll walk you there."
Elizabeth wanted to say no, but she was already late and didn't know where the class was, so she nodded and followed him.
As expected, everyone was already in class. "Mr Newton, you are late again." The teacher was a man. He was tall and very thin; not very muscular.
"I'm sorry, Mr Jones. I was just showing the new girl where homeroom was." He smiled and pointed at Elizabeth.
This kid smiles way too much.
Mr Jones pointed at Mike. "Take your seat." Then he pointed at Elizabeth. "Where's your paperwork?" She quickly handed it to him. He didn't seem like much of a chatter.
"Oh great, another Cullen. Alice, why didn't you tell me you guys had a new sibling?" He looked at a girl sitting in the middle row. She was short, had spiky black hair and looked way, way too happy.
Before the girl could answer, Elizabeth set the record straight. "I'm not one of their siblings. I don't even know her."
Her British accent must have tipped him off there, because he instantly looked at her strangely. "Which part of England are you from?"
"London, sir."
"So you're a sophisticated Limey. Humph, you could easily pass for one of Dr Cullen's children; except for the golden eyes though. Your eyes are bluer than the sky. You're off the hook, Cullen. Find a seat."
Elizabeth was truly confused now, but she rather listened to him and looked around for a seat. She saw the little pixie of a girl, Alice, wave at her and then pointed to the seat next to her.
According to the teacher, Alice is one of Dr Cullen's children, so this could be my best chance at finding out the truth.
Elizabeth smiled softly and sat next to Alice, who smiled at her. "I'm Alice."
"Elizabeth." She smiled back at the pixie.
"That's so beautiful! I wish I had such a nice name. So, you're surname is Cullen?"
This girl had way too much sugar in. Something was strange about her though; I can feel the coldness of her skin blow on mine.
Elizabeth nodded her head. "So is mine, but it's my adopted surname. My real surname is Brandon." Alice smiled widely at Elizabeth. "So, why are you in Forks?"
"I wanted a change."
This girl asks way too many questions.
She giggled. "This isn't really a town for change." Next thing, she looked at Elizabeth's timetable. "We have the same subjects, except for history. I can show you around."
I need to know the truth… Suck it up, Elizabeth. Maybe you'll learn to like her.
"Thank you. I'd appreciate that." Elizabeth smiled at Alice just as the bell rang.
"Time for English." Alice squealed and grabbed Elizabeth's hand, dragging her out of the room.
If you like, favourite and review :')
