Chapter Eight

Both groups stood in front of the monitor, the group's on both sides had Bulma, Dr Briefs, Gohan and Sharpener. Their side also had Mr Satan and Dr Stationary. The other side's additional members was Trunks, Erasa and Videl which they were all hoping where their versions of the girls but it did raise the question of if they where there worlds version what happened to that worlds versions of the girls. Both groups went through confirming what was currently happening in their timelines, confirming that the date was the same for both timelines.

"Dad, Mr Satan; our worlds versions of you are already dead. As are Videl and Erasa." The other worlds Sharpener explained to both men what had happened to them and both the girls.

"So is Goku dead?" the other worlds Bulma asked her counterpart and other world Gohan.

"He died fighting Cell" Gohan was the one who answered, his worlds version of Bulma looking sad.

"Though he finally let him wish him back a few weeks ago. He was so stubborn and thought that by staying dead we wouldn't have anyone threaten us." Bulma sighed at her friends stubbornness.

"He really did that!" the other Gohan asked in shock. "If he ever had a chance of coming back and didn't take it mum would kill him."

Gohan chuckled. "Oh she tried, she threw all the furniture in the house at him when he came back and after she'd got all her frustration out she cried before making dad a big meal of his favourites to welcome him home."

The Gohan's, Bulma's laughed with each other about Goku.

"He died of a heart virus here, did he ever get that in your time?" the other Bulma asked.

Bulma gave a quick glance to the group, Hercule was already nervous over the mention of Cell, he'd just worked out who Gohan actually was and was surprised to see him in his house, there as one of Videls friends. He was also from the group of people that fought against Buu.

"He did have the heart virus" Bulma confirmed. "I didn't find the cure, an older version of Trunks came to our timeline the day Goku arrived back on Earth after the Namek incident and gave Goku the medication to cure the heart virus and warned us about the androids."

"Did the androids happen?" the other worlds Gohan asked.

"They did, except instead of being two androids there ended up being a total of five androids." Gohan answered. "19 and 20 being the first two we encounter, though Bulma recognized 20 as actually being Dr. Gero. He'd turned himself into an android. Trunks from the future came back to our time and told us they weren't the androids he'd warned us about and after destroying 19 went out looking for his lab to find the androids he had warned about and Dr Gero after we'd lost track of him. The lab was found and the two androids and an extra android called 16 was activated."

Bulma and Gohan both filled the pair in about what happened during time of the androids and the leading up to Cell.

"Mr Satan" the other Sharpener asked. "Did you really beat Cell? We saw the footage and it cut out before the end."

Bulma and Gohan looked at each other before looking back at Mr Satan. He gulped with nervousness, the sweat already pouring down his face. From the stories that had been told he knew that Bulma and Gohan knew about what really happened, heck Gohan was the one that beat Cell.

Videl looked at her father who was only just visible on screen, normally he would've laughed off the acquisition by now about what happened after the Cell games and of course he won but this time he wasn't doing any of that. She was starting to wonder what had happened. Why his reaction was so different this time?

Dr. Briefs started laughing. "Mr Satan didn't beat Cell, whatever gave you that idea?"

"Dad" Bulma shouted in an accusing tone as if it was some big secret.

After much fidgeting Hercules finally responded. "It's true, I never beat Cell. I'm sorry Videl, I have no excuses for why I told everyone that I did beat Cell. I don't even know why I did it. The one that really beat Cell was that little boy."

Videl didn't know what to say to her father, she just stood there looking stunned, lying to the whole world was one thing but she was his only child and he'd lied to her as well. Sharpener was just as stunned as his friend, Erasa wasn't affected by the news that her friend's father didn't beat Cell, she was alive and that was all that mattered. The twins father was looking between the Briefs family who seemed to already know this information and Hercule wondering why he lied in the first place.

"Hey Gohan" Erasa asked her school friend. "Are you the little boy from the Cell games? Did you beat Cell?"

Gohan knew there was no point denying it; the girls had been around his counterpart long enough in the other world that they knew some of the truths about himself which he'd been hiding. "I'm the child from the Cell games and I really did beat Cell." He admitted. Videl was also cursing her friend, she wanted to be the one to ask Gohan the questions about his past, and she wanted to do it in person, not over a screen.

Sharpener was even more shocked, it didn't add up to what he knew about his friend.

"Why would you hide something like that?" Videl yelled at him. She was frustrated with herself, she was meant to take the time to get to know Gohan properly, not grill him like she was currently doing. It seemed that instinct had taken over.

"I didn't want the fame that goes along with saving the world. My mother went to the effort to try and keep me out of the public spotlight my whole life and Hercule taking the credit meant we could keep living how we where before." Gohan told them.

"Why would your mother need to go through the effort of making sure you weren't noticed? Was she selfish and wanted to keep you to herself." Videl accused, as soon as she said it she felt guilty, any loving mother would do anything to protect their child.

"You don't know anything about our family, so it's not your business to sick your nose into." Bulma told her.

A look of surprise came over Videls face for a moment.

"Why are you so surprised?" Erasa asked. "We've spent enough time here to know that Gohan is very close with Bulma. If it's like that here, it's the same back home."

Videl sighed she knew her friend was right.

"Now to test if we can send anything between the two dimensions" the Bulma's both said at the same time.

A test was conducted and they managed to sent through a mix master that Dr Briefs happened to have to the other dimension and back again.

After many tests it was confirmed that the two girls where going to be able to return home.

"Thank you everything you have done for us" Erasa bowed politely to the group in the other dimension. "We've learnt so much. Can you thank your Bunny and Chi-Chi for teaching me how to sew." The two girls said goodbye to everyone they had become close with during their stay in the dimension.

"We'll be sure to pass on the message." Gohan replied with a smile giving Erasa and then Videl a hug.

"And thanks for showing us around everywhere" Erasa continued.

"I'm going to miss you both." Trunks told the two girls with tears in his eyes.

"I'm glad that I got to spend this time with you both" Sharpener told the two girls.

All too quickly the girls stood where Bulma instructed them and with a flash of light they were back in their own dimension.

For the first time in a long time Videl realised that her father truly did love her, he pulled her into a hug and cried tears of joy when she stepped out of the portal into their own dimension.

Erasa was receiving hugs from her father and Sharpener while Gohan stood in the corner with both the Doctor Briefs.

"Videl I missed you" Sharpener told her and pulled Videl into a hug. He let go quickly as if fearful that she was going to hit her. She smiled at the fear in his face. That was the Sharpener she'd grown up with. He didn't try to grope her this time, and he seemed to have matured while she was gone even if it was just slightly.

"Glad to have you two girls back" Gohan told them happily. "School hasn't been the same without you." He then turned quickly towards Bulma. "Don't you dare say anything; I already know what you're thinking."

"I don't know what you're talking about." She answered trying to sound innocent. "Now which one of these two young ladies do you like?"

Gohan blushed with embarrassment. "Please ignore anything Bulma tells you."

Erasa clung onto Gohan's arm like she did while at school embarrassing her dad more than anyone else in the room. "Did we miss anything exciting while we were gone?"

"The martial arts tournament" Sharpener replied knowing that Videl would not be happy with missing the tournament.

"I've been training for the tournament forever" Videl complained. "Who won?"

"A lady called 18 won" Hercule told his daughter.

"As in the android who destroyed that other world?" Erasa asked them.

"In this world 17 and 18 weren't really evil" Bulma was the one that answered. "Anyway time for us to go and let you all catch up."

"Thank you for helping us return home" Videl told the scientist bowing to them.

She looked out her window and it really was her home she'd returned to, the streets weren't deserted, crumbling and overgrown. They had laughing people, busy people walking up and down, some trying to catch a glimpse of her father from the streets. That was the one thing she'd never missed, the paparazzi.

The sound of sirens blared off in the background and her watch that hadn't gone off the whole time in the other dimension started beeping.

"Chief" Videl spoke into the watch. She was hoping that it would be longer before she had to go back to work.

"Videl, glad to hear from you, you're father said you had the flu and lost your voice. Are you feeling any better." The man asked over her watch.

"Videl's only just got her voice back, she's not well enough to help out yet" Hercules told the police officer.

She smiled at her dad and gave him a hug, she was going to be spending the whole day with him, and that wasn't something she'd done for a while. As she was talking to her dad, she noticed Gohan sneaking out the room while everyone else was distracted.
