Chapter Nine
Sharpener was sad to see the two girls go, but it gave him hope knowing that the Androids had been defeated in the other universe; they'd learnt so much from their counterparts. With that knowledge they would hopefully have a chance to beat the androids once and for all. Gohan didn't know about the existence of the time chamber before the conversation with their other would counterparts and had gone to the tower with Bulma, Trunks to investigate if the chamber still existed. Sharpener was keeping himself busy working with the hunting party. The whole party all missed Videl coming out with them, but he'd told them all they'd found some of the girls relatives and they'd chosen to move on with them.
"Pity they couldn't come and say goodbye" Kiba complained. "My girls and kids love them. Not going to be the same without cheerful Erasa around the camp and Videl coming out with us."
"Planning to make them your wives" Tamaki teased.
"Stop teasing me about that Tamaki" and the ongoing battle of words between the men picked up like normal.
Sharpener smiled, it wasn't for long but the girls had made an impact on the community and where going to be missed.
DBZ
Gohan was with Bulma and Trunks were investigating if the special room still existed. The bottom of the tower looked a bit rundown but the top was amazing and still well maintained.
"Wow we're high up" Bulma exclaimed as Gohan flew her further and further up to the top of the tower. Being this high up there should've been an oxygen issue yet close to the tower itself it didn't seem to be an issue. "Remember to tell myself and Gohan if you feel tired Trunks." She called out to her son with concern; he'd never flown this high up before. She felt slightly nervous being this high up in the air and not in one of her capsules but knew that she would be in safe hands with Gohan.
A part of her couldn't believe how high up they where, it was amazing looking down, the view was amazing when it wasn't blocked by clouds. A weird man was at the top of the tower, by the name of Mr Popo who Bulma and Gohan had both meet years before and was able to direct them to the time chamber.
They had a good look around and spoke with Mr Popo about what they were doing up there, he was all too happy that to let Gohan use the chamber.
"Gohan, if everything goes well, the Kai's would like to offer you the position of Guardian of the Earth" Mr Popo explained to the young man. "Kami previously had you're father Goku in mind, he turned us down wanting to continue what he was already doing. You've been doing a wonderful job over the years protecting everyone from the androids."
"It's an honour Mr Popo" Gohan bowed politely. "I can't say yes at the moment, but I will defiantly thing about it."
He took them both to the chamber and explained how it worked, Bulma was sad that she wouldn't be able to go inside with the boys.
"A whole year without mums cooking" Trunks cheered, he hid behind Gohan at the glare he received from his mother.
"I'm going to miss my mum's cooking" Gohan commented, his stomach rumbling at the thought of food.
Bulma gave Trunks a lecture before he entered the time chamber with Gohan. The young boy just listened patiently as his mother fussed over him.
"I love you both" Bulma told the boys before they entered. She stood and watched as the boys entered the chamber, she knew it was going to be the last time she saw Trunks that small and knew that she was going to miss so much of his growing up in that year.

She couldn't sit in front of the door all day wondering what her son was doing so to keep herself busy she went searching through the old building for anything that might be useful in their efforts to survive, and rebuild the world if they ever managed to defeat the androids.
"Mr Popo" Bulma asked the man. He was enjoying having someone to talk to again after years of solitude. "I got the location of New Namek from and alternate dimension. Do you have any way of confirming if it's the same location in this dimension?"
"I do." he informed her. They went to another room that looked like the night sky. Bulma told them the coordinates of the plant and the stars zoomed in on that planet.
"We now wait for the planets guardian to respond before we are able to view a planet" Mr Popo told them.
It didn't take long before the view changed and they could see two Namekians in a room, it looked like they were all standing in the same room together.
"Bulma, is that you?" the younger of the two Namekians asked; he had grown a lot over the years and now looked a lot like Piccolo.
Bulma nodded. "Dende, you've grown a lot since I last saw you. How's New Namek?"
"Everything is going well here" he told them. Informing them how the harvests where going and the population growth. "How are things on Earth? How's everyone Krillen, Gohan, Piccolo and Goku?"
Bulma then in turn told him the current situation on Earth, how out of their friends Gohan was the only survivor out of the fighters; how small the population was now and how the planet had been without a guardian since Piccolo died as well as the encounter with the two girls from the parallel dimension. The Namekian's where horrified to know there was someone out there stronger then Frieza.
"Gohan and my son Trunks are training in a special room where time goes faster than it does out here so hopefully this mess will be sorted out shortly. Once it's sorted out we'd like someone from Namek to become the new guardian of Earth. Apparently Piccolo and Kami fused together before Piccolo's death and I'm certain that Piccolo doesn't want to be full time guardian if we can wish them back."
"I've offered Gohan the position of Guardian, I suspect just like his father before him he will not take the position."
A quick discussion took place in Namekian before Moori spoke. "Dende would be honoured to take the position of new guardian if Gohan turned you down."
"It will be good to see you Bulma; I wish Gohan the best with his battle once his training is complete." Dende told her politely.

When Gohan exited the gravity room there wasn't much of a change besides longer shaggy hair. Trunks on the other hand had a big change just like Bulma suspected he would, he'd had a growth spurt while he was in the chamber and was taller than when he went in, his hair was just past his shoulder.
"So how did it go?" Bulma asked them.
"Great" Gohan replied with a smile. "Constant uninterrupted training made a big difference. Advice from my counterpart really helped. Trunks, show your mum."
With a huge grin plastered on his face Trunks powered up showing his mother that he could now turn into a super saiyan. "He's still not strong enough to defeat the androids, but he can at least hold his own if he ever got caught by them."
"Do you think you can beat them?" Bulma asked him, with concern. Really hoping that it was all going to be over.
"Only one way to find out." Gohan told Bulma. "I think it's best if you two stay up here, I'm going to see mum before I confront them."

It felt like years before Gohan returned to the tower when it actual fact it was only a few hours, he was beaten up and bloody from the fight. Bulma ran to him in an instant throwing her arms around the beaten teenager, the anticipation of waiting for Gohan to confirm if the fate of the mechanical monsters seemed to drag on.
"I won" Gohan replied with a smile which made him look more like the teenage version of him from the other dimension.
After passing on the news Gohan passed out. Bulma the proceeded to passing on the news to planet Namek that they'd won and began arranging to spread the word to the different settlements that it was all over.

After Gohan had healed enough to travel he went and saw Sharpener to tell him in person that the androids had been defeated. He watched the cheering of the villagers, the disbelief and relief that it was finally over crossing everyone faces. The children who'd only known living with the threat of the androids didn't even know what it meant to be free from them.
"This is all thanks to you and the girls" Gohan told Sharpener once they were both alone.
"Me, I had nothing to do with this" Sharpener was slightly shocked that Gohan would think he had anything to do with the androids now being gone.
"If it wasn't for you bringing the girls to my family we never would've found the way to destroy the androids."
"Pity it wasn't a year earlier, we would've still had my sister if it was."
"We still may be able to get her back, no promises, only a maybe. Bulma and I are going to Planet Namek to pick up the new Guardian of the Earth, Dende he's a friend of mine from when I was a child. With him we may be able to recreate the Dragon Balls and wish everyone back."
That sat in silence thinking about all the people that had been lost over the years.
"I have a few loose ends to tie up. Want to come?" Gohan asked.
Sharpener nodded and hopped into the Capsule jet Gohan had got out. Even though they both knew that the androids where gone they were both still on a look out for the androids from years of habit.
Gohan took him to the lab mentioned by the other Gohand and Bulma, the place the androids where created, the lab of Dr Gero. It was obvious the place had been abandoned for a long time, on the ground was the body of the man who had created the androids. The few parts of the man which had still been human had decayed leaving behind a mess of wires and chips. Not taking any chances the saviour of the world blasted the man into dust. In the basement of the place was the pod contained Cell who was still growing in stasis, he was destroyed immediately. The weird creature was aware what was going on and tried to put up a fight but Gohan was too strong for the partly grown monster. On the way out they did a closer search of the lab and found the two pods containing the androids mentioned by the other universe; Androids 16 and 19. The one containing 19 was also destroyed without much thought.
"I'm going to activate him" Gohan announced, pressing the button on the pod.
"Are you insane!" Sharpener shouted at him. "We've only just escaped the androids and you're talking about activating another android."
"I want to know if his personality is the same as the 16 from the other dimension. Besides if he's deadly I can destroy him."
Sharpener shook his head, standing back thinking this was mass annihilation waiting to happen.
"Scanning" was the first words that came out of the androids mouth. "Identity Gohan Son, age ten years old … information out of date. Son of Goku the enemy, must destroy Goku."
"Goku's my father's already dead. He's been dead for years" Gohan told the android.
"Then I have no purpose." The android replied.
"So you're not going to kill us?" Sharpener asked.
"I'm built to kill Goku, you are not Goku so I have no reason to kill you." The android replied.
It turned out the android was a big help with cleaning up the destructions left by the other two, he also loved animals and children and had been going around finding any orphans that needed help.

With the loose ends with the settlements and the androids taken care of Gohan, Chi Chi and Bulma where both going to the New Namek to collect Dende since repair work was now well and truly on the way.
"Are you sure you're going to be fine watching Trunks for us?" Bulma asked Sharpener. They couldn't afford to take both saiyans off the planet and Bulma needed to go so they had two people that could repair the ship since there were a few things that Gohan couldn't do with one hand in case anything broke down. Most of the time Trunks would be with his grandparents and only needed to be watched while away from Capsule Corporation. They also voted that Gohan needed a break from protecting the planet and going off world with them would be good for him.
"No problems at all. Trunks is a good kid." Sharpener told her.
DBZ
It took five weeks for the small group to arrive back on Earth after their trip away for a new guardian. Dende looked shorter in person then what he did through the magic room. The trip turned out the be exactly what Gohan needed, he arrived back looking more relaxed then he had been since Sharpener had known him. The new guardian also managed to restore the Dragon Balls which Gohan and Bulma then used to summon a Dragon. Sharpener looked around with amazement, shock and slight fear as everything rumbled and the sky turned black.
"We would like to wish back the population of the Earth who has died since the androids surfaced. Excluding the two androids' themselves" Bulma told him the date and year of the attacks had first began.
"And can you give the dead a choice to if they come back at the age they died at or if they come back at the age they would've been if they'd lived." Gohan asked.
"That will use up your two wishes to grant your request" the dragon replied.
"That's what we want" Gohan answered.
Sharpener watched in amazement as the dragon disappeared, the dragon balls scattered and the black sky cleared to a bright sunny day.
"Now what?" Sharpener asked.
"Now we find our loved ones who died years ago" Gohan told him with a smile and picked up Sharpener and flew to the location Erasa had died. When they arrived Erasa was looking a lot healthier then when she'd died, her hair was also a bit longer and she was with the three children and several other people that had obviously died around that location over the years.
"Sharpener, Gohan" she yelled and ran to the two boys. Hugging them both, and giving Gohan a kiss. "I've missed you."
"I missed you as well" both boys said at the same time.
"Gohan your arm" Erasa noted sadly.
"I lost it when I tried and failed to save you" Gohan answered dismissing the missing limb it didn't concern him at all that he'd lost his arm. "I'm really happy to have you back."
They returned the children to their family and then told Erasa all about the two visitors from the other dimension who'd made it a reality for them to defeat the androids and wish her back.

Sharpener was happy to see that Videl was one of the people that had choose to come back at the age she should be, not the age she would've been.
"We missed you Vi" Erasa screamed with joy seeing her best friend. "This is my boyfriend Gohan." She introduced the one armed boy.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Videl" Gohan told her politely.
"So why'd you choose to come back at this age?" Sharpener asked his friend.
"Because it would be weird to be younger then my two best friends" Videl replied, still feeling awkward around everyone. "It was strange enough being a different age then Erasa in the other world." A few days earlier she'd been a dead ten year old and now she was an alive seventeen year old. She was different then the Videl from the other time. Physically both girls looked the same with long hair in pig tails. But personality wise she was different, not as outgoing as the other Videl, a little bit shy but still the tom boy he remembered from his childhood. Seeing the Videl he grew up with he realised that even if the other Videl had stayed behind she would never truly been his Videl and even if they had ended up together his thoughts would always go back to the girl that was now standing in front of him.
"What's that smile for?" Videl asked him.
"Just glad to have my two favourite girls back" he replied and was ecstatic when Videl returned his smile.
