The day had come to where Ron and I were to leave for Hogwarts. I was very excited but a bit afraid, also. I was going to have to leave the home that I had grown so much to like. Now I would be moving to a whole new place.
Also, what if the other kids made fun of my hair, or pick on me because my father was a human? Not to mention if word got out about what my father had done.
At least Ron was coming with me. I wouldn't be so alone. In fact I would have a good body guard, Percy. He is a prefect. But for Gryffindor , who knows what house I would be in.
"Come on children, hurry up." Mrs. Weasley said. Just then we had reached a brick wall between station 9 and 10.
(P.S. we were in the London train station)
I looked at my ticket.
One ticket for train 367 in station 9 ¾
Departure time- 9:34 a.m.….. August 21
That made no sense. There was a station 9 and 10 but no station called 9 ¾?
"Mrs. Weasley?" I asked pulling on her sleeve. "Yes, dear?" She answered. "Well my ticket must have a mistake. You see? It says 9 ¾ ." I told her " No, that is no mistake" Mrs. Weasley bent down and pointed towards the wall. "You run straight between the two signs and there you go! You are in station 9 ¾! It's a wizard station."
"Oh I get it now, but if you have to go through the middle, shouldn't it be called 9 ½ ?" I asked. "That's I very good question. I guess nine and three quarters has more of a ring to it." She told me.
Then I felt someone tap on my shoulder. I turned around and saw a boy about my age and was tall (but not taller than me), skinny, had black messy hair and round broken glasses. Wait a second, I have seen him before. He was the boy from Diagon Alley that was with the gigantic man.
"Excuse me, do you know how to get to station 9 ¾?" he asked. "Umm….Yes. You go straight through this wall here and end up at the stop… I think" I said, sounding unsure. The boy looked at me like I was crazy.
Just then Percy ran towards the wall dead on. When he reached the wall, his body disappeared into it, leaving the boy and I in awe.
"The wonders of magic!" I thought to myself.
"Ok Cora Your turn" Mrs. Weasley told me. By the time she said this George, Fred, Ron, and even the boy (Who I found out was named Harry) went through. The only people left were Mrs. Weasley, Ginny, and me. It is hard to admit this but… I was really scared of this whole walking through walls thing. If I thought about crashing (Which I was doing a lot of at the moment) Mrs. Weasley said that I WOULD crash.
"Ok…" I moped.
I grabbed the handle of my cart (Which was very heavy because it was holding all my supplies in it) and started to run. I wasn't scared at all…. I was terrified!
The wall came closer, and closer, and closer, like a lion chasing its prey. Except that, I, the prey was going straight for the hungry lion.
The wall was now in my reach and…. BAM!
… I hit the wall
When the cart had rammed up against the wall I wasn't prepared so, my chest hit right up against the handle knocking me (and my breathe) onto the floor.
At first it didn't hurt, I was still in shock of what had happened. Then the pain appeared.
I put my hands to my chest and rocked back and forth on the floor struggling to breathe.
Mrs. Weasley rushed over to me and helped me up. "Are you ok?" Ginny asked "Yeah I'm fine" I told her. The pain was nearly gone and I was now more prepared to go into the wall a second time.
"Now remember, don't think about anything except getting to the other side." Mrs. Weasley reminded me.
I grabbed the now dented cart and rushed towards the wall.
This time the "BAM!" didn't come.
I opened my eyes and there I was… at station 9 ¾ . The other Weasleys and Harry motioned for me to come to them.
After Mrs. Weasley and Ginny had gone through the wall we rushed for the train entrance and said our goodbyes. It was sad to leave them… I had finally felt like I belonged…..
