Hello, everyone!

First of all, WOW at the response I have gotten so far. I'm so happy that other people like this idea!

Second, I know it's not another chapter… however, I thought that I owed you all an explanation for why it seemed like I had abandoned the story.

Truth be told, I haven't abandoned this story, and I don't intend for it to go up for adoption. After all, I can still picture how the plot should go, and various other little quirks.

The problem is the stupid meeting with the Hokage- I just can't get past it!

So, here's what I'm going to do- I'm going to post what I have written so far, along with a few things that I want to add to the chapter yet can't seem to be able to word myself. Then, it'll be up to YOU to figure out how the rest of the meeting should go.

What you'll need to do is PM me your version of events, and then I'll choose the version I like best. With the winner's permission, that will become the latter half of the second chapter.

So, here's what I've got so far: (Oh, and as always I don't own Harry Potter, Naruto, or any of their characters)

Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, had seen and experienced many things in his long life. If one were an Academy student assigned to describe just some of those very things, they'd need at least several pages.

Too bad all of those experiences were now replaced by tedious paperwork that was taking up valuable time which could be spent with his newborn grandson, he idly mused as he filled out form after form. Already he had missed cuddling with Konohamaru today, thanks to Naruto's latest prank that had generated piles of those dreaded pieces of paper. He was really going to have to have a talk with the boy about not pranking where the majority of the Civilian Council had their businesses… they always got their revenge on the Hokage for not allowing Naruto to be killed by being extra meticulous when it came to filling out complaints to him. They even had the tiniest of splinters reported and filed in triplicate! Triplicate!

Taking a short break, Hiruzen noticed that he was thankfully almost finished. Quickly glancing through the rest of the paperwork, he was delighted to see that it was all things that were not required. As he debated on whether to practice one of his fire-style jutsus on them (just to reassure himself that he could still keep himself in top form… the satisfaction factor of exorcising the paperwork demons was only a bonus, honest), suddenly he felt one of his ANBU flaring their chakra in an obvious request to see him.

"Come in," he ordered, curious about what Kakashi (for the chakra that was tinged with lightning and sadness could only belong to the last living student of his deceased successor) wanted. Quickly, he tried to remember where he had been ordered… oh, no.

What had happened to Sasuke Uchiha that Kakashi had felt the need to speak to him outside of the normal reports?

As the door opened, Hiruzen felt an odd mix of relief, curiosity, and confusion.

Relief for the fact that Sasuke (who Kakashi was now setting back down on the ground) was, at least on the surface, unharmed. Confusion and curiosity for the additional passenger that had accompanied the last two people in Konohagakure who could (at least potentially, in Sasuke's case) wield the Sharingan.

Either oblivious, uncaring, or both to the Third Hokage's scrutiny, the large red and gold bird began to preen its feathers while perched on Sasuke's shoulder.

Well. It was definitely something he could cross off of what some jokingly called the bucket list… not that he was aware that seeing a large red and gold bird of unknown origin or species was even on there.

He would never know whether it was the shock of the situation, the late hour, the blasted paperwork temporarily making him not quite himself, or an odd combination of the three that prompted him to abandon his usual manner. Instead, he blurted out, "Sasuke Uchiha… why is there a bird on your shoulder?"

"Because that's where Fawkes wants to be right now," came the nonchalant reply.

"Fawkes?"

"The name of the bird, sir," Kakashi added helpfully.

Blinking, Hiruzen inquired, "Sasuke, you named the bird Fawkes?"

In true Uchiha fashion, Sasuke gave the Third Hokage a flat look as he answered, "No, Fawkes told me his name."

"Fawkes… told you his name." He couldn't help the disbelieving tone that crept into his voice, due to the fact that beyond Summons and certain nin partners the Third Hokage was pretty sure that animals couldn't talk.

Narrowing his eyes slightly, the little Uchiha crossed his arms as he retorted, "Of course he told me, after all he's going to be my phoenix and I'm to be his bonded partner now!"

"Sasuke, animals normally don—" whatever Hiruzen was about to say was suddenly derailed when Sasuke's statement fully sunk in. "What type of bird did you just say Fawkes was?"

The aforementioned bird suddenly looked up and trilled with obvious amusement. Sasuke meanwhile smirked as he replied, "He's a phoenix, sir."

Hiruzen Sarutobi, the man who had seen and experienced many things, was flabbergasted when Fawkes nodded his head in obvious confirmation to Sasuke's proclamation. A little boy bonding with a mythical creature was definitely unexpected, to put it mildly.

It was obvious to Fawkes that Sasuke was enjoying the look on face of the elderly man if the feelings of glee that was transmitting through their bond were any indication.

Sasuke, you do realize you're milking this a little too much, correct? he sent.

And that's all I have so far. As you can see, not a whole lot.

So, what I wanted to happen next-

*We learn why Kakashi didn't immediately react to Fawkes' arrival like he should have- he was reading Icha Icha (See, I had a plan for that all along! And remember- if I did my math correctly then Kakashi is only about 22 years old- Icha Icha is only sold to those 18 and up- and thus is probably still relatively new to the wonderful world of perversity that Jiraiya is a proud member of lawl.)

*We learn more about Phoenix culture, including the specifics on how the bonding works (which includes how Fawkes can control the bond in order to prevent overwhelming Sasuke with literally thousands of years of memories). Fawkes also learns more about the world he is now a part of, including the mechanics of chakra and other useful stuff.

*Fawkes shares the blocked memory that he saw of Itachi's defection, and Sasuke learns a practical lesson in 'Looking underneath the underneath'

*The Hokage promises to share with Sasuke the true reason why Itachi left when he feels Sasuke is mature enough (you don't have to specify when, but I was leaning towards the idea of when he becomes Chunin- after all, in canon he's still considered a Genin, just a ridiculously overpowered one like Naruto)

*Fawkes should make it clear that as a being from another world, he does NOT know any jutsus. However, that doesn't mean that he can't learn the basics and eventually help Sasuke create awesome Fire-Style jutsus.

*It is made clear that although they are bonded, the bond is still very new and thus while Fawkes initially likes Sasuke it is still very much a first impression. However, he should also make it clear that the more time they spend together the more the bond develops. Pretty much I was thinking that the bond would be similar to Eragon and Saphira's bonding, or the bonding that occurs between dragons and riders in the wonderful world of Pern, except that in this case Fawkes is the senior partner of the two.

*Fawkes also mentions that the bond could affect Sasuke in ways that would be unexpected, although he doesn't know what those ways could be yet.

*The Hokage welcomes Fawkes to the Hidden Leaf Village, and officially registers him as Sasuke's nin partner (which is the closest he can come to Fawkes' and Sasuke's unique position). He then orders Kakashi to take Sasuke and Fawkes back to the hospital in order to have Sasuke rest.

*After Sasuke is officially released from the hospital, Sasuke takes Fawkes on a tour of the village.

*The duo run into Naruto, and although they don't interact with him yet Fawkes senses Kurama's presence inside of him.

*Finally the two arrive at the now empty Uchiha compound.
