Two weeks had gone by in which the girls saw each other almost every day. Their relationship kept getting stronger and stronger. Emily and JJ were talking on the phone:
"So, I know this is probably weird, but my parents want to meet you."
"Oh, really? Well, my parents want to meet you too, but in order to meet you they need time, and that, my love, is the only thing they seem to lack."
"Oh, baby, are you alone again?"
"Yeah, my mother is in France for a meeting and my father is in Mississippi doing a ecological thing–I don't know, I wasn't really paying attention to what he was doing."
"Ha! You are a crazy person."
"Yes, but I am your crazy person."
"Well in that I agree, so you know I have a question."
"Uh, sure."
"I know that you already graduated so what are you up to next?"
"Ah, well, I still don't know. I mean…"
"Really?"
"Yes, I graduated three months ago. But the thing is three months ago all I cared about was making a good impression on people and making my parents happy."
"And what changed?"
"Well, not what but who. You, Jennifer, brought a new purpose in life for me, and I don't want to lose that."
"So what were you planning on doing before I came along?"
"Well, I was supposed to go to Cambridge."
"You were supposed to, but what do you want to do?"
"Truthfully?"
"Yes, baby. It's just you and me–you can trust I will support you in whatever you decide."
"I want to stay here and go to Georgetown."
"Well, Georgetown is great too. I bet your parents would be very proud, Emily."
"It's not about that, it's the career. My mom wants me to follow her footsteps and study law and politics."
"What do you want?"
"I want to study criminal psychology."
"Oh, wow! That's amazing."
"Yeah, my uncle Frank was an investigator for MI6 and my grandfather was one of the founders of the BAU in the FBI and the USA military intelligence."
"Wow! But if your family has been working in that for generations, why does your mother disagree with you studying that?"
"Well, that's the thing. My father's side of the family are the investigators, my mom's side is full of politicians."
"Oh. That's a piggy."
"Yes, tell me about it. So since I am an only child I have to decide. And because I love investigating and hate politics, my mom thinks I love my dad and hate her. It sucks."
"Ugh. Baby, do what makes you happy. And as for your mother, don't worry; if she supported you being gay as she did I don't think she is going to make such a big deal out of this."
"Oh, you don't know my mother: personal lives she doesn't really care about, but professional ones? Well, that's a whole other thing."
"Don't worry, okay? I bet things will figure themselves out."
"I hope so, JJ. Now what about you? You are graduating soon."
"Well, I still have a year."
"A year passes really quick. When do you return to school?"
"Next week, but don't remind me about that. I will probably cry."
"Hahaha! Come on, I bet you will have fun."
"Well, I do think I am going to be a lot more popular. Ever since we were seen together and started dating, people talk to me more, they call me, they invite me to parties… it's insane."
"Oh, really? Parties, huh."
"Yes."
"Why haven't you gone to any?"
"Who says I haven't?"
"Well, me. I mean we have been spending these last two weeks together almost every day."
"That is exactly why I haven't! I mean, who would prefer the company of a bunch of hormonal teenager over a hot, smart, talented brunette?"
"JJ, well, first of all, let me remind you we are both teens, or so says the law until we turn 21, and I am also hormonal."
"Oh, you are amazing."
"Yeah, I know. So, what are you doing tomorrow night?"
"Ah, nothing. Why?"
"Well, I was wondering if you would like to go out on a date with me."
"You know, it's crazy."
"What is?"
"Well, we have been seeing each other for two weeks, we call each other pet names, but we have only gone on one real date: the first time we met, and we haven't even kissed yet."
"See, this is why I like you so much. You point out the obvious."
"Oh, really? And what is that?"
"Well, I like you and I hope you like me too. And I know that these first couple of weeks have helped us get to know each other in a friendly way, but from now on I want to get to know you on a different level, you know?"
"I do. And for the record, I like you too, Emily."
"Oh, great! So I will pick you up tomorrow. Four o'clock good for you, JJ?"
"Wait I thought we were going out on a date. Why so early?"
"Well, my dates are not really normal, but tomorrow you will see."
"Oh, alright. Perfect.
"Yes, so sleep well gorgeous. I will see you tomorrow."
"Oh, alright. Wait! What should I wear?"
"Whatever you want, but it is casual so nothing too fancy."
"Oh. Alright."
"Okay, kisses and hugs! Sleep well."
"You are so cheesy."
"Yes, well, only for you. And if you ever tell somebody that I will have to kill you."
"Alright. Bye, Emily."
"Bye, Jennifer."
I know I have abandon writing but I had to move AGAIN, and didn't have time. But know I am back, and I will NEVER leave. (Okay that sounded creepy). So I wanted to do a dialog, it's my first so sorry if it sucks. I will update soon
