Disclaimer: I do not own any of these characters because if I did, Annie and Auggie would have been together in the beginning of season 3 or quicker!
ENJOY!
"This is the end of our discussion, Agent Walker" Joan was ticked off by the work ethic of none other than Annie Walker, an uprising agent at the CIA. By now, everybody knew her name. The director of the DPD turned and waved Annie off. She walked out of the office only to see Auggie hard at work.
"Auggie?"
"Yeah?" It seemed as if he were there, but not at the same time.
Ignoring that fact, she continued. "Do you think I'm a good agent, like I'm needed here?"
That question got his attention and he turned her way but not exactly facing her, seeing as how he was blind, he turned based on sound waves. She came in and turned him her way. He liked the fact that he could again smell her grapefruit perfume, which he remembered her by. He didn't say anything when she pulled away and he regretted the fact that he didn't ask her to stay close.
"Of course you're needed here, Annie. We all think that you're a great agent."
"Is that just one man's opinion or is that what the whole agency thinks. I'm closer to you and you know me the best of everybody here."
Enjoying the fact that she thought that they were close, he responded, "No, we all need you here, sure some more than others, but we all need you."
"Auggie..." She leaned him and gave him a hug and he began to wonder, "Does she love me back?"
"So, how about a drink later tonight?"
Not knowing what to say he just decided to tell her that he'll think about it.
Not letting him know that she was hurt, she nodded and walked away slowly, hoping he would get her on a rebound. Realizing he had gone back to work, she began walking faster and headed for her desk, embarrassed by the fact she was turned down by her best friend. Auggie on the other hand, already had somewhere to be, but much rather would spend the night with Annie and talk to her. He realized it was weird that when she was talking to him her voice got a little stronger and when he was talking to her, he felt stronger. Annie did not know that Auggie thought that they had something special, while she on the other hand thought it was more of a work relationship.
He realized that he had just lost the chance of a lifetime, Annie and him both high up in the clouds together, alone.
Auggie was just about to confront her when Arthur called and emergency meeting, his window was closed, and it was his fault.
