Soon Alex's breathing was once again restricted, "The only thing that seems to be showing problems is your right leg. I am going to go talk to Hanji while you get dressed." Soul exited the tent.

Quickly Alex put her shirts on and jumped down from the table, only to fall to the floor, grabbing her right leg. "Ow."

Carefully, she limped over to entrance of the tent, Hanji, Erwin, and Levi were having an intense conversation.

Alex tried sneak away unseen, but she bumped into a table with her hip, "Really, Who puts tables there?" Grasping her hip in an attempt to stop the pain.

The three commanders looked over stopping their conversation to see the new trainee grabbing his hip.

"Hey Alex, Soul just said you needed an X-ray, what's going on? Did your hip get damaged?" Hanji asked, sitting the tiny human on the table.

"No I hit my hip on this table, the horse did something to my leg. Probably didn't help that I jumped of a four story building earlier."

"Why in the Fuck would you do that?" Levi glared, was this bastard suicidal or something?

'Go jump off a four story building, then talk to me about having my loaf of bread.' Soul snapped at Alex.

"It was in the name of science." Alex stated blankly, was that a legitimate excuse?

"Ahh! You were testing how strong your bones have become? That other trainee is a scientist. So you must of felt some pain earlier correctly? That's why you said you could only jump of three story buildings. Those you can land safely. " Hanji was in Alex's face with a bit of drool.

'Cheese, I thought she only obsessed over titans?' Alex thought to herself.

Erwin leaned in Alex's face, examining every little detail.

"Have I seen you somewhere before?" Erwin asked after staring at the new recruit for a bit.

"You should have, I gave you food when you use to pass my town." Alex looked over at Erwin not disturbed by how close he was leaning in.

"Ahh, Yes you and your weird friend would always tell me to do something but i can't quite remember what it was you said." Erwin leaned back, what did they use to say?

"Wax your eyebrows." Alex's eye twitched his eyebrows bother her so much. SO MUCH.

Levi sighed this was pointless, "We should get back to HQ as soon as possible."

Alex bit her lip, she felt like going into song, this is a bad to to be random.

"Alex, are you okay? You are going purple." Hanji commented.

'I must not sing!' Alex stared at the floor.

"Al! Breathe! breathing is something i still need to fix on you." Soul commented carrying a small object.

"What?" Alex breathed out, still needed to fix what?

Soul pulled Alex so her leg was stretched out on the table she was on. He place the tablet like object over the leg and took pictures from her high leg to the end of her foot.

"What the fuck is that?" Levi questioned walking closer to look at the object.

Soul looked down at the corporal from is height of five foot nine, "This is a prototype portable x-ray my friend was working on."

Soul swipped the picture to pictures, "Ahh here it is."

Soul flipped the object around so Alex and the captains could see the images, "This is your ankle, the head of the talus to be exact, you see these hairline fractures? You received them earlier when you jumped off the fourth floor. You didn't walk much today, so I assume some part of you knew you were hurt but you didn't register it." Soul swipped to next picture, "This is your Tibia, when the horse fell on you it made compound fractures, just stay off your leg while for a few hours."

Alex stared at Soul, "What the hell did you give me this time?!"

Soul smiled, "I'm trying out a new healing drug, to help heal minor injuries faster, this is a great time for you to damage your leg."

Hanji helped Alex off the bench, "Well, you and Rosie can sit in the supply carriage, Soul , help Bertholdt drive the carriage."

Soul and Alex saulted, "Yes, sir."

Alex limped a distances away, Soul's tongue clicked, "You're taking to long." Soul picked up his injured friend and walked back to the carriages.

"Morons." Levi watched them walk off, that boy, there was something about him..

"Corporal, the supply carriage is loaded, when are we leaving?" Armin saluted, waiting for orders.

Erwin watched the smaller man, "Levi."

"I heard him, we leave as soon as possible." Levi walked away to ready his horse.

Erwin patted Armin's shoulder and walked off to inform the camp they were leaving. When a small body crashed into him.

"I-I-I-I am s-s-so s-s-s-orry!." he looked down to see a small girl, nothing special about her but her blue eyes.

Erwin offered his hand to the small girl, "It's alright. What is your name soldier?"

"P-Prim, sir." Prim accepted his hand brushing the dirt off of her before saluting, "I-i must be on my way, sir. Good Afternoon." She walked off.

"Good afternoon.." Erwin watched her leave, such a delicate girl wasn't cut out for the military. It was a wonder she made it this far.

Alex sighed as she rested against some of the tied down supplies. Rosie had fallen asleep ten minutes prior, curled on the floor so the wind didn't touch her. They had been traveling for an hour. Opening her eyes, she saw Levi and Hanji on either side of the carriage, Levi was father on the other side of the carriage, Hanji was ride next to her.

"Enjoy your nap, Alex?" Hanji smiled down at her,

"I suppose, it's a little hard when you have sleep on your back." Alex said facing the older girl.

Hanji laughed a little, "You're a side sleeper huh? Not many of those here.."

Alex smiled, "Do I want to ask how you know that?"

They laughed, but a questioned bugged Hanji, "Hey, Are you and Soul a thing?"

Alex's face dropped, 'A thing?' She looked over at her friend, he was blushing and watching Burnthole.

Alex let out a large laugh, "U-Us?! N-No w-way!"

"Shut up, your laughter fucking is annoying." Levi barked at Alex.

"Your face is annoying!" Alex said out of reaction.

'Shit. I just said that.' Alex's eyes widen. Hanji watched, this is the first in a long while some sad something like that to Levi.

"Garden." Levi stated, "You're cleaning the Garden when we get back." He kicked his horse's sides and rode away from Alex.

Alex shrugged, 'It could be worse, like the bathroom.'

Hanji laughed, "W-Wow you're a character, aren't you? Don't worry. The garden isn't that bad, the bathrooms are worse."

"Shhh! Don't give him ideas." Alex shushed the Squad Leader, before looking over Levi, he didn't appear to be listening anymore.

"You afraid of him?" Hanji looked down from her horse, Alex combed his bangs that covered right side of his face, "Not really. I just don't like cleaning. Hey, do you know English?"

"English? Isn't that a dead language? How do you know it?" Hanji asked, she only heard about the language in a book, but nothing saying how to understand it.

"Family. Hey, Soul!" Alex called with a smirk on her face.

"Yea?" Soul turned around, the blush almost instantly dropping.

"English is dead here." Alex turned around smiling.

"BtW! You can move your leg now." Soul turned back around shutting up.

The commotion had awoken Rosie. She sat up and yawned, instantly regretting it as the wind hit, chilling her to the bone. "It's cold!" She announced, ducking back down. "And it smells like corpses down here. I think I see blood…" She held down her stomach contents as the moment of disgust passed. "Ew...Well, at least it'll be cleaner where we're heading. Are we nearing the destination? I want to know what my cleaning assignment is."

Levi rode back and glared at her. "For you? I've got a special job. You get to clean the windows."

Rosie's eyes brightened. That wouldn't be too hard!

"Yes, Sir!"

Levi never let an ounce of warmth creep into his eyes. "The outside of the windows." With that, he rode off.

'I'm going to freeze,' Rosie thought in despair, 'That is, if I don't fall off my rope and die first.'

Alex sighed, "Hey Rosie, can you give me my bag?" she stared at the bag the blocked most of Rosie's wind.

The girl nodded giving the bag, shivering. 'Why is this bag so damn heavy?'

Alex sighed tossing her jacket at Rosie, opening the back she took out an acoustic guitar. They had at least an hour before getting to base, why not have a merry trip before she had to clean?

Rosie closed up the bag and moved it back to shield her from the wind, snuggling in Alex's jacket.

Hanji stared at Alex, "Wow i haven't seen a guitar before, you play?"

Soul turned around, "A Team A team!"

Alex smiled, "As you wish your highness, and yes I play."

The experiment tuned the guitar to her liking before she began to sing, her voice was hushed and had a deep edge to it, resembling a male's singing. In German she sung the her friend requested.

White lips, pale face

Breathing in snowflakes

Burnt lungs, sour taste

Light's gone, day's end

Struggling to pay rent

Long nights, strange men

And they say

She's in the Class A Team

Stuck in her daydream

Been this way since 18

But lately her face seems

Slowly sinking, wasting

Crumbling like pastries

And they scream

The worst things in life come free to us

Cos we're just under the upperhand

And go mad for a couple of grams

And she don't want to go outside tonight

And in a pipe she flies to the Motherland

Or sells love to another man

It's too cold outside

For angels to fly

Angels to fly

Ripped gloves, raincoat

Tried to swim and stay afloat

Dry house, wet clothes

Loose change, bank notes

Weary-eyed, dry throat

Call girl, no phone

And they say

She's in the Class A Team

Stuck in her daydream

Been this way since 18

But lately her face seems

Slowly sinking, wasting

Crumbling like pastries

And they scream

The worst things in life come free to us

Cos we're just under the upperhand

And go mad for a couple of grams

And she don't want to go outside tonight

And in a pipe she flies to the Motherland

Or sells love to another man

It's too cold outside

For angels to fly

Angels to fly

An angel will die

Covered in white

Closed eye

And hoping for a better life

This time, we'll fade out tonight

Straight down the line

And they say

She's in the Class A Team

Stuck in her daydream

Been this way since 18

But lately her face seems

Slowly sinking, wasting

Crumbling like pastries

They scream

The worst things in life come free to us

And we're all under the upperhand

Go mad for a couple of grams

And we don't want to go outside tonight

And in a pipe we fly to the Motherland

Or sell love to another man

It's too cold

For angels to fly

Angels to fly

To fly, fly

Or angels to die

Rosie remembered this song playing in the back of her head one night while everyone was still in training. She'd been all alone in the girls' cabin, with Alex masquerading as a male and her dislike of Danielle to the point where she'd snapped and locked all the doors and windows so that the other girl had to sleep alone outside. That particular night, she'd been having a nightmare about a series of injections she'd received as a child. "Hold still, dammit," her new mother had told her, "If you get chicken pox or tetanus, you might die! Dr. Jaeger has been very patient with you, but now you need to sit the fuck down!" Rosie had refused, and so thus, her parents tied her to a white cow grazing in the pasture. Many nights, she'd had nightmares of the huge creature trampling her to death and then flying away on a snowy breeze, and that song always popped into her mind when she had the recurring modified flashback. Remembering her blood splattered across the white cow's hooves as it flew across her mind made Rosie shudder, and she buried herself deeper in Alex's jacket.

Soul hummed along, looking off, it seemed like yesterday that Alex was playing her guitar during lunch. Rosie and what'shisface would play tag together, Prim would chat with Danny. Soul was doing what he was doing now- humming, only he would be leaning against Alex's legs.

Frowning, how did they get here? There was no logical explanation for why they weren't home. This was not possible. Though this time was a hell of a lot more entertaining.

"Alex you're really good! Could you play another?" Eren asked, this trips were so quiet and boring, they were inside the walls but everyone treated it as though they were about to set out on a mission.

"I would but we're here." Alex said putting the guitar away.

Hanji looked over at the noob, "How'd you know?"

Alex knocked on the side of the cart, "The vibrations changed so did the sound."

Time passed. Soul and Alex unloaded the carriage, it didn't take long but it was a tedious task. Burnthole and Whiner put things in the proper spot, occasionally they'd comment on the language or instrument Alex used and spoke, but the were soon quieted when they felt an intense feeling on them. Armin took Rosie, along with Alex and Soul's bags, to where they would be staying.

Alex went to work cleaning the garden. She scrunched her nose, the floor was filthy, more filthy than Soul's Yaoi collection, looking up at the sky, gray clouds told her she was most likely going to be sick.

Rolling up her sleeves, she began pulling weeds. She'd do the best job ever!

Soul was sitting at the dining table with Rosie. "Hey, do you know where Alex is?"

Rosie shook her head, "No, sorry."

Soul sighed, setting his loaf of bread asid. At this rate, Alex wasn't going to get her share of food for the evening.

Levi, Hanji, and Erwin walked in. Soul felt like he was in some stupid movie, at the time when the cool kids walked in. Soul stared at Levi. He'd made Alex do something. What was it? The thunder outside made Rosie jump up, "HIGH AND LOW PRESSURE SYSTEMS!"

Levi grabbed his food, out of the corner of his eye he saw the girly recruit staring at him. What man let's his wavy hair grow that long?

Soul's eyes widened, "THE GARDEN!" He bolted out of the room, but not before drinking the rest of his stew.

Sure enough, Alex just finished putting away the cleaning supplies in the outside cabinet. Soaked to the bone, she shivered like a chihuahua. "Alex, get your butt over here!"

Alex listened to the scientist as Soul led her into the inner halls of the castle, Rosie franticly making comments and chiding Alex about possibly catching a cold. Soul led them to Alex's room. He told Rosie to go the his own room and grab his blankets. The tiny girl nodded and raced off toward his room, on the other side of the castle.

"You idiot, this is why I don't let you clean!" Soul helped Alex strip out of her soaking wet clothing, quickly he took her bandages and underwear off, her lips turning purple, as fast as he could he toweled her off. Hearing Rosie's foot steps, he pulled some new panties on the girl and turned her around and bandaged her. 'Shit, someone stall her! She doesn't know that I am allowed to touch her like this! 'WOW.. That. just sounds wrong.'

Fortunately, Rosie stalled herself. The pile of blankets she'd grabbed was too tall for her to see over, and much heavier than she'd expected when she'd first picked them up. With her wet shoes on the smooth, slippery stone, all it took was one little stumble to send her flying off her feet and onto the cold, unforgiving floor. With a squeal of pain, she bolted upright, clutching her knee. "Ow! Leave it to me to catch the corner of the one loose stone in the floor…" She mumbled, hurriedly gathering up her now scattered load of blankets.

Alex seemed to have snapped of out her daze long enough to realize she was cold and naked (mostly). "Te..fuck?"

Soul threw her on the bed and Alex responded by rolling into a burrito with the covers on her bed. "W-Who….L-let...M-me...Clean?"

Rosie slammed open the door, carrying (mostly) blankets, "Why do you have so many!?" the girl asked, running out to get the rest she'd forgotten.

"Why not?" Soul began to put blankets on top of Alex, who was warming up quickly.

"Never. Again." Alex coughed out. Her throat was freezing, but her feet were warm.

"Alex, Soul!" Eren called from the doorway, "Eh? Alex, isn't it a bit early to be sleeping?"

"Eren, leave him be!" Rosie snapped, advancing on the older recruit, "He's been out gardening so long he missed dinner, soaked himself to the bone, and to make things worse he's probably caught a cold- or the flu- or pneumonia!" With a glance back at her shivering friend, she added, "He needs his rest to get better."

"Nah. My precious will be fine. Let's just have Alex sleep it off, okay?" Soul said, pushing the other two out of the room. "We'll all get some sleep, and in the morning Alex will be in the dining area with us."

Eren nodded, "If you say so, Soul. I guess going to bed earlier wouldn't hurt. Goodnight."

Rosie thought for a moment. 'I don't really want to go to bed. I like storms. I wonder if anybody'd notice me sneaking out to play in the rain for just a couple minutes…?'

"And if I find either of you doing something even remotely foolish, such as going out in the storm, not even your mother will recognize you." Soul smiled close to Rosie's face. "Then Alex will have the pleasure of playing with you as he likes."

Rosie instantly disregarded her plan of playing in the rain. 'Nothing's worth a beating from Soul! I may heal more quickly here than I did back home, but that doesn't mean I'll go asking for a beating!' She swallowed hard. 'But that still doesn't help the fact that all my work washing the outsides of the windows is probably ruined by all the mud water from the roof. Levi's going to kill me!'

Soul patted their heads, "Off to bed now." Soul told them before he walked off in the direction of his own room disappearing into the shadows.

Eren bid Rosie goodnight before walking the distance to the basement.

Rosie sulked on herway to her room. She really wanted to go outside, but no ass whooping was worth it. Afterall, they would ride in the rain on their horses. Changing into her pjs, she cuddle her makeshift stuffed animal, Posey. Alex had given it to her when they saw each other again, apparently a little Rosie crying in her dreams about Posey drove her to make it. She didn't even have to know Alex to drive her to the edge of insanity.

Soul sighed, staring at his barren bed, quickly changing into his pjs, (read as boxers) he ran back to Alex's room and went under the sheets. 'So warm.'
