Nightwing came to realizing he was strapped to a bed. He was nervous till a voice whispered soothingly in his ear.
"Dad you scared me" he sighed.
"This is only a precaution in case the other teens came in" Batman informed.
"What happened? My head feels like I smashed it into a wall a thousand times" Nightwing said.
"You were shot with a dart that knocked you unconscious"
"Where's the others?"
"They're safe you'll be sent to them soon"
Nightwing saw Superman come in and they cuffed him. As he was led out of the infirmary to see the Young Justice team watching.
"Sir we would like to interrogate him" Kaldur informed.
"Nightwing doesn't talk" Superman said.
"He talked during some of our fights" Zatanna informed.
"He uses a voice thing on his wrist to produce a person saying what ever he types in" Batman explained. "We believe that he can't"
"Okay, but if he doesn't talk why are you moving him?" Wally asked.
"Nightwing is being transported to another location" Batman responded.
Nightwing was led again towards the Zeta Tubes. The two leaguers were stopped by Artemis running towards them.
"You can't take him"
"Why can't we?" Superman asked raising an eyebrow.
"Robin is dead because of him" Superboy replied coming up behind her.
They saw Nightwing shaking his head no and Batman shook him a little by the arm. This made him stop and look towards the ground.
"He'll be punished"
"This is our only chance to get the rest of the Outlaws" Raquel exclaimed.
"This is our chance to get them for what they did to your proteges" Megan added.
"No this isn't" Batman said.
"Why can't you guys just trust us for once. Red Arrow and Robin trusted all of us and you're just going to risk the chance of their killers getting away" Artemis yelled.
"Artemis" Green Arrow's voice was heard.
Batman and Superman turned to leave while the other mentors handled their proteges. They stopped when the lights went out and then came on suddenly.
"What's going on?" Raquel asked.
"This isn't good" Wally said.
"Hello kiddies" a voice said.
Nightwing felt the urge to crawl into Batman's cape at the familiar voice. Batman put a comforting on his shoulder. It looked like he was holding Nightwing back keeping him from running away.
"Don't worry I just want Nighty" the voice laughed.
"Joker, we're giving you him" Superman said.
"Come on. Those little brats have been causing me problems ever since they showed up. They're more annoying than your kids." Joker mumbled. "By the way how was Boy Blunders funeral?"
Batman growled a little wanting to attack the clown. Superman gave him a look towards the rafters. In the shadows were five figures, Red Hood was the closest.
"How did you get in here Joker?" Aqualad asked.
"Deliver in a jack in the box" Joker stated. "Now hand over the boy"
Joker came out of the shadows then. Nightwing felt his stomach jumping every step he took.
"You can't have him" Red Hood was heard.
Joker looked around when a fist arrow came down almost hitting him. As it landed on the ground the five Outlaws landed on the ground.
"Well if it isn't the Outlaws" Joker laughed.
"How did you get in here?" Artemis asked with venom.
"None of your business" Arsenal replied.
"Hoody nice of you and your friends to drop in" Joker taunted.
"We came here for only two reasons" Power Girl said.
"One to get Nightwing" Troia answered.
"And two" Blackfire began.
"To put your clown butt in jail" Red Hood spat.
"You would do that to a fellow criminal" Joker said faking hurt.
"Your in the way of our business" Troia stated.
"Business?" Zatanna looked confused.
"Yeah, what you children interrupted last night" Blackfire spat.
"You kiddies need to learn what it really means to run with us big boys" Joker laughed.
Joker put a hand in his pocket looking at Red Hood. He was about to pull something out when a blast hit his pocket. A small vial fell out and Joker just laughed at the faces of the young justice team.
"You know me so well" Joker smiled.
"Rule one in the business" Power Girl stated. "Always know your competition"
"Go a head take this clown away" Joker teased.
Joker watched as Wally walked forward. He was about to pull out another vial when something hit him in the side. Red Hood stood behind Joker hooding up a gun.
"Taser gun, always useful" Red Hood said. "Now I'll be taking my brother"
"You'll have to go through us first" Conner challenged.
"That's fine with me" Power Girl smirked.
"He slammed you last time" Megan reminded.
"Take him" Batman said.
Batman pushed Nightwing towards Red Hood who picked Nightwing's cuffs. As they fell to the floor the young justice team looked shocked.
"See ya later" Arsenal smirked.
Smoke came from the ground. When it cleared only an unconscious and cuffed Joker remained.
"I really hate them doing that" Wally waved his hand in front of his face.
"Sir how could you let them go?" Aqualad asked.
"Because it would've only caused problems" Superman explained.
"They killed your proteges. Supergirl, Rath, Red Arrow and Robin" Raquel reminded.
"No they didn't" Batman stated.
"What? But-" Wally looked confused.
"Joker killed Rath and Robin" Batman informed.
"Supergirl was killed by Lex Luther" Superman sighed.
"Then why did-" Megan started.
"We thought if Robin and Red Arrow thought it were the Outlaws they'd be more cautious" Green Arrow informed walking in with other mentors.
"So the Outlaws were telling the truth then" Zatanna realized.
"They may be criminals, but wouldn't kill Robin or any of the others" Black Canary said.
"All they wanted were to get our proteges out of the way" Wonder Woman confirmed.
"We don't want to cause trouble with them. They're different from the other criminals" Hawkwoman explained.
"Then what do we do?" Aqualad asked.
"You stay away from the Outlaws" Batman replied dragging Joker behind him.
The teens looked at the floor both confused and sad. They missed Robin running behind Batman laughing and smiling. Also how Red Arrow would always shake his head laughing at the younger.
