Hey all, hope you're enjoying the updates! This episode is based on 'dream a little dream of me'. Personally,I dislike Lisa and Ben, so they will not be in my story at all, hence why this chapter has Kerry not Lisa in it! Enoy :)

...

It was on her way from a hunt a month later that Kerry's phone rang.

"Hello?" she answered.

"Hello, is this Miss Fitzpatrick?"

"Yes, can I ask who this is please?"

"Yes, I'm Dr Roberts from Sanchez Hospital in Pittsburgh. I'm sorry to say your father has been bought in to us."

The car screeched to a halt and Kerry took a few deep breaths.

"What happened, is he okay?" she asked, trying to keep calm.

"All I can say over the phone is that he seems to be in some kind of comatose state but until all the tests come back we can't determine the cause or treatment."

Ending the call, Kerry slammed her foot on the gas then instinctively dialled Dean's number.

"Kerry?" he asked as he answered.

"Dean, get to Sanchez hospital now, dad's been taken in and all I know is he's in some sort of coma so I need you guys here on this one."

Giving him details of the location, she pressed down harder on the gas. Sam and Dean arrived seconds behind her and as she climbed out of the car, Sam pulled her into a hug.

"He'll be okay" he assured her.

She swallowed and nodded, ignoring the shocked look on Dean's face when he saw her. It didn't take long to locate Bobby's room and the moment she saw Bobby, Kerry sat next to him, holding his hand. Not too long after, a doctor came in.

"So what's the diagnosis doc?" Sam asked.

"We're not sure. We have no idea what this is and without a diagnosis, we can't treat it." He said, his voice solemn.

Kerry's grip tightened on Bobby's hand and she looked down at him, worry etched in her features. This was the first time something like this had happened, and in all honesty, she was terrified. Sam lay a hand on her shoulder as Dean thanked the doctor and she looked up at them.

"Guys, I don't want to leave him, can you go to his room and find out what may have happened?"

Sam's hand squeezed her shoulder and he left without another word. Dean stood there for a few seconds before finally looking at her. Unable to meet his gaze without her heart clenching, she kept her eyes firmly on her dad's unmoving face.

"You cut your hair" was his comment.

She wanted to snort but no sound came out. Instead, she simply nodded.

"Yeah, it was getting too long and got in the way of my hunting."

Dean could tell there was more to it than that, but chose not to comment.

"Okay, well, he's gonna be okay, so you stay here and we'll keep you updated."

As he moved to the door he glanced back once again and noticed this time that she'd regained most of the weight she'd previously lost. When she gave him a questioning glance, he slid out of the room rather than explain why he stopped. Only when he was gone did Kerry release the breath she had been holding. She knew he'd notice her hair, she just never expected him to comment and from the tone of his voice, he clearly didn't think the change was good.

"Tough, he'll just have to deal with it" she thought to herself before settling in to her chair and waiting.

Kerry didn't know how long it had been since the guys left but she woke up when she heard someone move in the room. Sitting up in surprise, she glanced around, relaxing when she saw Dean sitting on another chair in the room, watching her.

"Haymow long have you been here?" she asked, still surprised that she'd actually fallen asleep.

"Only about 10 minutes. Any changes?" he asked, inclining his head towards Bobby.

"Nothing. Any updates on that?"

"All we have so far is that some doctor was working on sleep disorders and that apparently he died by falling asleep and not waking up again. Other than that we have no clue."

Kerry's stomach lurched and she fought against the want to vomit. Instead, she once more grasped her dad's hand, silently urging him to wake up. Dean watched the slow rising and falling of Bobby's chest, the only thing confirming he was alive, and turned his head when he heard the door open from behind him, revealing Sam. He explained to them about African dream root and Kerry frowned at the floor, wandering how her dad ended up in this situation, lying in a hospital bed. Had he taken it, or was someone in his dream?

Sam and Dean headed out again, but less than 10 minutes later, Sam was back.

"Hey, we have a plan to get some dream root and try and access Bobby through his dreams."

Immediately, Kerry stood and grabbed her jacket.

"Brilliant, let's go then."

Sam grasped her arm before she could leave and she saw the worry in his eyes.

"You sure? You could stay."

"Thanks Sam, but that's my dad. If I can help by going into his dreams then I would rather that than stick around here."

Sam nodded and the pair jogged to meet Dean, who didn't look too happy that Kerry was coming with them.

"It's my dad we're talking about, so don't even attempt to argue" she snapped before he could say a word.

Holding his hands up in surrender, Dean slid into the car, still not pleased she was coming, but also relieved that she still had fight in her. Once they reached the motel, a call was made to Bela and then they just had to wait. It didn't take long for Sam to fall asleep and Kerry found herself locked in an uncomfortable silence with Dean, only broken when Sam snorted in his sleep, making Kerry giggle.

"So…look, I'm sorry about what I said last time I saw you. I was a dick. I just didn't know what to say or how to explain why I was ignoring you."

"It's okay Dean, I get it" Kerry responded quietly, her voice morose. "I'm like a kid sister to you and I was clearly making you uncomfortable."

Dean moved out of his chair and stood in front of her, gently cupping her chin to make her look at him.

"If that were true then I wouldn't have been ignoring you. Look, I don't know what I think or feel about you, but I promise you, I'll figure it out before all hell literally breaks loose, okay?"

Kerry was unable to respond as Sam suddenly started making some very interesting noises. Letting her go, Dean moved back to his chair and Kerry sat on the bed, her mind reeling from surprise. When Sam started moaning, Dean had enough and woke him. It was just in time as moments later, Bela arrived with their dream root. Kerry eyes the brunette and like with Ruby, instantly disliked the woman; she was too arrogant. However, when she mentioned she was doing it for Bobby, Kerry rose from her seat.

"And exactly how do you know my dad?" she questioned.

Bela turned to smile at her, but there was no warmth, only a coldness that Kerry had only ever seen in those with barely a soul.

"He saved me in Flagstaff once, I figured I should return the favour."

As she left, Dean and Kerry exchanged glances at Sam's reaction and Kerry began choking as she realised the reason- Bela was the one he was dreaming about! Trying not to laugh, she made an excuse to leave the room where she stood catching her breath. When she came back, Dean was preparing the tea and handed her a cup once finished. She dropped on the sofa and the brothers took the beds. She added her dad's hair trying not to think about how gross the whole thing was then finally, Dean gave the signal and they drank.

Kerry shuddered as she finished her drink, then looked around the room. Nothing was different, and she could only sigh at the thought that maybe Bela had tricked them. Suddenly though, the room changed and though she was still sitting, the couch was completely different and it was clear that they weren't in the motel anymore.

"You know this place Kerry?" Dean asked.

"It's my dad's place, but must be from way before I was born- it's never been this tidy when I've seen it" she replied, in awe that her house had once upon a time actually been in a good state.

Wandering around, Kerry only briefly heard Sam say he'd look outside; she was more fascinated by how clean and organised the place was to really care. Dean caught up with her and put a hand on her shoulder.

"We should stick together in case there's anything nasty here."

Kerry didn't disagree and the pair moved through the house looking for her dad. It felt too surreal, walking through her bedroom that looked like it was once a sewing room, and she couldn't shake the feeling that something messed up was happening. Still, they pushed on until they heard Bobby respond to Dean. The moment the door was open, Kerry flung herself at her dad and he gaped at her.

"Why are you here?" he asked her.

Dean and Kerry shared a look and before they could say anything, the lights began to flicker. Bobby immediately panicked and grabbed Kerry, pulling her behind him as Dean tried to persuade Bobby that it was all a dream. Kerry's eyes widened as the door creaked open behind Dean and she gasped as she recognised the woman as her dad's wife.

"Bobby, who is that?" Dean asked.

"My wife" Bobby responded, terror Kerry had never heard and never wanted to hear again, in his voice.

As bobby pleaded with his wife, Kerry could only watch stunned as she ran towards them, ready to attack. Dean grabbed them both and shoved them into another room, before pleading with Bobby to wake up and snap out of it. Kerry stood in the corner of the room, iron poker in hand from beside the fireplace when suddenly the banging stopped. Dean moved to check the hallway really was clear and Bobby moved over to Kerry, gently tugging on her arm until she moved into his embrace.

Next thing she knew, all three of them were waking up in their room. Kerry wasted no time in running out to the Impala and within minutes they were back at the hospital. Kerry burst into the room and when she saw Bobby sitting up, she launched herself at him.

"Don't you ever do that to me again!" she cried as she hugged him.

Once they sat down and discussed the problem, Dean suddenly revealed that he had accepted a beer off the guy they were searching for. At once, all of them turned to stare at him in disbelief.

"I was thirsty" was his defence.

Kerry rolled her eyes as Sam started yelling. The end result was the unanimous decision that Bobby and Dean were not to fall asleep. Kerry opted to stay and help Bobby while Sam stuck with Dean. Two days later, Bobby was becoming slightly snappy as he followed their last lead and Kerry heard from Sam that Dean was downright snarly. Bela had opted to help them and though she was still a bitch, Kerry had softened slightly, deciding that though she was probably going to two-time them in some way, Bela was actually an interesting person to talk to and the pair bonded.

"Why do you have your hair so short?" Bela asked while Bobby called Dean.

"I flipped out one day and just cut it. Basically I let someone get to me that shouldn't have and made a stupid decision because of it."

Bela nodded in understanding.

"Yeah, I get that. Love and fear make people do crazy things. I think you'd look really stunning with your hair longer though, if you don't mind me saying."

Kerry smiled at the woman, but her stomach clenched once more at the reminder that Ruby had gotten to her far more than she should have.

…..

Dean had enough. Stopping the car, he declared he was going to sleep and with some persuasion, agreed for Sam to join him. As soon as they were in the dream, they climbed out of the Impala and Dean looked over into a clearing to see Kerry sitting on the floor, her hair cascading down her back, a warm smile on her face as she looked up at him.

"Hey you" she greeted then stood up, revealing a deep purple dress that defined a very pregnant stomach that she gently stroked with her left hand, a wedding band glinting in the light coming from the impala headlights.

"Are you going to stand there all day or are you gonna kiss me?" she continued, still smiling warmly.

"I've never had this dream before" Dean said to Sam as Kerry vanished, but his tone implied that he had most definitely dreamt this scenario.

After a few seconds silence from his brother, he frowned.

"Stop looking at me like that Sam" he warned.

Another flash and this time, Dean was lying in a hospital bed, Kerry leaning over him with tears down her cheeks as she spoke to him.

"You are going to be okay Dean Winchester. You've been through enough crap in your life to be able to fight this and come through it in one piece. We need you, all of us. Sam needs you to be his annoying big brother, John needs you to be his pillar of support, my dad needs you to give him another reason to smile and I need you, because, well, goddammit Dean I'm completely and totally in love with you, you brainless, hopeless, bloody moron, but you've never even noticed me! How can I go on living as happily as I do now if you're not here to share it with? Sure, you drive us all crazy and I hate that you're always off with different women, but I'll never stop loving you as long as you stay here and don't abandon us."

When she finished, she kissed his cheek and stood back to look at him. Just like that, she was gone again, leaving Sam and Dean standing in an awkward silence, Dean too afraid to look at Sam's reaction. The moment was short lived as Sam spotted Jeremy in the bushes and they took off after him. It didn't take long for them to be separated and Sam immediately started searching for his older brother. Dean found himself walking into a room, where he came face to face… with himself. He stood listening to his other self, pleading to wake up.

"After all… you have no-one outside of Sam, you are nothing."

Dean glared.

"You're wrong. I have Bobby, and I have Kerry."

The other Dean snorted in amusement.

"You mean Kerry that you always dream about and secret have been wanting for months. The Kerry you've lied to and hurt time and time again? Right, because you're really going to actually admit it to her that you love her. You are NOTHING! You are an obedient dog, following dad's commands and every wish. Daddy's blunt little instrument."

Dean snapped, shooting his other self, only to recoil in horror as he watched the other Dean's eyes turn black, the eyes of a demon.

"This is what you're gonna become!" it taunted.

An instant later, Dean was waking up in the car and found himself catching his breath. The drive back was quiet and when he walked into the motel, he saw Kerry breath a deep sigh of relief. His stomach flipped at the site of her and he knew that he had made his choice. Before he could move to her, he was intercepted by Bobby. Mentally, he decided it could wait a bit longer and focussed his attention on the older man. It was a few seconds later that they realised Bela stole the colt and Kerry could only give a bemused wave as they flew out of the motel after her.
