Accepting a Rejection

Was she supposed to just cry and accept and then move on?

No, she wasn't going to let go. Give up. 'I won't accept that.' She wouldn't accept that.

He held up his hands. Like he was trying to grab the situation. Diffuse it. 'Don't make a scene,' he pleaded.

She could do that. She could make a scene. She could do worse than make a scene.

'Then take back what you said.'

Otherwise this knife of hers would cut someone. And he could see it.

He was crying when he took those words back. But she was happy now.
