Author's Note: These are just a series of one shots that aren't always going to be related to the canon plot. Sorry this chapter is so short, but I just wanted to mix it up from the last two. This will be an AU one shot because I felt like everything else I started was a bit too cliche for my tastes, so I hope you enjoy!
Eren was getting annoyed.
He understood that his sister had always been unusually protective since she was adopted into the family. It was fine when they had been children, but he had thought that she had lightened up on the whole protective older sibling thing when they were still in middle school. It had been almost a year since the last time she came to his classroom to walk him home after school or watch one of his basketball practices, but since a couple months ago, it had started all over again. And she wasn't just quietly watching his practices like she had when he was in middle school. No, now she was constantly bickering with his team Captain.
He knew that Mikasa and Levi didn't get along, but he felt like their mutual dislike was entirely unwarranted.
Yes, the captain had pushed Eren until he'd passed out and yes, maybe he'd gone home and vented to his sister. But that didn't give her reason to show up at his practices and taught his Captain! Her constantly referring to Levi as "midget" was not helping his cause in any way. If anything, it was making the Captain more irritated and therefore, he took it out on the rookies of the team. What Eren had to do now, was think of a way to keep his sister away from his captain until she could either learn to keep quiet or until he could convince her to stop coming to his practices all together.
Coming up with excuses from keeping his sister from coming to his practices seemed to be the only thing he thought about now a days.
What was it about those two that had them constantly at each other's throats?
Levi being a tough Captain wasn't something that should have bothered Mikasa so severely. It was like there was something else that he was missing, but couldn't quite put his finger on. So instead of focusing on the teacher's lecture, Eren thought of why the school's top two students would clash so much. It was more interesting than a history lesson anyway.
As soon as the bell rang to signal the end of the school day, he ran from his classroom to his locker. He did a quick sweep of the vicinity to check for a head of black hair and a red scarf.
The coast was clear.
Eren grabbed his gym bag from his locker and quickly made his way to the gym. He didn't know why he was acting so paranoid. Mikasa had already told him during lunch that she had received a note to come meet someone after class today. She probably wouldn't be hanging around to watch his practice after meeting someone to decline another confession, right?
He got to the front of the gym when he noticed his other teammates all standing around the doors fighting for space to look through the small windows on the doors. They were all clearly trying to get a look at something inside, but from the looks of it, nobody was making any effort to actually go inside.
"Hey, what are you all looking at?", Eren asked as he tried to make his way through the crowd.
Everyone froze when they heard his voice and turned to look at him with what almost looked like guilty expressions. "What is it? What's going on?", he asked, not getting a good feeling from the silence.
Connie was the first one to block his way. "Hey buddy, how's it going? Weathers looking pretty good outside, how about we just go practice shooting outside today?!"
Jean popped up next to Eren, taking one of his arms and started to pull him towards the exit. "Yeah I think Connie's got the right idea! A little fresh air would do us some good!", he said a little too enthusiastically.
Eren tried to pull his arm away from Jean's grip. "That sounds great guys, but I doubt the Captain's going to be happy to see that we're slacking on his training regiment to just shoot some hoops outside." He turned back towards the gym doors when he noticed Bertolt and Reiner were completely blocking his view of the double doors. "Come on you guys, this is getting ridiculous. Are you trying to keep me out of the gym or something?", he looked back and forth between their grinning faces. Not liking the feeling he was starting to get in the pit of his stomach, Eren looked around his surroundings to see the best way to maneuver through his teammates and into the gym.
His teammates must have sensed his inner plans, because before he could make a break for it, the members of the Titan basketball team had already grabbed each of Eren's limbs and were carrying him out of the school and towards their outdoor courts.
Reiner let out a hearty laugh and Eren thought he heard him say, "the Captain owes us", as he lead the group of rowdy young men out the school doors. The feeling in Eren's stomach got heavier at that comment and he tried even harder to break free of their iron grip.
Eren's shouts and protests could be heard, even after the school's doors had slammed themselves shut.
Meanwhile, inside the gym; Mikasa broke her gaze with the basketball captain to glance at the the doors where she could have sworn she heard her brother shouting.
