"So, you have a daughter?" Jack smiled.

"Y-yeah, we're going to tell her when she's older, but I don't regret the decision." He coughed lightly.

"Are you gonna have more in the future? When you meet Mr. Right?" Jack asked hesitantly, as he thrummed his fingers on the cane.

"M-maybe... I'd like to." He smiled, keeping his eyes on the road.

"Yeah," Jack sighed, and stretched as far as the seat would allow him to, "I'm great with kids. Uh, well, I was back in Afghanistan. I don't really know about here though. I don't know anyone, uh, well aside from your family, and mother of your child, anyways..." He trailed off lightly and a light heat wafted over his cheeks.

Hiccup smiled, I'm sure he'd be a great dad... Whoa, whoa, hold up. The hell? He shook his head lightly.

"What?" Jack laughed, catching the brunette shaking his head.

"N-nothing. Why do you think you wouldn't do good with kids?" Hiccup scratched his neck, and kept on going through the town.

"I'm afraid," He began lightly. "What if I have flashbacks. I don't even remember who I was with in the explosion, I'm worried that I'm gonna freak them out. The kids in the middle east are very different from the ones here. And I just... I don't know..." Jack frowned out the window.

"I have a really good friend I would like for you to meet. She's a rape trauma councilor, but she herself was in war and she knows exactly what you're going through. She is on the petite side, but, she's a great woman." Hiccup smiled, and pulled out his wallet at a stop sign, and handed Jack a card reading; Fa Mulan. Trauma councilor. With two sets of numbers on the card, and an address. "She runs it out of her home actually, it's at the end of the block, so tomorrow, while I'm away at work you can walk down and meet her. And, be careful, she may be a small old woman, but she is feisty." Hiccup smiled, and turned down their street, and pulled into his driveway, and up into the garage, with the door, coming down behind them.

Hiccup got out first, and let Xena out of the back seat, also unhooking the leash.

Jack, was a little slow to get out, but, it was only because he was tired. Hiccup hung back at the garage door, to make sure Jack was alright, but he could see that he was tired. "Mkay, now, you go shower, and then if you want I can make something to eat."

"Nah, I'll just shower, and sleep. I'm still kind of feeling full from earlier." He smiled, and walked past the other male, he hid the heat in his cheeks when he gently bumped into his shoulder.

"Okay, go do what you need to." Hiccup smiled wider, upon noticing Jack's blush, and headed into the kitchen to feed Toothless and Xena.

After Jack climbed the stairs, he went to his room for a change of clothes. After rummaging in some drawers, he went to the bathroom as he was reaching for the handle, it swung open, and a shirtless Hiccup almost ran into him.

"Oh, god, s-sorry." His face turned crimson, and he moved out of Jack's way.

"It's cool." Jack chuckled, but once behind the door, his face was pink. Once the heat had died down from his cheeks, he stripped, and removed the leg as the water ran behind him. He gently got in, and let the warm water soothe his muscles. He sat for a few minutes, before he washed himself, and then got out pulling the plug behind him. After he dried off, he slipped the leg on, and redressed himself. He opened the door, and went to his room, where, he removed the leg once more, and applied the ointment Hiccup had given him, and wrapped it in a thin layer of gauze. And he set the leg against the night stand, and laid back on the bed, and closed his eyes, falling into a peaceful sleep.

Hiccup sat on his bed, after he had ran into Jack. His blush was almost permanent. Yes, he thought Jack was handsome. Yes, he had to admit it sometime soon. Sighing, he listened for running water, and he heard it, softly he closed the door. He reached for his cell, and called Astrid. After a few rings, she picked up. "Hey."

"Hey, Astrid." He sighed heavily.

"Alright what happened?" She expected something really bad to have happened, you know, like him walking in on Jack completely naked. But no. She got an over reacting Hiccup. Like always.

"I don't know. I can't stop thinking these things, and they're all about him, and I just," Another sigh, "I don't know. I can't stop them."

"You aren't supposed to stop them, you dingus. Quit over reacting." She sighed into the device.

"Yeah, but, he's my patient. And living in my home, because he has nowhere to go." He sighed.

"Doesn't that syndrome go the other way around?" She joked, and Hiccup scoffed.

"Duude!" He whined after a while.

"Alright, alright. Just sleep on it, and call me tomorrow? I need to give Cami a bath, okay?"

"Alright, I'll call when I can tomorrow." He frowned, and they said their good byes too fast, and now he was alone with his mind. Such a treacherous thing. He gathered his clothes, and went to the bathroom, but he noticed Jack's door was ajar, and carefully he peeked in to see the man, lying peacefully in bed. And the small black blur that is Toothless, climbing onto the bed to sleep on the man. He continued to the bathroom to put his dirty clothes into the hamper, and down the stairs to cut the lights off.

After all the lights were off, he walked up stairs to see the bushy white dog sitting in front of his room. He smiled at her, and let her slip into the room before he did, she waited for him to get in bed, and set his alarm before hopping up next to him and falling asleep.

Jack woke with a smile on his lips, and a fuzzy ball on his chest. Happily and carefully he removed said ball of fuzz, and rolled out of the bed, to put his leg on. He picked up his unused phone, and checked the time, 1:14. He left the sleeping cat, and went down stairs to the kitchen. On the coffee pot he saw a letter, reading;

Left for work, I'll be back around five. Be good Jack, and make sure Toothless doesn't break anything. Xena is with me today, a change of things is good sometimes. Here's my cell if you need it. 555-9835.

Smiling he set the note down, and poured himself a cup of coffee. The big place was very much quiet, and Jack had a hard time not falling asleep again. He finished his third cup when he decided he would go see that councilor Hiccup had told him about. He went back upstairs, and changed into a pair of dark blue jeans, and a blue and gray stripped V-neck. He grabbed the cane and card, and headed back downstairs, to fill Toothless' bowl before he left the house with the spare key in his hand, and Hiccup's note in his pocket.

He looked at the card and saw it was about seven houses away at the end of the street, so he casually walked the sidewalk, until he came to the house. It was a big home, with a sign on the lawn; Fa Mulan. Trauma councilor. With the two numbers from the card also on the sign. He walked up the small stone path to the front door, and lightly he knocked. He waited ten minutes before a small, young Asian woman opened the door, her midnight hair was pulled back into a bun, and two chopsticks were poked through the base and stood out behind her head. "Hello, my name is Mae. Please come in and sit. We just opened." She said politely, her voice had little to no trace of her accent. Jack slowly walked in, and followed her to a room filled with color, and beautiful artifacts. As he sat he let his eyes roam over the room.

"Hello." A soft, tender voice called to Jack, and he looked forward, seeing a small thin woman, with gray hair, "I am Fa Mulan. What brings you to me, young man?"

"Uh, I'm Jack. And my doctor recommended you to me. I just got back from war, mentally, but physically it's been three months." Jack sighed.

"But you are here for something else?" the woman questioned firmly.

"Uh, yes, I'm here, because, I'm living with my doctor. I have nowhere to go. And I'm having issues. With myself." He ended on a trembling note.

"Issues such as, you are seeing him differently? And wish that he too will see you in such ways you see him?" She sat back further in her seat, and smiled.

"Yeah... But I don't know what to do about it." Jack frowned and played with his fingers.

"Don't. Let him come around. Heavens knows he will with such a handsome man around." Her eyes shone brightly, and her crow's feet winked with her smile.

"Isn't it wrong though. He's my doctor."

The woman sighed. "I fell in love with my commanding officer, and I was posing as a man. It's not wrong if it's love." She smiled again. "Now your doctor wouldn't happen to be little Hiccup, would it?"

"Yes, that's him. How'd you know?" He looked at her skeptically.

"There's nothing wrong with it." She smiled again, He's finally getting what he deserves from life; A good man. "Well, if that is all you have, then should you be away?"

"Well, there's one more thing. When I was away at war, the kids in the Middle East were very different from the ones here. If my significant other wants kids, how do I know I'll be good enough?" Jack ended on a soft tone.

"Well, it all depends if you love them enough. If you are willing to give a small piece of yourself to wanting more out of life with them. Then you will feel like it will only make your lives worth more." She smiled at Jack.

"Thank you for your time." Jack said after letting her words sink in a little.

"Don't be a stranger, kiddo, come by sometime for tea." She called to him as he walked to the door, and left.

With his cane tight in his grip, he walked down the stone path, and to the side walk. As he strode back home, he pulled the cell phone out and checked the time. 4:39. Great, enough time to go back and work downstairs. Jack smiled, and walked the distance of the small slope in front of the house. He pulled the spare key from his pocket, and quickly let himself in. As he walked to the door in the staircase, he heard faint crunching, He knew Toothless was eating, and would look for him later, so he left a cat-sized crack in the door before he went down to work out a little. He felt like he was at least a little normal. When he would get upset, his C.O. Would let him go and run, or make him do jumping jacks or push ups. Anything that made him strain to use the energy. He dropped the way his C.O. Made him and started doing push ups. And once he reached 50 he changed to crunches, something a little more challenging, and took turns changing exercises. After about a hour or so of doing that, he grabbed a few sets of dumbbells, and sat at the bench pushing himself, but not too much.

Sighing Hiccup got in his car and pulled out his phone checking the time. 5:58. I hope Jack is doing okay... The dog gave a soft bark from the backseat, and Hiccup started the car, slowly he backed up and drove through the parking lot.

The drive home was far too silent, so he flipped on the radio where he listened to a song where the singer elaborately stalked her ex, creeping into his home, smelling his clothes, which led to other thoughts, like the singer laying in the other's bed, smelling the sheets, simply an unrequited love song.

He couldn't care for the next songs to play, he was entrapped in his own mind, body driving all on it's own volition.

His mind was full yet it was empty, he couldn't decide what to think about, all his thoughts had cleared, yet a nagging thought escaped his mind's reach.

He blinked and saw he was already home. He huffed and pulled himself along with his bag from his car, and opened the back seat door, as the fluffy beast hoped out, and casually strode to the door. Quickly he pulled his keys from his pocket, and slipped the key into the handle, he let the beast in, and was surprised to see not a person or cat in sight. "Jack?" He questioned, but instead he got a happy, purring Toothless. "Hey, bud, you see Jack?"

As if on cue, Jack pulled open the downstairs door, and stepped out, shirtless, and sweaty. "Oh, hey. How was work?"

"Oh, i-it was tiring, as always…"Hiccup sighed, and looked Jack up and down, and tried not to stare, but he did, when he saw a harsh red line going down Jack's abdomen, "What happened here?" he asked pointing, as he set his bag on the couch, and pulled out a patch-like Band-Aid.

"Ah, I was downstairs, working out some, and I cut myself on one of the benches…" Jack said slowly, as he let the doctor man apply the bandage.

Sighing he placed the thin bandage on his abdomen, "Jack you have got to be careful..." he stood and was just under the salt'n'pepper haired man's gaze, making him only a few inches shorter than the other man. Their eyes locked, and they held the gaze, and with out knowing they were mere centimeters part, and not a single thought passed in either of their minds as they sprung forward, Jack wrapping his arms around Hiccup's waist, and Hiccup wrapped his arms around Jack's neck, and pulled him forward, their lips catching one another, and moving quickly, breaking a few times to catch small gasps of air, but after a good twenty minutes, Hiccup's eyes shot open, his hands shoving Jack back a few inches, a harsh slap stinging the taller man's bare shoulders. "I-I-I'm sorry..." Hiccup backed away, and pulled his arms around himself, tears ebbing at his eyes, as he quickly walked up the stairs and up to his room.

Sighing Jack frowned and rubbed his red shoulder. He walked into the kitchen, and decided he was going to make dinner that night, yet, he was going to clean himself up first, he rushed up the stairs taking them two at a time, but he slipped in the second to last step and almost fell on his face, he growled at the accursed thing, and rushed to his room, and pulled some clothes from the closet, and to the bathroom, he stripped, and filled the tub with water, and soap.

Hiccup sniffed lightly, and blew his nose before he pulled his cell from his pocket, and dialed Astrid's number, and hit the glowing green call button and it rang for a few moments, before a soft hello rang out.

"Thank god, Astrid.." he croaked softly, and pulled his knees to his chest.

"Oh no, what now?" She sighed, and Hiccup could practically hear her eyes rolling.

"I kissed him... now he's gonna hate me..." his voice cracked softly.

"Oh, honey... No he won't, tell me what happened." She spoke softly the concern clearly evident in her voice.

"We were just talking and it just happened... I told him to be careful, because he had a cut from working out downstairs... then I stood and we were kissing, I mean I don't even remember what I was gonna do..." his voice creaked lightly and he pulled himself closer to his legs.

"I bet he kiss you back thought, right?" She asked softly, " Tell me, did he put his arms around your waist?" a soft 'mhmm' confirmed this, " Did he lean in, or did he pull away?"

"Leaned in... I think..." he cleared his throat and sat up a little.

" See, that's not bad," she smiled softly, and sighed, " God you need a lot of hand holding."

"I-I've never done this before..." Hiccup frowned.

" I know, but it"s good to know that I'm here for you, you can always count on me, we're best friends. And we always will be, okay? Now, I have got to go, Cami can't sleep, so we're gonna get some milk, and then head off to bedy-bye, so good night, you big dork." Astrid spoke softly and lightly sarcastically.

"Okay, good night." Hiccup didn't pull the phone from his ear until he heard the line go dead. He stretched, and wiped his face with his sleeve, and before he could do anything else, he smelled something amazing from downstairs. He stood and pulled the door open, and the dimly lit rooms peaked his interests, and he carefully climbed down the stairs, and followed the light trail of tea lights, and turned into the kitchen, seeing the room was a little brighter than the others, and the table was set, an elegant dinner placed carefully for two.

"Hiccup... please sit," Jack placed a hand to the small of his back, and guided him to the table, and carefully pulled a chair for him to sit at, once Hiccup was seated, Jack sat just opposite of him, a small smile on his face, and a light pink hue on his cheeks.

"Jack, this is... it looks great," Hiccup looked down at the meal in front of him, it was a small portion of steak, grilled, and set with a side of assorted vegetables, and a glass of wine.

"Thanks, well... Bon appetite." He smirked and placed the napkin on his lap, and gently began to eat the meal, a certain grace filing his features.

Hiccup watched for a few moments, before he too took a dive and cut a piece of the steak off and gently pulled it from the fork, the flavors swirling in his mouth a soft moan pushed its way through his throat, and he looked at Jack.

" My C.O. Taught me to cook. Said I'd need it one day. Now I know he was right." Jack winked at the other man and took another small bite of the steak before he sipped the wine.
