Lee was heading out of his apartment on Wednesday morning when Amanda pulled up in front of his car. Pleasantly surprised, he walked over to the driver's side and opened the car door for her. "Good morning, Mrs. Stetson." He greeted. Stepping out of the car, Amanda gave him a quick hello kiss.

"Good morning." He didn't miss her questioning look or the relief when she found what she was looking forward. "I thought I'd swing by and make sure you had some moral support for your first morning back at work." Lee hugged her. Trust Amanda to know without being asked when he wanted her at his side.

"I love the company." Pleased, Amanda locked her car and hurried to the passenger side of his car. They'd already planned on supper at her place tonight. With everyone at the Agency aware of their marriage, it was past time to tell her family too. Lee had wanted to do it as soon as they left Mrs. McMurtreys on Monday night but Amanda had insisted that he needed to take a day to think about it and deal with any fallout at the office. They'd had yesterday off and it was now time to pay the piper.

Traffic was light and they reached the Agency a bit quicker than Lee would have liked. Taking Amanda's hand, Lee walked with her into the Georgetown Foyer. "The password is serendipity." Lee said, carefully clipping Amanda's badge to her blouse. Amanda accepted Lee's badge and attached it to his lapel before they made their way to the elevator. Taking her hands and a deep breath, Lee smiled ruefully. "Here goes nothing." Walking with confidence that neither of them felt, they were stunned when the guards pulled open the doors and they faced the entirety of the division staff, happily standing beneath a brightly painted Congratulations Mr & Mrs. Stetson. Francine and Billy were front and centre with a small wedding cake and a small pile of wedding gifts. Amanda looked up at Lee and felt her eyes water at his expression. Grinning from ear to ear, but with very pink cheekbones, his eyes were suspiciously damp too.

"Speech!" Ephraim yelled, a call that was immediately taken up by everyone else. Wrapping an arm around Amanda, Lee pulled her close and complied.

"Uhm, I don't really know what to say. I guess I kind of said it all last Monday." Lee said ruefully, earning a laugh. "All I can say is that four years ago when I handed a package off to a nightgown-clad woman on the Union Station pier, I had no idea that she was…"

"Wonderful!" Everyone supplied, making both Amanda and Lee laugh.

"Yeah, that's the word." Lee confirmed. He was touched that his co-workers had found this way of mitigating his embarrassment. "Anyways, it took me long enough,"

"Four years!" Billy reminded.

"Four years." Lee confirmed. "But the deed's been done. Amanda and I got married this past February. I guess all that's left is to invite you all out to Nedlinger's for a few rounds on Friday night." There were cheers at this announcement and everyone surged forward to offer personal congratulations to them. "Not a bad way to start the week." Lee said to Billy a short time later with a piece of wedding cake in one hand and a cup of coffee in another. Amanda was chatting with Francine and a few other women. "Thanks, Billy."

"My pleasure. I can't tell you how delighted I was to know you'd finally smartened up and married Amanda. She's good for you."

"She's perfect for me." Lee said softly. Smiling sheepishly at his friend and boss, Lee acknowledged Billy's contribution to his happiness. "Thanks for making us work together so much, especially at the beginning. I never saw it coming back then."

"Not surprising. Love's like that. When I met Jeannie, I thought she was too sweet, too innocent to be able to handle marriage to an agent. Took me too long to understand how important it is to have someone like that to keep things real. You can't do this job if you don't have someone there to pull you back into the real world once in a while. Have you told Amanda's family yet?"

"Tonight." Lee said. Noticing the looks he was getting from the female agents, and Amanda's high blush, Lee grinned at Billy. "I better go rescue my wife!"
