How could someone think with Cyborg in their ear.
...
"I'm just saying, Cy, I shouldn't be here. The others can pull off being discreet, but I can't." The changeling argued through his ear bud. "I should be with you in the surveillance van."
*"You know, BB, you're not as big of a green flag as you think you are. Plus, you would be bugging me, saying how boring it is watching cameras."* Cyborg defended.
Beast Boy huffed, though he had to admit that was probably true. "So, do you see anything suspicious?" He asked, casually looking around the party.
*"Nothing yet. Nightwing and Star are showing off on the dance floor as usual. And Raven's outside."*
Beast Boy suddenly looked towards the door. "Why is she outside?" He asked.
*"I don't know. She isn't responding to me."* Cyborg said in irritation as he repeatedly tried to contact her.
"I'll go check on her." The changeling spoke out loud as he started heading towards the door.
He opened the back door to the patio and felt immediate relief from the noisy music inside. He continued forward, glancing around until he spotted her in the far left. She was leaning against the deck railing, her hair and long dress blowing with the breeze.
Despite already seeing her appearance before the mission started, he couldn't help but smile at her lovely silhouette.
The dark blue dress she was forced to wear for the mission was slimming, and hugged her in just the right places. It highlighted her curvy figure, and had a long slit up the side, showing off her long smooth legs that led up to the curve of her…
*"Keep your eyes in your head, Grass Stain."* Cyborg interrupted and Beast Boy could practically hear the smirk in his voice.
"Cy, shut up!" Beast Boy shouted in embarrassment as if his friend could read his mind.
The outburst caused Raven to abruptly turn around. "Beast Boy, what are you doing out here?" She asked, slightly startled.
He blushed, nervously scratching the back of his neck. "Um… Cy wanted me to check on you." He said quickly.
*"Hey man, you were the one wondering about her."* Cyborg said defensively.
"Ugh." She groaned. "He was driving me crazy, I had to turn off my microphone." She spoke, leaning back on the railing.
*"I was not!"* Cyborg defended again.
"Yeah, I'm thinking about turning mine off too." Beast Boy said, leaning beside her.
*"I heard that."*
"So, what are you doing out here?" He suddenly asked.
"The party was getting overwhelming." Raven confessed. "Plus, it's a nice night."
Beast Boy nodded, taking in the calm, quiet summer's night. The night sky was clear, not a cloud in sight, and allowed the full moon to light up the sky.
But then his eyes began to wonder again, looking over to that hip-hugging dress, her long dark hair, and her glowing skin tone under the moonlight.
*"BB and Rae Rae sittin' in a tree."*
Beast Boy huffed loudly at Cyborg's ballad, causing Raven to turn to him.
"What?" She asked curiously.
"Oh ,nothing. Cyborg's just getting on my nerves." He said in irritation.
"Yeah, he'll do that." She said impassively, facing forward again.
*"Gee… thanks, Rae."*
The night air grew quiet once more as crickets could be heard chirping in the background. Beast Boy continued to glance at the girl beside him before looking off towards the pool as a mischievous smile crept on his lips.
"Wanna do something crazy?" He suddenly asked.
She turned to face him, looking at him curiously. "Like what?" She asked, slightly intrigued.
He couldn't help but grin. "Let's go swimming."
"In our clothes?" She questioned.
*"Or without them."* Cyborg added quietly.
"Yeah, why not?" Beast Boy spoke, walking down the three steps of the patio deck and towards the pool. "Just hop in." He said, making a jumping gesture with his arms.
Despite rolling her eyes, she found herself smiling slightly as she followed him down the stairs.
"So, what do you say?" He asked, continuing to smile.
She shook her head, but still had a hint of a curve on her lips.
*"She's asking for it -just push her."* Cyborg almost blurted.
"I'm not gonna push her, Cyborg." Beast Boy accidentally said out loud.
"No, but I'll push you." Raven said, shoving him face first into the water.
Beast Boy quickly rose to the surface, shaking his wet hair. "Hey!" He whined as he treaded in front of her.
Ignoring the shock of being pushed into the pool, Beast Boy was surprised Raven would do such a thing. But it wasn't her pushing him that was so surprising, it was the mischievous smirk that was on her lips.
Raven was being playful, and it was a wonderful sight to see.
He couldn't help but chuckle to himself as he leaned back into a back-float.
*"I am so glad I made these waterproof."*
Raven was somewhat amused by his reaction as she watched him do a small back flip, only to rise and squirt water out of his mouth like a fountain.
"It's not that bad." He said as he started swimming towards her.
She crossed her arms and leaned over the edge, smirking down at him. She was about to make a sarcastic comment towards his child like actions when an evil smirk suddenly appeared on his face through the water.
Her eyes widened. "Don't you-" She let out a small shriek as he jumped up and grabbed her, pulling her into the pool.
They rose with a gasp, and she immediately glared at his stupid toothy grin that mocked her through the ripples. But even though she was irritated, she wasn't mad. And after a minute, she couldn't help but smile lightly at him.
*"Interesting, she doesn't even seem to be upset."* Cyborg noticed, staring at the cameras in surprise.
Beast Boy ignored Cyborg's comment and instead splashed Raven to distract himself from the man in his ear.
She huffed, shocked at the action, before splashing him back. A battle quickly developed as they went back and forth, splashing one another.
There actions were childlike, which wasn't anything new for Beast Boy, but the fact that Raven was also interacting in the behavior was surprising.
Beast Boy grinned as she splashed him again before leaping forward and tackling her, pulling her under the water. She immediately swam away from his grasp, backing up towards the other end of the pool.
He stared at her, watching as her hair rustled beautifully around her head, and the bottom of her dress glided swiftly with her feet. She looked at him curiously as he gazed at her, mesmerized at how magical she looked under water.
*"What are you two doing under there?"* Cyborg said, trying to focus the camera on the pool.
Seconds went by before they swam up for air, only to quickly realize that they were closer to one another than they had intended on being. Their breaths were shallow as their hearts pounded in their chests, but it wasn't from the swim.
He stared at her his breathing rapid, as she returned his gaze. He then acted on impulse, and leaned forward and kissed her.
He had expected her to push him away, maybe even slap him across the face. But he didn't expect her to wrap her arms around his shoulders and kiss him back.
*"Damn!"* Cyborg said, his human eye wide in bewilderment.
It was intense, and passionate, and everything he had dreamed it would be.
Her arms tightened around him securely, as he lightly pushed her against the side of the pool.
*"Okay, guys, that's enough."* Cyborg said with a light chuckle. But they weren't stopping… *"...Um, guys?"*
She clung to the fabric of his soaked shirt, pulling him closer and closer as she kissed him deeper and deeper.
He gripped her side tightly, struggling with controlling urges that demanded to be released. His other hand tightened around her hip, before slowly lowering to her thigh, thrusting her up, forcing her legs to straddle him.
*"Beast Boy."*
His hand quickly sprung up from the water to grip the tiled edge of the pool as he pressed against her…
*"Gar!"* Cyborg shouted and without breaking contact, Beast Boy quickly grabbed his ear bud and threw it across the pool! *"Oh shit."*
Beast Boy could think a lot more clearly without Cyborg babbling in his ear. Now he could enjoy this marvelous moment.
Like the way she clung to him as if he were her life preserver. And the way her soft lips devoured his. And the way her hand crept down his torso, towards his pants… He blinked in realization as she grabbed his belt and started to loosen it… He suddenly realized where her intentions were and he quickly pulled away, leaving her shocked by his absence.
*"Wait. Did I miss something? What just happened?"* Cyborg said, squinting at the screen.
She blinked in surprise, shocked by the withdrawal, as he swam to the stairs and quickly left the pool.
"Why'd you stop?" She asked a bit out of breath as she followed him hastily.
"Things were going too fast. I don't think you were ready." He said, calmly tightening his belt.
"Of course I'm ready. I was the one making the move." She argued.
"Things were just moving too fast." He said again, shrugging nonchalantly.
*"Wait? Are they fighting now?"*
"Oh, so you're not ready for this." She concluded, crossing her arms.
"It's not that. It's just…" He huffed. "You were never into me before. Why now?" He said, ringing out the bottom half of his button-down shirt.
"You never kissed me before." She clarified.
"Ugh, forget it." He said harshly while walking back inside.
"Beast- Gar!" She hollered, trying to follow him in her soaking wet dress. But as soon as they walked into the building they ran into Nightwing and Starfire, who were quite confused by their drenched attire.
"Why are you two soaking wet?" Nightwing asked.
"Did you fall into the pool?" Starfire questioned.
*"Something like that."* Cyborg commented.
…
Of course, they didn't tell Nightwing what really happened, even though they all knew their leader and Starfire have had a few sudden intimate moments during patrol.
It could have been the way Beast Boy glared at him when he asked what happened, or maybe the way he snapped at him, telling him to mind his own business. But for some reason Cyborg didn't tell, or even bug them about the incident.
The car ride home was very awkward.
Nightwing mostly talked about the party and how, oddly, nothing suspicious happened. The whole point of them being there, operating undercover, was because the high-class event was under a threat. And out of everyone, Starfire was the only one who was actually listening.
Raven and Beast Boy were awkwardly quiet in the back seat, while Cyborg watched them from the rear-view mirror.
As soon as they got to the tower, Beast Boy and Raven quietly left the car and went in opposite directions.
"What's with them?" Nightwing asked, as he watched their cold exit.
Cyborg shrugged before looking towards the door in concern. He wished he had an answer to what actually happened in the pool.
He considered re-watching the surveillance videos to understand when things went wrong, but he didn't want to invade their private moment more than he already had.
…
Beast Boy paced in his room.
He was still wearing his nice attire, which was no longer soaked, but slightly damp.
His brow furrowed as he thought about what happened in the pool. Why did he stop?
Well, they were on a mission, and in public, at a party, and Cyborg was watching.
But that wasn't why he stopped.
She was right, he wasn't ready. But she had never showed any interest in him before, why now?
True, he never kissed her before. He had wanted to for a long time, but he didn't think she wanted him to. He didn't think she wanted him.
Clearly, he was wrong about that. He realized as he remembered pieces of the encounter in the water.
Her lips were so soft, and full of desire. And what she did with her tongue was amazing. Why didn't he go all the way? If she was ready, why did he stop her?
He could have easily hiked up her dress, and let her yank down his pants, and take her in the pool without a care of all the reasons why they shouldn't.
But he hadn't done it.
Because it didn't seem right. She didn't seem right. The things she did in the pool were so unlike Raven.
Raven didn't allow people to kiss her in pools. Raven didn't make out in pools. Raven didn't grind against people, or run her fingers through their hair, or undue their belts… Raven didn't do any of those things. And that's when he realized maybe something's wrong with her. Maybe someone slipped something into her drink, or something was going on with her emotions.
He needed to talk to her…
Garfield peeked out of his room and saw that down the hall, Kori and Richard were talking in hushed tones.
He quickly ducked back into his room, not wanting to draw the attention of his leader. He didn't want Richard to start questioning him again on why he and Raven were soaking wet.
He looked down to the opposite end, towards Raven's room, before turning back towards Richard and Kori, just to see the redhead eagerly pull Richard into her room by his necktie.
"Okay, wow… That just happened." He said in surprise before leaving his room and walking down towards Raven's door.
He knocked on the door, but he got no response. He slowly pressed his ear against the metal. There was no sound, no light breathing, no heartbeat. She wasn't in there.
After some deliberation on where she could have wandered off to, Garfield made his way up to the roof. He slowly opened the door to the roof and smiled. She was leaning on the railing, staring out at the sea.
Her pale skin glowed under the light of the full moon as her slightly damp hair blew with the wind. Her dark dress was still a little wet, but it still looked amazing on her.
"Hello, Gar." She acknowledged calmly, always aware of her surroundings.
He made a small sigh before approaching her, and once he reached the railing, he turned and leaned his back against it, propping himself up by his arms.
"Hi." He said softly.
"I'm sorry if I was being too forward." She spoke, still looking out at the horizon.
"It's just… It didn't really seem like you." He admitted, shrugging his shoulders.
She turned towards him and gave him a questionable look. "What do you mean?"
"Well, you're not really the type of person who makes out in pools." He clarified.
"True." She acknowledged, turning back to the view in front of her.
"And when you started to make a move towards…" He paused, watching her look down bashfully. "I wasn't sure it was really you. I mean you never showed any sign of liking me in that way before, and I would hate for you to do something you didn't want to because something was corrupting your judgment." He rambled uneasily.
"I can assure you nothing was corrupting my judgment." She told him sincerely.
"So, it was really you who tried to undue my belt?" He clarified, turning to her.
Her face flushed as she looked down again, letting out a sigh. "Unfortunately…"
He couldn't help but smile. "I didn't know you started… liking me."
"Well, I don't exactly wear my emotions on my sleeve, like you."
"So, you are saying that you like me?" He clarified.
"Well, I did try to jump you in the pool." She reminded.
"Rae, I need you to say it." He said seriously. "We didn't exactly get to talk about feelings before things escalated. And I would appreciate a confirmation."
"Me kissing you back wasn't good enough?" She asked, turning to face him.
"I want a verbal confirmation." He said, crossing his arms.
"Didn't know you had confirmation in your vocabulary." She said sarcastically.
He stared at her. "Stop stalling."
"I like you… a lot. Okay?" She said harshly, but she was sincere. An uncontrollable smile lifted his lips as she scowled at him. "Is that an adequate amount of 'talking about feelings' for you?" She asked him, her tone still bitter from embarrassment.
Instead of answering, he grabbed the sides of her face, pulling her towards him to kiss her. And she greeted it with just as much want, wrapping her arms around him to pull him closer.
His hands fell to her hips. His fingers dug into the fabric of her dress. He pulled away from her lips, trailing kisses down her jawline before resting at the crease of her neck. She sucked in a breath, as he devoured her skin, and she tilted her head at the sensation. The action caused her to release the smallest of moans, and the sound made him press into her harder, his hands gripping her even tighter.
"Umm…" She managed to say, and he quickly pulled away to look at her as she spoke. "Do you want to go inside?" She suggested.
He nodded lightly, a small smile playing on his features as she grabbed his hand.
He tried to calm himself and control his excitement as they walked down the stairs. He struggled with being patient and controlling the strong urge he had to grab her on the stairwell, thrust her against the wall, devour her lips, and rip off her clothes.
She continued to walk him down the hall until they reached his door. She barely got it open before he eagerly bolted forward, grabbing her, connecting their lips once more.
His hands automatically went to her waist as she slowly backed him up until his legs hit the edge of his bed. She pushed him down, forcing him to break away from her as he sat on the edge of his mattress. He looked up at her, his breathing heavy as she slowly climbed on his lap. Her dress bunched up as she straddled him and he quickly wrapped his arms around her when she bent down to kiss him.
Her hands slid down his shoulders and her fingers started fiddling with the buttons of his shirt, slowly undoing them. Once she reached the bottom, her hands swiftly reached back to his shoulders, tugging the garment off. He promptly let go of his hold on her, to pull his shirt off, discarding it on the floor.
His hands shot back up to the sides of her face before moving to the back of her neck. He pulled her closer to him, deepening the contact she had on his lips. She gently pulled away from him, their breathing rapid as she glanced down at him with half-lidded eyes.
She was about to kiss him again when she heard a zipper go down and she felt a breeze on her exposed back. The action caused her to grab the bunched-up bottom of her dress and pull it over her head, tossing it aside.
He barely had a second to gawk at her before she devoured his mouth once more.
Her arms wrapped around his head as he suddenly grabbed her, picking her up and laying her on the bed. He propped himself over her, never breaking from her intense lips as she glided her hands down his chest, past his stomach, and grabbed his belt. He pulled away and looked down, his breath caught in his throat before looking back at her.
"Are you going to stop me again?" She asked slowly, her half-lidded eyes filled with desire.
"No…" He said with a heated breath as she undid his belt and pulled down his pants…
…
Victor couldn't sleep.
He originally wanted to give his friend space, but now he wondered if he needed someone to talk to. He still wasn't sure what happened earlier, but maybe if he tried reaching out, showing that he could be a supportive friend, and a good listener, he just might get some answers.
Victor left his room and began to walk down the hall. It was late, and he wondered if Beast Boy would even be awake at this hour.
He arrived at his door and was about to knock when surprisingly the door slid open.
Raven jumped back in surprise before glaring up at Victor.
He looked at her with a bewildered expression, staring at her in a baggy t-shirt that was not her own.
She let out an annoyed sigh, crossing her arms and looking away, trying to hide her embarrassment.
"I was going to check on-" He began, but she quickly interrupted him.
"He's fine." She said abruptly.
Victor couldn't help but smirk. "I bet he is." He said, holding in a chuckle. "Did you guys finish what you started in the pool?" He teased.
Raven let out an aggravated sigh. "Why? Hoping to sneak another peak?" She asked harshly.
"Don't make me out to be the pervert here. We were on a mission." He reminded. "It's not my fault you two decided to get all frisky in the pool." He defended, pointing a finger.
Raven rolled her eyes and scoffed before walking down the hallway towards her room.
Victor crossed his arms and shook his head. "And put on some god damn pants." He hollered.
"What do you think I'm trying to do!" She yelled back.
…
