I do not own Kim Possible.
Shego-Desert Domain
Shego lay in a dark place while dark red piercing eyes stared at her from the shadows. The shadows consumed the light all around the area like a dark hole. The eyes moved closer and closer until a door was pushed open and light filtered through.
Kim-Desert Domain
A voice cackled loudly.
"HAHAHA, I was worried you wouldn't show up, however you chose the wrong door sweetheart. Now I could be lenient to your intrusion and test you or I could kill the thing most precious to you in this place. The only other person who came to rescue you is trapped in the darkest reaches of this pyramid consumed in darkness. Rescue her and I'll give you one item that will help you get out of here."
Kim sparkled. She was determined to find the woman who had come for her. She just didn't know where to search. She was scared and if she could cry she would. But she was determined to take whatever test the voice gave to her, if she was lucky.
"Voice, I will take the test."
"HAHAHA, what makes you think I will let you take the test?
Kim stared ahead into darkness.
"Dear, let me see you. Come closer. Look at me. LOOK AT ME I SAID." The darkness roared.
Kim fervently looked around, but could not see anything in the darkness.
"Well if you cannot see me, listen child." The voice echoed throughout the pyramid.
Kim stood still waiting for the words to continue.
" I am but red eyes that lay in the darkness waiting for people in despair and pain to lose themselves completely in the darkness. The hollowed heart in me will suck the light out of their pale existence, until they are nothing but the darkness in the world."
Kim shuttered. Here was a creature who consumed light and consumed life.
"STOP, STOP, STOP!" Kim screamed. "JUST TELL ME WHAT MY TEST IS, SO I CAN FIND THAT WOMAN."
The voice laughed again and said, "Child, your test is the find the light in my darkened heart. You may search all the memories of my past"
"THE FIRST TEST WILL NOW BEGIN. LIGHT, MOVE FORWARD AND BEGIN THE TEST"
Kim offered herself to the darkness and was overcome with sadness and grief. Screams echoed in her head, children cried, it was too much to handle. Kim was tearing at the seams. Her light barely pulsating in the darkness.
Flashbacks of entire civilizations wiped out before her eyes. Comrades slain by each other, wars, plagues, strife, she was feeling consumed.
But she was searching on and on through time it seemed. Until she found what she was looking for.
After what felt like years, Kim heard a cry for, "HELP, SAVE THEM!"
She had heard many pleas for help, but this one was distinct and resonated with her.
She reached with all of her will and moved toward the plea in the mist of memories.
MEMORIES-KIM
Kim looked for the voice that called her. She seemed to be in some sort of meadow. Flowers all around her. She looked for the voice. A small child came running soot and cuts lining her body. She was in disarray despair clouding her.
"I killed them. I killed them. Help save them. I didn't mean to, but there are all dead." The child was kneeling on the ground her hands folded and eventually fainted from exhaustion.
Kim went toward the child, but she just phased through. She tried multiple times to comfort the child, but she just phased through. She went toward the path that the child fled from. A town sat in ashes, nothing moved or stirred.
Kim wondered where light would be in this disaster. However, she trusted that the memory she chose was correct. Yet, what could she do? Sit here, while the child slowly starved to death?
Kim was starting to feel alone. Days had past and she was pretty sure the child had died. There were mice starting to nibble on burnt remains and hawks swarming overhead.
Time continued to pass and the bones of the child were left. Kim say a sparkling light in the bones.
A small gem glittering where the remains of the child lay.
Kim supposed this was the light she was looking for. She managed to take hold of the gem somehow, and was transported back to the pyramid.
DESERT DOMAIN-KIM
"So you got the gem. Well, well, very good dear. Was it hard to watch as a child suffered and you could not help? Was it painful to feel the pain and burden of death while the smell grew pungent in the air?"
The Darkness nicely asked.
Kim's light was barely fluttering. Twinkling on and off. She had no words for the turmoil she had experienced at not helping someone. She felt like it was her duty to help and all she could do was wait.
"There is still one more part toward your test, but I shall tell you a story before you begin." The voice began the story in a musical voice which was filled with a warmth that made you want to trust it.
"Once a long time ago, a child was loved by all the people in her village. She was thought to be a goddess among her people. She had love, affection, and admiration. She loved her people greatly, but when she started the sacred fire to cook the boar the hunters had caught, a spark had started on the wooden buildings in the town. People rushed to get out from the fire, but the fire surrounded them. People and animals died. She blamed herself for the fire and perished on the ground that had witnessed her birth. Her spirit was stuck for a long time. She took tests similar to you, but they were to determine her afterlife. Slowly, she became consumed by darkness and became darkness itself. She took in all the abandoned and darkened souls and consumed them. She was buried in her own grief. Yet, there was still light in her. In her heart, lay the love she had for her people. Inaccessible, but to those who had suffered a similar pain. Now, you may give me the light of my heart or you may use it to save your friend. It is your choice."
Kim was so confused. Was a woman she barely knew worth the soul of a child who became consumed by darkness? Yet, who was she to say that the darkness would change with the missing piece of her heart?
Kim made her decision.
She declared to the darkness ahead of her.
"Darkness or whatever you are. Something tells me that the woman is more important than I know. If this gem will help me save her, then I chose her. I'm sorry for what has happened to you, but I need to save the person that will want to be saved"
The gem in Kim's hand started to glow and illuminate the darkness. Kim searched in her mind to picture the woman and the gem led her to a random crevice in the wall. The crevice was littered with gems similar to the one in her hands.
Kim focused on the woman in her head the image and found the gem she was looking for. It had a unique signature that Kim could pick up on. It was like a song that whispered in her mind. She held it and a blinding flash over took her.
Desert Domain-Shego
"Heya, princess. How's it hangin? It seems like I've been sleeping for a while." Shego could feel that something was off. She felt like something big had happened while she was asleep. She could only remember hearing something calling her in the place with a whole bunch of doors. She was going to get Kimmie, but then she was sucked in.
Desert Domain-Kim
Kim was overjoyed that she had found the woman. Her light shone bright as she was reunited. She hoped that this was the last of the tests because she was exhausted beyond measure.
A voice permeated the walls and a single gem remained attached to Kim. A similar gem was attached to Shego.
"Congratulations! You have passed the first test. HAHAHAHA, most people don't get this far. After all, I don't give you a fair shot of winning. But I like you two, so I'll let you go!"
Author's Note:
I lost my notebook for this a long time ago and didn't feel the urge to continue it. However, I will try my hardest to finish. It may get a little confusing, so if you have questions or comments feel free to ask. The format might change a little and my writing style, mainly because it has been such a long time.
