"But we hate the Capitol!" I shriek.

"Honey, we were only trying to keep you alive," Her mother says.

"Yeah by throwing my friend into the Game. You didn't think I could make it out myself did you," I say crossing my arms.

"Look I know this is hard for you, but we did this for your own good. You'll be safe in the Capitol, nothing will happen to you," Effie says.

I push myself from the bed, and I lock myself in the bathroom. I turn on the shower, and I tear my dirty clothes from my body. I step in the shower the cold water making me suck in a breath. I wet my hair making sure to wash away any dirt that clung to it. I turn the water temperature up higher and feel the water sting my skin. I let the tears fall and I sob until my throat hurts. My skin is red and raw and my throat is sore. I step out of the shower, and I wrap a towel around my body. When I step into my room, I see Eli on the bed waiting for me.

"What are you doing here?" I hiss.

"I need to see you," He says getting off of the bed.

"Well could you turn around while I put some clothes on," I say rolling my eyes.

"Fine, but I might sneak a peek," He says turning around.

I pull on a pair of pajamas, and I put my silk robe on over that. I wrap my hair in the towel turban style, and I sit on the bed.

"What are you thinking about," I ask.

"How I could have lost you," Eli says.

"I would have fought to be with you again, you know that right," I say trying to reassure him.

"Of course I do, but you know there was still a chance you weren't going to come back out," He says.

"I'm being sent to the Capitol," I tell him.

"Why?" He asks.

"I'm going to be an escort since I couldn't participate in the Games," I reply.

"When do you leave?" He questions.

"I don't know yet, but we have to make the most of the time we have,"
