Jasmine went back to her house, accompanied by Celeste. They stood at the door and just before they went in, Jasmine took off her arm sling.
Celeste stopped Jasmine before she took it off fully.
"What are you doing?" Celeste asked, "You shouldn't be taking that off!"
"I have to take it off." Jasmine said, "If I don't, Randy's gonna wanna know what happened."
"But if you take it off, you might get your shoulder injured again." Celeste said
"I'll be careful." Jasmine said
Celeste looked at Jasmine and seeing her determination, she reluctantly let her carry on with the removal of the arm sling. Celeste took the sling from Jasmine just before she opened the door to the apartment.
The two girls walked in and saw Randy and John seated on the sofa.
"Hey, you two." John said
"Hi John." Jasmine said
Randy looked at the sling in Celeste's hand before looking at her, "What's that?"
"Oh.. Uh.. This is a sling.. For the arm." Celeste said, "A friend of mine got her arm injured so I'm going to pass this to her later."
Randy merely nodded and looked at Jasmine, "How was the sleepover?"
"It was uh…"
"It was uh… Fun!"
Randy looked at the two girls suspiciously but seeing that it must be a girls' thing, he let it go. John looked at his watch before patting Randy on the shoulder. He looked at John before looking at his sister.
"Jas," Randy said, "We're gonna be home late so you better keep the doors locked, alright?"
She nodded, "Okay."
Randy gave her a hug before walking out the front door with John, who said good-bye to the two girls.
Celeste and Jasmine headed to the soup kitchen for their shifts after relaxing at the apartment for a while. They walked in and were about to take their position in the front when Big Paul, stopped Jasmine upon seeing the sling she had on.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa." Big Paul said, "What happened there?"
Jasmine and Celeste both looked at her injured arm before looking back at Big Paul.
"And you better tell me the truth." He said
"Jasmine got into a face-off with two guys from The Shield." Celeste explained
He looked at Jasmine, "Are you serious? Did they do anything to you?"
"They tried but I managed to get away." Jasmine said
"By yourself?" Big Paul asked
"Yeah." Jasmine said
Celeste looked at Jasmine, raising her eyebrow. Jasmine knew why Celeste was doing that to her but she had to leave the part about Phil saving her, out of the explanation. If Big Paul knew about him, he might just tell her brother.
Bryan, who just finished refilling a tray, returned to the back of the kitchen.
"Hey! You're in." Bryan said, "How's your shoulder?"
"It's a little sore… But I'll live." Jasmine said
The guys chuckled a little and just as the two girls were about to head to the front, Colby appeared at the back door.
"Hey." Big Paul said, "You're not supposed to be in the back."
"I know…" Colby said, "I saw Jasmine come through here so I thought I could catch her before she started her shift."
Bryan looked at Colby angrily, "Well, you can't be in the back. And Jasmine has nothing to say to you."
"Bry.. It's okay." Jasmine said
He looked at her and she gave him a small smile. Bryan then stepped aside to make way for Jasmine.
She looked at Big Paul, "Can I start a little later?"
"Sure kiddo." Big Paul said
Jasmine gave him a grateful smiled before walking out of the soup kitchen with Colby.
Colby and Jasmine went to a park nearby and sat on one of the benches. Despite the park not being kept clean or fixed regularly, everyone in the neighbourhood still frequented the park.
The two of them sat on one of the benches and Colby spoke.
"What happened to your arm?" Colby asked
"I bumped my shoulder." Jasmine replied
"After I left?" Colby said
"Yeah… I got into a little accident on the way home." Jasmine said
He looked at her, "I'm sorry, Jasmine… I should have been there. But, I got an emergency call from my mother and I had to leave..."
"Is your mother okay?" Jasmine asked
"She had a fall, but she's gonna be okay." Colby replied
"That's good." Jasmine said
He looked at Jasmine's shoulder and lightly touched it, "I'm so sorry, Jas. I should have sent you home first. You wouldn't have gotten into an accident if it weren't for me."
"It's alright." Jasmine said
"I know that I shouldn't even be telling you this but I really wanted to go on a date with you." Colby said, "I probably don't deserve another shot anyway, right?"
Jasmine looked at Colby and chuckled a little seeing the puppy look he had on his face when he was feeling really bad.
"Well, it so happens that I'm not that sort of person who doesn't give chances." Jasmine said, "So... Let's have another first date."
