"Are you tired with what the Makers have done to us?"
"YES!" The crowd screamed.
Phil smiled at the audience in front of him. "With all of us gathered here together, we are slowly changing the way our world works. Gone are the days when they think they can control us! We are going to show them who we are!"
Brianna nudged Jasmine who clapped along with the audience who were cheering. After her conversation with Colby, she had to admit she was a little upset. She didn't want things to end that way between them but he didn't understand. He had his family intact, she didn't have hers. Was it so wrong to want justice?
Just as they continued listening, Jasmine felt Brianna jump slightly next to her as someone held onto her arm.
The girls looked to see Bryan, looking at them worriedly.
"Bryan?" Brianna said. "What's wrong?"
"We need to go now." Bryan said.
"Is something wrong?" Jasmine asked.
Bryan looked at Jasmine. "We need to go now."
"But Phil's not done yet." Jasmine said.
"We're not waiting for him." Bryan said.
"What? But Bry, we're supposed to support him." Brianna said.
Bryan looked at Phil who was still making his speech before looking back at the girls. "He lied to us."
The girls frowned in confusion. Bryan knew they were trying to figure out what he was talking about but he couldn't afford to explain to them when there wasn't any time. Just as he tried to pull them away, the three of them heard a loud boom.
"What was that?" Brianna asked.
The whole room was silent for less than a second before the three of them heard screams coming from the crowd. Jasmine moved towards the stage and just as she looked out from behind the curtain, a canister hit the stage, landing right by her foot. It started smoking as she tried to get to Brianna and Bryan. Jasmine tried to hold her breath but the harder she tried, the more she knew it wasn't going to work. She felt her her head start to get light as her world started to spin around her. Just before she hit the ground, she felt a pair of arms catch her.
She looked up to see the white and red colors of the bandana covering her rescuer's nose to mouth area. He looked down and Jasmine looked into his calm blue eyes.
"Give in."
She was about to fight, thinking that this wasn't going to go well but as the chemicals from the canister started to take effect, she felt her body relax as her vision faded to black.
Jasmine woke with a start.
As her memory started to come back to her, she slowly sat up to survey the room she was in. The last thing she remembered was the blue eyes she looked into. The person who caught her. The person who presumably brought her here.
But where was here?
Not wanting to stay and find out her fate, the only thing she could think of was to get out. With that in mind, she quickly swung her legs off the bed. Unfortunately for her, as soon she stood up, her world started to spin.
"Whoa. Whoa. Whoa."
She felt someone catch her and she turned to see her brother, Randy. He slowly sat her back down on the bed before taking a seat next to her.
"You okay?" Randy asked.
"Yeah…" Jasmine replied.
She frowned a little. "Randy? What are you doing here?"
"This is a place where I hang out." He replied.
"Were you the one who saved me?" Jasmine asked.
Randy shook his head. "No. But the person who got you out of there is a friend."
He passed her a glass of water. "Here, I got you a glass of water to flush out whatever toxin was in that canister."
Jasmine took the glass that was handed to her and sipped once before downing the entire glass. She heard her brother laugh softly as she put the empty glass on the side table.
"Do you want more?" Randy asked.
"No." Jasmine replied.
Randy looked at Jasmine. "Jas, what were you doing at that place?"
"I-I just wanted to see what we can do to change our lives." Jasmine said. "Those people killed mom and dad, Randy. We can't just let them get away with it."
"We can't but that doesn't mean we participate in an illegal activity, Jas." Randy said. "If only you knew how dangerous it was today."
Jasmine frowned. "What are you talking about?"
Randy wanted to continue but he decided against it.
Jasmine turned to Randy. "What are you not telling me, Randy?"
"The Makers found the warehouse, Jas." Randy said. "They raided the place and murdered innocent people."
"W-What?" Jasmine said.
She shook her head. "That can't be true. Brianna said the place was not traceable. No one knew where this place was."
"It turns out that someone sold them out." Randy said. "And we have a pretty good idea who it is."
Remembering that Brianna and Bryan were with her when it all happened, she stood up abruptly again - this time managing to stay on her feet.
"Jas, where are you going?" Randy asked.
"Brianna and Bryan. They were about to get me out." Jasmine replied.
"Don't worry. They are safe." Randy said. "We took them with us when we left."
Jasmine nodded and slowly sat back down. "Before everything happened… Bryan was saying Phil lied to us."
"He did." Randy said. "That son of a bitch sold everybody out."
"You mean…" Jasmine said.
Randy nodded. "We've had eyes on him since he started this whole rally thing. We found it odd that a person like him wanted to help people like us."
He stood up. "So we made sure to keep tabs on him. And just yesterday, we found out he made a call to an unknown number. A number to where the Makers lived."
"So we made sure to get as many people as we could out of that place." Randy said.
"That's why Bryan came in to get us out." Jasmine said.
Randy nodded. "We gave him the information and he figured it out himself."
"Wouldn't he have linked it to Brianna's sister?" Jasmine asked.
"That was a possibility. But given that she's been with us since her sister left, she's the least possible suspect." Randy replied.
"You mean Nicole's here too?" Jasmine asked.
"Yup. You missed quite a reunion for the twins." Randy said.
Jasmine laughed. "We have quite a sibling reunion too."
Randy smiled and nodded before looking at his sister with a serious expression. "Jas, please promise me you're never going to do something like that again. I don't know what I would have done if I had lost you back there."
"I'm sorry and I promise." Jasmine said as she hugged Randy.
There was a knock on the door and Jasmine broke the hug. The door opened and John smiled seeing the two.
"Glad to see you two reunited… Even though you guys didn't exactly lose each other..." John said.
"What is it, Cena?" Randy asked.
"Well, first off, glad to see you Jasmine. And two, we need you out here." John replied.
"Alright." Randy said.
He looked back at Jasmine. "You okay here alone?"
"What?" Jasmine said. "I'm not staying here."
"You're still not well." Randy said.
"I'm fine. I can stand." Jasmine said.
She stood up. "See?"
Her brother still didn't look convince.
"I'm no longer a kid, Randy." Jasmine said. "If you're trying to keep me in here just to shelter me, you better tie me up."
John laughed. "She sounds just like you!"
Jasmine smiled as Randy sighed, giving in to his sister. "Fine. Come on then."
