Author's Note:
I want to be clear, none of my stories are abandoned. If that ever happens, I will be very obvious about it. However, my muses have seem to taken vacations all at once, so any progress made is rather slow. With that said, here is another little one-shot.

Chapter Two
Constant Vigilance!
Batman was in the Batcave, his sanctuary, his home away from (or under) home, looking over some files when something caught his attention out of the corner of his eye. He didn't even have time to turn when a hail of red lights rained down on him, quickly rendering him unconscious.
When he finally snapped awake, quite suddenly, actually, he jumped to his feet, taking stock of his surroundings and himself, wondering who had dared to ambush him in his sanctuary. It was then he noticed a folded scrap of parchment on his keyboard. He picked it up gingerly, as if it could explode, and slowly opened it to read the short missive.
