Okayyyyy so… crazy life stuff in the way of my writing as per usual. I'm an adult now! Holy crap… so amidst my working, cosplay, and music, I'm going to try and keep this fic updated. As usual, rated M, blah blah blah… I don't own the rights to these characters.

Chapter 3: Glycerine

This was going to be a long night…

Riku's eyes fluttered open. The characteristically bright sun of midmorning affronted his senses with intensity equal to none. He groaned softly, suddenly aware of an ever so slight feeling of having been hit by a truck. Memories of a fiery session with the exotic stranger from the night before came flooding back to Riku's mind, evoking a boyish grin. He drew in a languorous breath, stretching out his limbs, to find Axel's torso.

Axel smiled softly, taking in Riku's disheveled appearance, "good morning to you too." he spoke, in an airy, relaxed tone. Axel couldn't help but think about how adorable his bed partner looked this morning.

"How long have you been awake?" Riku flushed with sudden shyness at the prospect of having been observed whilst unconscious.

"Long enough, I suppose." Axel chuckled, "why do you ask? You only drooled a little. I don't mind."

Flustered, Riku buried himself beneath a pillow, "Oh gods…"

Axel tugged the pillow out from Riku's death-grip, laughing. "Relax, will ya? You look gorgeous. Never took you for the overly self conscious type."

"Hey! I am not self conscious!" Riku glared up at Axel, a very slight upturn to the corner of his snarl.

"Ooooooh, scary!" Axel sat up with a grin, "remind me never to piss you off." He stuck out his tongue mockingly, eliciting a pout response from Riku. "Anyway, are you hungry? I'm starving."

Riku nodded slowly, "I'm pretty ravenous myself, actually. Know anywhere we could go?"

"How about downstairs? I have a kitchen, you know." Axel rolled his eyes.
"You cook?" Riku blinked in surprise.

"You know it." Axel stood now, causing Riku to subconsciously avert his gaze, though Axel wasn't shy about his nudity. He raised an eyebrow at Riku's behavior and stretched, like a cat lounging on a windowsill.

Riku couldn't help the warmth spreading across his cheeks, and inwardly berating himself thought, "flirtatious much… I guess if you got it, flaunt it… I just wish it wouldn't affect me so much."

Once Axel had left the bedroom, Riku stood up, pulling on his clothing from the night before and grimacing at the dull ache in his muscles. He strode across the room to the window, and gasped in surprise, "Damn, what a view… I could get used to this."

"Rikuuuuuuuu! Are you coming or what?" Axel's voice called from outside the room, "bevause if it's an 'or what', I'm eating all the food!"

Officially back home, Riku took it upon himself to do some research. It wasn't everyday that you ran across someone rich and gorgeous, let alone someone rich and gorgeous that's interested in you, so of course, Riku had some questions. He sat down on his bed and pulled his laptop close. After the laptop loaded with the usual welcome sequence, He went to work. Which is when, to his chagrin, the thought finally occurred… he didn't even know Axel's last name. He never thought to ask. "Oh great! How am I supposed to do this?!" He flopped forwards, face first, groaning into his sheets.

Riku reached for his phone, wondering if he should text Axel, ask him personally. But what if it raised suspicion? What if Axel just wanted a one night fling?

"WHY DO I EVEN CARE?!"

Riku never felt like this. Ever. Fling after fling after fling… Nada. Zilch. Zero. Absolutely nothing effected him like this. So why Axel? What was so different about him?

About that moment, the phone in Riku's hand buzzed to life. The caller I.D. Showing a familiar name. The name of the would-have-been-date, the standup-er himself, Sora. Groaning inwardly at the brunette's impeccable timing, and preparing for a lame excuse as to why his date didn't show up, Riku answered the phone.

"Hello…?" Riku spoke, a tinge of bitterness seeping through, despite his efforts to be polite.

"Hey, Riku… its me. Sora." His voice was deep, but it held a tinge of light hearted nature about it… which unfortunately only served to irritate Riku further.

"Yeah. I figured." Riku rolled his eyes up towards the ceiling, "what do you want, Sora?"

"I wanted to apologize for last night…" Riku could practically hear the flinch in Sora's voice at his tone, "my brother… he, uh… he's been hospitalized."

Riku froze, panicking inwardly, "oh god… oh god I'm a jerk… I'm an asshole… ahhhhhhhh"

"H-hello?" Sora called, unsure of the reaction he'd just caused.

"I… I'm so sorry, Sora." Riku coughed, choking on his words, "I had no idea! Is he okay?"

Sputtering noises came from the other side of the phone, but not another word. Rasping breathing sounded through the line, and it was clear Sora wasn't holding together well.

Unsure of what to do, Riku spoke calmly, hiding his concern with an authoritative tone, "What's the address?"

"I-it's 482 T-twilight Town Drive." Sora sniffled loudly back in reply.

"Hold on," Riku's voice softened, "I'll be there shortly."

Almost one year later! Finally! An update. Wow. Sorry it's sooooo short. I'm just getting into the hang of things again. Thank you for the reviews guys! You've been nothing short of amazing. And to anyone reading, please don't forget to review! It means wayyyyy more to me than you know.

rudyard .veil: Thank you! I'm so glad to see you're enjoying this little story of mine. In fact, just between you and me, you're the reason I'm updating this fic. You made it way too hard to abandon, and for that, I thank you. Axel and Riku are gonna have some tough times ahead, especially with Sora thrown in, but I can promise you more lusty fun! Ha! Hopefully I'll be hearing from you soon! And I promise the next update won't take so long!
