Chapter 9

Groaning was heard from the scarlet hairs lap, Kane looked down to see Natsu looking very green and ready to barf at any given moment, "Is.. he always like this on trains?" Gray groaned and nodded, "yup, Lucy was the only person able to calm him down when we road on trains as she just played with his hair and he fell asleep instantly… but I aint doing that with him." Gray just crossed his arms, looking out of the window.

Kane reached into his bag and took out some cream and began applying it to the tattoo on his neck to keep it moist, Erza watching him carefully, "so who talked Lucy into getting that same tattoo?" the wolf slayer paled a little bit, "please don't remind me of that…" he whimpered a little rubbing his still sore neck, she gave him the eye's and he whimpered more, "Fine, it was Mira's idea, and she jumped at it straight away after Mira said it's the first time she ever felt loved and like a real family on a team. Silver is just so full of love and kindness, I didn't really want too… but when She called me a big baby saying I can go first, I did to prove her wrong… "

Gray raised his eye brow, "so you hate needles? And Lucy used your weakness, man… she's always been so innocent with us," Natsu nodded from Erza's lap then covered his mouth.

"so can you tell us the reasons why we are going on this mission? I'm out of the loop since Erza ran out of the guild after you and the masters office, plus I'm still worried about Lucy." Gray spoke and looked to both the wolf slayer and ex-quip mage.

Erza crossed her arms, "we are going to the Heartfilia estate, to conduct an investigation, this person that seems to be stalking Lucy might be connected to her past that she's not told us about. Kane mentioned to me earlier that she went mission for a year, and shut herself in her bedroom not speaking to anyone for months. Or seeing anyone for months"

"I get it, since we can't ask her directly about her past, not wanting to cause her pain by stiring up unpleasant memories, we are going directly to where it might have all started and gather up clues to help find this creep?" they both nodded as Gray let out a small smirk, "Good, I want to beat this creep up for hurting and scaring her."

They nodded again, "So do I, from what we've seen so far, it looks like she was kidnapped and tortured… for a long time. That's what feeling I get from the evidence that I've seen so far. This guy has basically stated he owns our sister. An if I can help stop him, and free her from this guy I will do." Erza spoke, "The only question is, why would anyone torture her?"

"there are two possible answers to that, one cause he's a child molester… or… he knew she was a wolf slayer, you see, our mother was very careful not to teach us wolf slayer magic around there, but someone might have gotten word… so for now all we can do is prey we get the answers that we want once we get there." Kane spoke as he held the locket in his hand. "An I promise you mum, I will protect her."

Back at the guild, everyone seemed to have gone back to normal, they was still on edge a little, Gajeel had boarded up the window until they can get it repaired while eating iron at the same time, Levy was worried about her best friend.

The strauss siblings was at the bar, including Lisanna mainly wanting all the details about Mira and Kane's relationship, "Aw come on Mira… tell me have you both done the dirty yet?" Mira's head snapped towards her sister, trying to keep it a low pro so then Elfman didn't try to rip Kane's head off when he came back from his mission, but Elfman heard, and smirked, "oh yeah, 3 times a night Lisanna, trust me Nee-chan can't half screa-" he held his crotch as his face paled. "Not a manly…place to hit sis.."

Lisanna giggled and turned back to her sister, "So you've been getting frisky with Lucy's brother? And let me guess it was your idea for the tattoo's? I know you've been wanting one for like… EVER!"

Mira gave a slight nod "did it hurt?" a voice spoke behind them, "No but Kane was a big wuss when he got his.." they turned and saw Lucy standing there holding her head slightly and sat down with the Stauss siblings. They stood up and rushed to her, "Lucy! Are you ok? Should you be up?" asked a frantic Mira, "Yeah, just a slight pounding in my head where's my idiotic brother? And where's Team Natsu?" she looked around the guild slightly wincing from the lights inside the guild. Lisanna forced the blonde to sit down, "They've gone out on an S-class mission, and Erza needed Kane for it, she wouldn't display any details. Although it sounded urgent," spoke the youngest of the strauss siblings, Lucy looked to Lisanna, they hadn't really spoken within the 3 months of knowing each other, just a few words here and there.

Lucy wanted to be cautious with the girl, but Lisanna just plain right hugged her, "We all was so worried when you … you know earlier, and when Laxus carried you upstairs so romantic!" a pink flush went across the girls cheeks, "Wait… no… not you lot too… I've had enough with Kane saying that Laxus is my soul mate." "well girl, I've got to totally agree with your brother there! Blue eye's blonde haired babies!"

Everyone laughed at Lucy blushing who groaned laying her head on the table, "MJ Do we have any meds for my head?" Mira took some out from her purse, and handed Lucy two, "Why do you carry them?" asked the youngest strauss, "when you spend enough time with Lucy and her brother arguing, then Laxus and Lucy you kind of need them. There worse than Natsu and Gray" "We are not MJ!" She took and swallowed the tablets.

"So how did you get past Laxus?" that made the girl give off a sly wolf like grin, "He's sleeping like a baby at the moment, when I woke up he was asleep." Mira and Lisanna squealed and ran off to see Laxus.

After a long 3 hour train ride, Team Natsu plus Kane was now stood outside the Heartfilia mansion, "Do you think she left any clues in her old room here?" spoke Gray, Kane took a deep breath and took out his key to the Mansion unlocking the door, "I don't know but it certaintly is a start, after we will go asking around the small village located to the east of here. It's the only village within the Heartfilia estate for miles."

The group nodded and walked into the place, white sheets was covering most of the furniture that had been left, and small amounts of dust was layered all over the place, the last time the group was hear the Mansion was almost destroyed, but now it looks like someone had fixed he place up to be on the market, the only question is there was no For Sale sign outside the place.

"Do you remember which way was Luce room? We've only ever been in the library, she wouldn't even let us go up into the attic of the place when we was last here." Spoke Natsu, his eye's was darting around the place. Kane nodded and began to climb the stairs, "Yes, her room was in the west wing, where our mothers was in the east, I don't know why but Jude had set up them arrangements" they all followed the wolf slayer, as they reached into the west wing of the mansion, and outside a plain oak door, hanging outside it was a small sign in Lucy's handwriting, but more childlike. Along with someone else's for pictures of bunnies "Ha, she still had this? We made this for her room back when she was like 6." Natsu grinned "Cute!"

Kane reached his hand out and turned the handle on the door, it squeaked a little due to not being opened in over 14 years, when it opened, the room didn't look anything like a childs or a teenagers, more of a woman in her late 20's and very elegant, the walls was a creamy white colour, as her carpet was light chocolate brown. On the walls held a few pictures of her parents, and herself as a child. There was a queen size bed in the middle of the room, along with closets, to the right was a personal bathroom, next to that, Erza had found a walk in closet, about the size of Lucy's current apartment. Near the foot of Lucy's bed held a mahogany desk and what looked like study books of maths, English and science.

"this.. was her room? It doesn't have that Lucy feel to it.." Natsu spoke as he looked around, Kane nodded, closing his eye's, "it use to be a lot different, a more cheerful feeling to it, but that was back when Mother was here, Jude must have changed it shortly after" Erza looked to them, "Alright start searching for clues, after we check this room is there any other rooms she might have stayed in?"

Kane thought about it as he began looking through the desk, "Only one other, our mothers office. She and her father had different offices, Even though my dad and her was best friends in high school, they worked together and she began a great novelist under the name of Layla Farron," he heard a gasp and looked up to see Erza, "Layla Farron? I've read most of her books, they was simply amazing." He nodded, "she wrote the books, and my father published them."

They continued looking around the room, private bathroom and came up empty, so they left the room and began heading towards Layla's office. Kane didn't really want to go into his mothers office, but Natsu began to suddenly speed up when he hadn't noticed he was about to protest not to get lost but Kane's nose picked up the scent, The scent of Lucy's blood, so he began charging forward until they was outside the office.

"Either this sick bastard has planted something in here for us… or Lucy's been in here" spoke the dragon slayer, and Kane agreed with him, he went to turn the handle but it was locked, he frowned a little, "Lucy must have the key for this room, because there was only ever one."

Gray smirked, "good job I can make key's, I'll just have to keep making a few until we get the right one. Natsu! Your not burning down this door!" Natsu growled, about to Argue but he was hit over the head from Erza, "He's right, this is a sentimental place for Kane and Lucy,"

Gray went through about 20 key's until they heard the lock click, the door opened slowly and they walked in. Everything in the room was well kept and organised, Kane sniffed around and almost felt himself crying, "It still has mums scent in here… even after all these years. Silver must have noticed the scent and found herself in here for comfort."

"How close was Lucy and her mother?" Asked the ice make mage, taking a deep breath, "they was best friends, unless mother was sick or working, she spent every waking moment with Lucy. Playing, tea parties, teaching her lessons on the stars, I remember when mother first summoned Aquarius Lucy got so excited and that mermaid spirit was so happy to see Lucy, so every chance they got they was together. Hmm I need to have words with Aquarius on why she's changed."

He walked closer to the desk, when his nose picked up Lucy's scent again but a lot stronger, he opened the bottom draw. Placing his hand inside he brought out a black notebook, ingraved on the front was 'Lucy's Diary' Kane had bought it for her back when she was 8, but what he noticed the most was blood splatter, opening it up he began to read through it.

His eye's widened, " this is … this explains what Lucy went through the year she was missing! She wrote everything down." Erza took the book off him and her face paled at one entry.

Date 20th oct x781

It's been one month since I've been back home from that horrible place… I've told no one just like he told me not too… I still see, feel and remember everything that happened, 1 year ago today, he went further with his … Experiments on me. I still couldn't speak, my lips was super glued together. As the day's past I tried to get it off but I couldn't it hurt too much.

He walked into the dark cell he kept me in, that cold damn cell, my wrists bound to the wall, for over a month he'd been 'testing' me with how much pain I can handle I don't know how he found out about me being a wolf slayer, mama said I should always keep that part of me secret until I found some I truly trust for the secret, in any case… he's been trying to see on how much pain a wolf slayer can take, so far I've been hit with objects, punched, kicked, stabbed.. cut open, and stitched back up.

Anyway, he came in, with more light this time so I could see his face, he wore black robes with some type of white collar around his neck, I think he is a priest… I still didn't know where I was. He was holding a whip in one hand, but also something silver in the other.

He turned me around causing the chains around my wrists to twist and pull at my skin, it hurt really bad… and brought the whip down on my back, I tried not to scream out… but it slipped. He laughed like a maniac. After about the 20th strike, I was turned back around and he kept saying that I was his pet… that I'd never be free from him and raised the silver weapon.

It looked like a Gun, I think it was because when he activated the weapon it sounded like a gun but it didn't shoot bullets, no… they felt more like solid rocks, they hit me all over… my stomach and chest took most of the damage. I tried to beg for him to stop, but I couldn't get my words through… he told me once all these tests was over, that I could go home, that I just had to put up with the pain.

I cried so hard… I just wanted to go home.. to daddy… even though he doesn't really acknowledge me and my brother! I wish Kane and my mama was here… they would hold me.. but I'm alone, and I always will be alone…. I still don't know the man's name that took me… but I want to forget about everything. I still see his face in my dreams… short black hair,…glasses… black robes… and white collar…

I'm going to finish here now…. Someone is coming and I don't want them to find this book… hopefully no one will ever find it…

Once Erza had finished reading the entry, she looked to everyone "we need to get this back to the guild. I don't really want to confront Lucy about this but we need answers, I'm guessing this book wont give us all of the answers we want, but after reading that one entry it's enough to convince me that someone is stalking her."

Kane took one last look at the office and noticed something off, "wait a minute…" he walked over to a wall he pushed it slightly and the wall cracked open a little bit, revealing a small door only big enough to store something.

He took out a small brown box, curious, pealing off the brown parcel tape, his nose was hit by a strong smell. Once opening the box, he found clothing, pulling out a small 11 year olds dress, which was a light pink, it was torn and blood was all over it. He paled, "her favourite dress….the one mama got her on a business trip…" he looked into the box and saw the small picture from the locket as well as a small note,

'Remember my little wolf…

You belong to me…

I'm letting you go for now…

But I will come back for you one day…

Our time together was fun…

But ..

It had to end at some point…

I will come back for you…

That is a promise…

Remember my little wolf…

Never tell anyone about our time together…

"We really need to get back to Lucy NOW!" He spoke throwing everything into the box including the Diary that Erza was holding. They forgot to search the town and grabbed the first train back to Magnolia.

After Laxus woke up, he was in a slight panic cause Lucy wasn't with him as he had slept, but once he walked downstairs into the lower part of the Guild Lucy was laughing with two of her team mates, and Lisanna. He relaxed slightly seeing she was safe, although he felt something wasn't right.

He walked up to the table, as Cana brought up a package to Lucy, "here, some man in a priest outfit told me to give you this" Lucy held a confused look on her face, as she opened the package, her hands shot straight up to her mouth. Trying to hold back a scream, the item rolled out of the box and Laxus rushed to hold the girl close who held onto him for dear life.

Mira and Lisanna looked to the items that was inside, one was of a silver gun and the other was a positive pregnancy test. Laxus began to get enraged as Lightening began to spark off his body. This sick bastard that kept sending Lucy these gifts was really pissing him off.

"Cana! What did this guy look like?" the brunette looked to Laxus as she tried to keep her mind off what she just saw, "he was wearing glasses, short black hair, black robes and white collar, like I said I think he was a priest. An said he knew Lucy very well."

Laxus felt the grip on his shirt tighten to the point it felt like claws was digging into his skin, looking down Lucy was pale as a ghost, he could see the pain, fear and torture in her eyes.

He scooped her up and went straight to his gramps office, once getting in there Master Makarov was shocked, to say the least but didn't let it show, Laxus looked the door on the inside and sat Lucy down in the chair and knelt down to her, he placed gentle hands on each side of her face. "Lucy… you need to tell me. Why is this sick bastard sending you these stuff? Who is he? And what happened back when you was younger."

Lucy tried to stop trembling, but it didn't help and Laxus didn't mind, he tried to be as gentle as he could with her, "Please Lucy… please… I can't help you… if you can't tell me."

"H….he's going to punish me if I tell… he said he would.." shaking his head, as Laxus face softened, his voice cracked a little, "He won't get you I promise… your safe in this office, you can tell me…" her hand reached up and stroked his face softly. Her heart skipped a beat when seeing his gentle eye's, his eye's held fear like hers, but his fear was different.

"I…" he looked down, "Please.. I beg you Lucy… i.. I love you.. and I can't stand to see you like this any more.. let me share this with you… let me protect you from this.. your strong and courageous … so please…"

Tears fell out the stellar mages eye's, he loved her? Her heart felt like it was about to burst, the feelings of being torn between two men had just become hole and into one. One for the blonde dragon slayer in front of her, begging to hear her tormented past, to hear how broken she really is. "but… what If you leave me.. like my daddy did, what if you don't believe me like daddy didn't…" he leaned closer as Master Makarov had turned his back to them letting them have a moment.

Laxus placed his lips gently on hers, it was soft, and gentle, but it held love and security in it, she gripped her hands onto his shirt a little more and kissed back, it only lasted a minute but in reality it was one of the best kisses he ever had. "That's why I will believe every word you say and will never leave you Lucy. Because I love you… I Trust you.. so please trust me."

Letting out a small sigh she looked into his eye's again, he was telling the truth and nodded. "Alright… I'll tell you… It all happened one year after Mama passed away…"
